MARDAN CEMENT CONTRACTORS

i was looking to replace a 35 year old driveway, Mardan Cement was recommended to me. I called and left a message to please contact me. Within a few hours i had a call back from Dan (owner) of the company. We set up appointment for him to come out and look over the project. He did a full measurement and gave me on the spot proposal. I had contacted 3 other companies, 1 was a no show, 1 was super high, and the last I had to call 3/4 times to ask for the quote. He told me he was bad at getting quotes out. needless to say Mardan got the job. On Saturday 7/22 received a call from Dan that they would like to start the job on Monday 7/24 around 11:30. True to his word the trucks,equipment and man power showed up. A good portion of the service walk way and old drive way were removed by 4:00pm. Tuesday the remainder for the driveway was gone, forms were in place and the gravel base were in place for inspection. The crew showed up at 7:30 Wednesday and the first load of cement followed around 8:00. By 3:30 that day we had a completed job. I only recommend people and companies that I know like and trust. It was great. Dan was very responsive and willing to answer any questions customer has. They did everything they said and made adjustments based on our need without hesitation. Pour was done 9/24 . We didn't hire through Angi but felt like important to share how nice it looks. He came back early Sunday 9/26 to seal. Thanks Dan to you and your team.

FANTASTIC!!! Dan and his team were responsive to all initial questions when we were bidding out the work. He has great follow up and communication through all phases of the project. We had quite an extensive multi-phase project involving multiple trades besides concrete and coordination was a breeze. Would definitely recommend Dan and his team. Dan was a great contractor. He was fair and honest from the beginning with the estimate, the scheduling, updates as to when he was going to start the job and through the whole process of tearing out concrete and pouring. Everything was spelled out on the estimate and in writing. Any extras he might have to do was in there so there would be no surprises when he was doing the job. Ended up we need a lot of extras but we knew cost and were no surprises when we got the bill. He was on the job everyday so no contract employees to deal with. If he had questions about what we wanted he asked and we worked out the details. We made some changes on the fly and he was able to do them. We had bad drainage pipes and he needed to put on new ones and we knew the cost before hand. So it was easy to tell him go ahead because Dan knew if it was not done he would be back in couple years to fix the concrete again because the base would fail due to water under it that is the homeowners responsibility to do. He ended up adding 190 feet of drain tile we did not think we were going to need when we started the project but we ended up needing it because our drive collects all our water and the neighbors yard water. The driveway actually flooded overnight as he was removing the old concrete so it need all the drain tile to make it last. I have to say our yard has never been drier. We made the right call. He also recommended how we should do our sidewalk to eliminate steps and make it look great. We are so happy with Dan’s job that we recommend him for anybody wanting new concrete. He is a great guy and he is an honest man. We would have him work here again if we need more concrete poured. Give him a call. You will not be disappointed in his work.

My driveway required removal, redesign and replacement and it included the sidewalk to the stoop/front door. Redesign was meant to lessen a troublesome curve on a hill and make it easier to navigate, especially in the winter. Owner Dan, also being a snow plow guy, offered me good advice and I used it. Dan came out twice, and was not bothered by me needing to see the changes marked off again, for the second time. The cement design work on the finished drive and walkway surfaces really looks great. No other contractors even mentioned any top finish work like this and he still had the best price. Cleaning up after the job was less than I expected. Dan left excavated grass/soil chunks from the city approved changes, spaced along the newly redesigned and now poured drive. What grass/soil came out went back in place by me, little by little over the following three days. My only other expenses were a small seed bag, 1/2 bale of straw and a couple bags of top soil. I couldn't be more pleased with the final outcome. Even my neighbors stopped by to say what a nice looking job Mardan Cement did. Dan didn't leave before providing face-to-face instructions for new concrete maintenance. One week after the pour one of his guys came out and sealed the drive. Dan Mardan Knows Cement! He and his crew did an excellent job! They removed all old concrete and even widened my drive as requested! They took out my old garage floor without any issues, added an extra deep front footer, releveled the floor and added a nice larger drain, The driveway was removed, widened and finished perfect! It looks awesome! Dan worked up a quote and recommended some adjustments that made this project come out great! I had several contractors give me quotes, Dan's questions and insight made me trust that he knew what he was doing and could get the job done. This was the third job I hired Mardan for. He did my garage foundation and driveway at our primary residence. I needed a new city sidewalk, sidewalk to front steps, and pad under the front steps at my rental house. They came out and get the entire job done in a few hours. They even over-sized the pad under the steps to make sure I have a great foundation for the new steps I was building. The swirl finish that the specialize in turned out great and I couldn't be happier with the results. I would highly recommend and we will be looking to have them do some concrete work at my church as well.

