After reading reviews on Angie's List, I called ahead of time to make sure that this establishment still accepted old gold jewelry. The person on the phone was very courteous--he told me that they do, in fact, buy gold. I wanted to be sure we dealt with a reputable company before driving 30 minutes to the East side of Cleveland. When we arrived, they buzzed us in quickly and sat us down immediately to examine what we'd brought. He took the gold over, weighed it in front of us, and gave us what he'd be willing to pay. After having done some research on market prices for gold, I knew that his price was fair. We accepted after learning what the weight was, and he gave us cash immediately. An easy transaction, and very quick. I'd definitely go here again--in fact, I'm going to see if I have some more gold lying around the house.

Had gold jewelry exchanged for cash. Weight and appraisal done in my presence. Very competitive valuation, and cash given immediately. I was waited on as soon as I entered the store, and the salesman was very courteous.

Very well.  When I called, he named a time it would be good to come in.  WHen I came he gave me undivided attention for the 15 or so minutes it took.

I had to sell an unused woman's wedding band that had been purchased a few years ago from a jewelry store in a mall. The store where it was purchased would not buy it back. I visited 3 other jewelers who advertise that they purchase unwanted jewelry, knowing that I wouldn't get anywhere near what was paid for the ring, but still hoping to be treated fairly. Nicholas Jewelers was professional, courteous, and offered me the best price of the three.

Excellent experience. I have had many jewelers look with disdain on such a small job, or try and get me to "upgrade " my wedding band with a newer, more expensive piece. Mr. Grunwald was more than happy to perform the service, small as it was. There was no need for me to explain to him the importance of this ring to me, as I have had to do with other jewelers. His price was fair, he repaired it in a timely manner, he called me (I did not have to call him) when it was done, and he even strengthened some other areas that were getting weak. He was very pleasant and professional throughout. The work has held up just fine!

My husband s watch got wet and kept having condensation under the crystal. I took it to Nicholas simply to have it taken apart so that it could dry out, as we weren t comfortable doing this ourselves. Shortly after we picked it up, we were back to same problem. My husband ended up opening it up himself, letting it dry out next to the heat for a much longer time, and it has been fine for months now. I think their prices are high - charging $16 just to open up a watch and let it sit to dry was excessive, esp. since it didn t even solve the problem. Another time, I inquired for an estimate of how much it would be to remove links from a watch band for sizing and was quoted $15-$20. I've gone there before to have watch batteries replaced.

They did a great job, and finished it within a few days as promised. The ring looks brand new.

It all went as planned. he did a very nice job. the diamond is still in the ring and it looks very nice. He was very careful with the stone and insurance policies.

Their hours were a little funky so I would have to adjust my schedule to visit their store while they were open. Other than that I had a great experience.

My wife was concerned about broken prongs that retained the stone in her wedding ring. I located Nicholas Jewelers from the list and met with the owner who explained my options and costs for repairing vs. replacing the mounting and why he strongly suggested replacement. The work was done for exactly the estimate and the ring looks as good as new. He was also suggested that I might want to list the ring on my home owners insurance, which would provide some coverage in the event the stone were ever lost; and provided an estimate of the ring's replacement cost for insurance purposes.

Very pleasant experience.

GARY IS A GREAT GUY- OUTGOING, EASY TO TALK TO, & VERY NICE. HIS STORE IS BEAUTIFUL & HAS MANY FINE PIECES OF JEWELRY & ART. GARY EVEN WENT OUT OF HIS WAY FOR ME & FIXED MY WATCHES AT 5:45 WHEN HE WAS CLOSING AT 6 PM. HE STAYED A LITTLE BIT LATER & MADE SURE THAT I WAS HAPPY WITH THE WORK. I APPRECIATED THAT VERY MUCH.

I WAS VERY IMPRESSED THAT HE WAS SO CAREFUL TO USE THE BEST PRODUCT.

GARY WAS NOT VERY FRIENDLY OR POLITE IN MY INTERACTIONS WITH HIM. HE SEEMED HURRIED AND UNINTERESTED. THE SETTING INTO WHICH HE PUT THE DIAMOND NOW NO LONGER MATCHES THE TWIN SETTING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RING.

I WAS TOLD I COULD PICK UP THE WATCHES THE NEXT DAY ANYTIME AFTER 10:00 A.M. WHEN I ARRIVED AT 10:10 A.M., THERE WAS A SIGN ON THE DOOR STATING THAT THE STORE WOULD BE OPEN AT 11:00 A.M. I WENT BACK IN THE AFTERNOON AND AN EMPLOYEE COULDN'T FIND THE WATCHES. I HAD TO MAKE YET ANOTHER TRIP THE NEXT DAY, AND ONE OF THE WATCHES WASN'T WORKING WHEN I PICKED IT UP. LUCKILY THEY FIXED IT THEN AND TOLD ME I COULD RETURN IT IF IT STOPPED AGAIN.

THIS IS THE 3RD TIME I'VE USED THIS COMPANY AND THEY ARE HONEST, QUICK, AND FRIENDLY! USE THEM FOR ANY JEWELRY PROBLEMS.
