MARY'S DECORATING

We were referred by my parents and were impressed with the work done at their house.  They really did a great job for them; very neat and thorough.  Unfortunately at my house, the painters were not punctual, one day not even showing up at all.  I wasted many hours waiting around for them to arrive and do the work.  In fairness to them, I did not express my discontent regarding this at the time.  When they did the work, they used drop cloths sporatically.  It wasn't until days/weeks later that I realized the extent of the damage to my furniture, belongings and antiques.  My carpets, countertops, fireplace mantle, and hardwood floors are also covered with thousands of specks and drops of paint.  There were also multiple places major touch ups needed to be made.  A week after the job completion, and discussion with the owner regarding what needed to be fixed, the gentleman arrived to fix the problem areas.  He was dismissive about my concerns, but agreed to do the work, and stated that he was being generous in doing so without charging me.  He left four areas unfixed when he left.  Because I had to pick up my children, I had to leave before he was finished.  When I arrived home, he was gone and the work still not finished.  I never heard from them again.  I declined to call again and express my concerns.  I chalked it up to a major mistake on my part for hiring them from one referral and a newspaper ad.

I was satisfied with their work. It's a family run operation and they seem reliable and they did a fair job. The painting could have been a little bit better, but I did think they did good work.

The first day of prep was good but the second day, not so good. The painting was very sloppy. Ryan, the owner, left the job the second day and left the painting to his daughter and son in law. They were very sloppy and got paint splatters on the floor, appliances, baseboards and more. The son-in-law actually dropped a wet paint roller on the floor. Upon further inspection I have found that the small holes in the walls were improperly patched prior to painting. Furthermore, Ryan's taping and prep is now showing as well. During the entire process I had to keep prompting them and advising how to properly remove fixtures, switches and more. I was so dissatisfied with the entire process that I called Mary herself and she apologized and stated that she would come back and clean up the mess. No one has responded since that call.

Gary's son and daughter-in-law did the work and they have painted several rooms in my house in the past. They are usually late as scheduled, so I expected this, but this time they called me to tell me they were running late. They did a good job with painting, as they always do, but do not do extensive plastering, if the job requires it. They also will come back to fix anything that needs further touch up, without added cost. Their prices are very reasonable.

THEY DID A FABULOUS JOB! THEY DIRECTED ME TO A PAINT STORE AND GOT A 10% DISCOUNT ON THE WALLPAPER. THEY TOLD THE BORDER I DIDN'T USE I CAN BRING BACK AND THEY WILL REIN BURST ME.

THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO START 6/20 BUT HAD A CANCELLATION AND RESCHEDULE TO TODAY 6/15. THEY ARRIVE ON TIME WORKED 8 HOURS AND FINISHED THE WHOLE JOB IN ONE DAY. THERE WERE THREE PAINTERS AND THEY WERE VERY POLITE AND COURTEOUS. THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES AND PUT FURNITURE BACK. GARY AND MARY RYAN WERE HERE AT THE START AND FINISH OF THE JOB AND MADE SURE I WAS HAPPY WITH THE WORK AND I WAS HAPPY.

THE ORIGINAL PHONE CALLS WERE RETURNED PROMPTLY BUT LETTING ME KNOW WHEN THE WORK WOULD BE DONE WAS LAX. THEY WOULD CALL IN A DAY OR TWO AFTER THE ESTIMATE, AND IT WAS TWO WEEKS LATER, AND THEY WANTED TO DO THE WORK THE NEXT DAY.

THERE WAS A SMALL LITTLE GLITCH, BUT WHEN WE CALLED THEM THEY CAME RIGHT OUT AND FIXED IT. I WAS PLEASED WITH THEIR WORK AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS.

GARY WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL. HE BEGAN PAINTING A ROOM IN A COLOR WE PICKED AND REALIZED QUICKLY THAT THE COLOR DID NOT LOOK GOOD. BEFORE HE PROCEEDED TOO FAR HE CONTACTED US AND DISCUSSED HOW TO PROCEED. WE WOUND UP CHANGING THE COLOR COMBINATION AND WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS.

WE'RE MOVING SOON AND PLAN TO HAVE THEM DO ALL THE PAINTING AND PAPERING WORK IN OUR NEW HOME...NO NEED TO LOOK ELSEWHERE!

I PAID HIM BEFORE THE PAINT DRIED, AND NOW THAT IVE HAD TO BRING A NUMBER OF ERRORS AND CONCERNS TO HIS ATTENTION, HES UNWILLING TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEMS. HE USED FOUL LANGUAGE WITH ME IN OUR LAST CONVERSATION.

MIKE AND HIS ASSISTANT FOLLOWED OUR INSTRUCTIONS VERY WELL. THEY WERE VERY INTERESTED IN OUR SATISFACTION WITH THEIR WORK.

THE WORK INVOLVED LOTS OF COMPLICATED TRIMMING AROUND MOLDING, WINDOWS, SWITCHPLATES, ETC. THESE REGIONS WERE DONE WELL, BUT THE EASY PARTS--PARTICULARLY THE BOTTOM EDGE--WAS POORLY DONE. THE EDGE WAS JAGGED AND MEANDERING AND SOME CORNERS WERE TORN RATHER THAN CUT.

WOULD NOT HESITATE TO RECOMMEND THEM.

VERY PROFESSIONAL AND THE KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING THEY HAVE BEEN IN THE BUSINESS FOR YEARS

HUSBAND AND WIFE WORKED AS A TEAM...TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE. WORKED QUICKLY AND THEIR WORK IS TOP-NOTCH. VERY IMPRESSED WITH THEIR QUALITY. A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH.

THEY HAVE A LOT OF EXPERIENCE DOING THIS AND THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL OFFERING SUGGESTIONS WITH THE WAY TO DO THE WALLPAPERING.