Replaced driveway after new detached garage was built. I hired Mardan Cement again since they did such a great job on garage foundation. Dan is easy to work with, prompt to respond to any questions I have, and has hired a great team. They did a great job removing the existing driveway and preparing the site. They were also careful to pull the wire mesh off the ground into the center of the new pour to make sure it provides the strength its designed to provide. They had flexible forms that were great to add curves. They also specialize in a swirl finish which not many concrete contractors do any longer as it takes more skill. They had multiple option to decorate the edges and did really nice control joints throughout. I was so happy with the results that I hired them for a third job at my rental house as well. I would highly recommend them.

Replaced existing garage with new 20x40 detached garage. I was so pleased with the work I hired them again for 2 more jobs since the garage foundation. After doing some price comparisons and research I decided to hire my own concrete company so I can choose one that does good work. This also saved me some money by subcontract the concrete portion of the job myself. Dan showed up on time for the estimate and I was very pleased with the process. They also price matched the lowest price I received on old garage demolition and connecting the new garage downspouts into the storm system of my house. A garage of this size required full footers and they went above and beyond code requirements and poured 42" footers (code says 36"). They did two rows of block on top of the footers which is stronger than a poured wall and the block work was beautiful. I told them about moisture issues in my old garage. They again went above and beyond and put down 2 layers of moisture barrier to make sure we solve the issue. They also did a superb job surveying the property to determine how high they need to build the new garage so new driveway will have enough slope all the way down to street without needing an extra drain in front of the garage. Dan has a great team which I was able to get to know through the process. The quality of the work was excellent and when the amish garage builders I hired showed up they even complimented me on the quality of the concrete work. I have been recommending them to anyone that needs concrete work.

Dan (owner) is in HUGE demand because of the quality of his work and the reasonableness of his pricing, so the worst part about the whole deal is waiting a few weeks in the line of customers for our turn... Dan is friendly, extremely knowledgeable, totally straightforward and highly professional. He works right alongside his crew in every aspect of the job. He is meticulous and makes sure that every aspect of the job is done to his satisfaction. It's easy to ask him questions as thoughts come up and helps you make all the finishing decisions to make the job perfect. This was a massive project for my budget so I was very thorough with my research for a contractor. Dan was always very responsive to my phone calls which was different from most of the other companies I was calling. When we saw the finished project, we could not have been happier that we choose Mardan Cement. The crew was nice, professional and very efficient. The project took 5 days and we have had countless compliments. Since deciding to do this job, I've been obsessed with looking at other people's driveway and patios to find the best and now I get to look at mine. I may be biased, but it's honestly one of the most beautiful I've seen. The driveway and sidewalk make our house stand out more than ever before and the stamped patio is exactly what I envisioned for a backyard oasis. The garage floor completes the entire project. Being an older Lakewood home, the uneven garage floor was an eye sore and it looks brand new! Replacing the storm sewer was slightly unexpected, but we knew it was a possibility as mandated by the city. We had all 4 of our gutters routed to the new storm line so they no longer drain onto the driveway. That was our choice and it finishes off the project nicely. I highly recommend Mardan for all of your concrete needs.

Excellent, from start to finish. Best detailed quote and explanation of work to be done given by Dan (much more complete and correct, compared to 2 other contractor quotes). This company takes great pride in their work and it shows!! They are perfectionists. They even regraded and reconstructed half of my front paver walkway to meet the driveway at a proper level! The driveway is beautiful, down to its curve around my garden and back patio.

We tentatively scheduled the job, kept in touch by phone, and was able to easily schedule the job at a time that worked well for both Mardan and myself. They showed up right on time, did the work efficiently and perfectly, and we are extremely satisfied with the job, on all accounts. We are particularly pleased with the way we talked about the shape we wanted the new patio and some small changes to the original design of the front walk and side door entrance way, and then see Mardan easily translate that conversation into a perfect design to fit our house and our need to access all entrances easily. Tear out all the old cement and laying out the forms for the new walks and patio took one day. We had to wait a day for the city to inspect and grant approval and then the job was poured and completed in a half day after that. Mardan was a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend them and use their services again in the future. We also opted for a new asphalt driveway, from a company that works with a different cement contractor. When the asphalt job was finished that contractor asked who we used for the cement work and added that it looked great and was easy for him to join the driveway to. When another professional compliments the work I have done, then I know that I made the right choice, in addition to my own satisfaction with the work performed.

He was working me in while getting another job finished so I had no problem working with him and his crew to fit my work in. He explained that if the weather was bad and couldn't pour at another job he would show up and get mine started. Lucky for me the weather was bad and he came and got it going. The reason I needed the driveway done was my daughter was getting married and the old drive was just in terrible shape. Long story short, my drive was completed on time and is fabulous. He also helped me out with a little downspout issue I had. That saved me a bit of money. Great job. I would call him back and do recommend him without hesitation. Thanks Dan.

Dan, the owner, impressed me the first time I met him for an estimate. He was courteous, professional, very knowledgeable and willing to answer all my questions and never seemed rushed. His estimate was reasonable for the work required and there were no extra charges at the end. He and his crew were efficient in removing the old concrete, framing the driveway and sidewalks in one day. The second day they poured and finished the driveway, sidewalks and steps by early afternoon. They seldom took breaks and worked well as a team. I am more than pleased with the finished product. Exceptional quality job at a competitive cost. Very skilled finishing work. Team successfully worked through several local city building dept. permit challenges. Only minor opportunity for improvement was the length of time between signing the bid and start of work. I still highly recommend Dan's Team at Mardan.

I thought getting a new driveway would be really expensive and not much fun, Boy was I wrong. It is expensive, thought Dan is no more expensive than any other contractor I would have hired. I was very responsive when I first called and met me within a couple of days in the evening to view the job and provide an estimate. I hired him because he gave me good advise on moving and enlarging a drain that has been problematic. Like any of the competent contractors you need to book months in advance. Total job took a week and included three full days of actual work. We had rain and predicted rain during the week which prevented them from pouring the concrete immediately. Crew always showed up at 7:30 am for the day. Dan really does seem to have his own crew and does not use subcontractors and owns his own equipment. The old drain and an unexpected asphalt driveway under the old concrete drive were a demo surprise. This meant more labor and more disposal cost. No complaints and no price hike from Dan. The new driveway is beautiful. We've had several new driveways in our neighborhood this summer and last and ours is by far the best looking. Neighbors have stopped to admire it and ask me who did it. I sometimes go out in the evening to admire the beauty of the finish. First class all the way.

Absolutely fantastic. There was a problem due to some rain damage, and Mardan Cement corrected on their own. Perhaps, the BEST level of integrity nd workmanship of anyone we've ever hired!

Dan ( the owner ) himself gives the estimate and goes over the project with you giving advice and suggestions along the way. He was prompt and took the time to answer all my questions and whenever I called with questions before the project started he always called me back within a day. He was very professional along with his crew.The job was done exactly as we discussed and looked better than we could have imagined.

It went great. I would highly recommend this company. The owner is working on the job the entire time. He is very responsive. He returned all of my calls the same day and answered all of my questions. An issue came up with the need to install an additional drain during the project due to some grading issues and he did whatever made us feel comfortable to resolve the issue. The workers were all very nice and a pleasure to have at the house. I did not get any competing bids, but went with this company based upon the reviews on Angie's List, so I don't know where the price falls relative to other contractors, but the price was in line with what I had expected for the size of the project. It is a very large driveway plus the entire 3 car garage floor. The finished garage floor, driveway and sidewalk are beautiful. Everyone who sees the final result is impressed. The whole crew arrived early every morning and worked very hard throughout the day. The final result is wonderful.

Dan was very responsive over the phone and via text when questions came up. His price was reasonable and he provided me an update on the project timeline as the date approached. He and his crew were professional, courteous, and the driveway looks great. Would definitely rehire.
