The experience was very good. It was very thorough. He helped me discover a lot that I didn’t know about the house and that was fine. It led to the needing of the tear off the roof and the new roof prior to me buying the new home.

It went very well. John returned my call promptly. He and I talked through the job and set up a time to view the site and provide a quote. He was timely with the quote and was able to get to the work right away. Whenever he and I had an appointment he was right on time. Communicates very well thru e-mail (prompt and accurate).

Everything went very well, John spotted problems on the roof which was supposed to have a 30 year warranty and the house was only 15 years old. It helped me get some money back for the roof having issues only half way through the warranty. John definitely earned his keep by spotting the problem on my roof.

He was able to squeeze us in and worked with our realtor to get the inspection done, as we were out of state. His report was very thorough and detailed, with photos provided of all problem areas. He included suggestions to correct problem areas and estimated costs for repairs. Was able to pay him through PayPal, which I appreciated.

John was very professional and clearly experienced. He pointed out the items worth noting and provided an explanation on why things work a certain way. John knows his stuff and is reasonably priced. I would recommend John to whoever asked.

John arrived early and began work right away. He explained his home inspection process to us before he began and encouraged us to stay close and ask questions. Room by room he went, with detailed explanations of his findings, and the final report was amazing. A 46 page report that included many pictures along with his findings, what should be done to remedy the problems he did find, and an estimated cost for each job. This was such helpful information and an extremely thorough inspection.

John is a top notch inspector who demonstrated responsiveness and attention to detail, patience, explaining technical terms and clarifying inspection results and findings in an easy way throughout the 3 hour inspection. That inspection proved extremely useful in driving my decision on the home. John was thorough identifying issues that I would have never thought about during my visit of the home. He quickly identified a rotten window that was filled with wood filler and painter over. He was able to fit me in his schedule within the 5 days I had to complete the inspection and issued his reports with timeliness and quality. I recommend John to anyone looking for attention to detail, professionalism and customer service excellence at cost competitive rates. John, I was impressed. Nice work and I am not the easiest to please, being very demanding!

There was no radon, so we had no problems. They did a very efficient job. They got here when they said they would and got the results right back to me.

I actually joined angie's list to find a good house inspector and I am so happy I did. John was exactly what I was hoping for in an
inspector. My husband and I are first time homebuyers and had recently put an offer on a 1951 house. We were particularly nervous about the whole process and wanted to be as thorough as possible. John was so methodical that our realtor, who was with us at the time, couldn't believe that it took as long as it did (3hours for 2300sf house). John was able to explain issues he came across and provided a very detailed clear 48 page report with pictures the next day. He has been available for further questions by email and phone since the inspection. He has eased some of our worries and educated us well on the house we're buying.

Excellent services! I We chose Homewise for the clarity of reports and for John's willingness to go above and beyond with the inspection. Doing an inspection in the winter time is challenging and while other inspectors we've called qualified that as and quot;tough luckand quot;, John was willing to go on the roof and around the house in snow.
Although we ended up not purchasing the house, the comprehensive inspection report helped us understand all repairs needed and prevented us from going heads-on into a bad deal. John clearly explained every step of the inspection and all implications of his findings.

John was very thorough and provided a very detailed and thorough inspection report. My one complaint would be that during the inspection, he did not really explain what he was doing while doing it or explain a lot about the house. I was especially disappointed with this since we said right from the beginning we were first time home buyers. Maybe that is not standard for home inspectors to do but from things iand quot;ve read and heard, I was expecting more instruction. He did point out some crucial deficiencies with the house that we would not have known if not for him.

I had hired Homewise, when house hunting, to do two inspections. He did a wonderful job. Got out quick, on time, and sent me a great report. Probably also saved me from buying a house with a lot of hidden issues that could have turned into a nightmare down the road.
Once we bought the house, he did a radon test with the inspection and advised to get mitigation. We talked to him about coming out and doing it last year. His replies weren't as responsive as with the inspections. I got busy and put it off until this past spring when I went looking to cross it off my list and called Homewise again.
He seemed interested in the job at first, but when it came down to getting a date for him to come out and getting this done, he stopped responding. I ended up going with someone else who did a great job.
Homewise is top notch for home inspections, but I think the radon business has become more of an after thought.
If you get him to come out to do it though, I suspect you'll have a great experience.

They put a comprehension report together. They had good follow up, showed up on time, and answered any questions I had. Their service was great. Everything went very well. I had no problems.

John initially completed radon mitigation on the house we were selling. John gain our business by being honest, fair, and taking the time to explain everything to us in detail. We had a few repairs to complete on the house, so we spoke to several different contractors. My wife was caught in the middle at times and felt talked down to on many occasions when dealing with contractors. John did not make her feel this way. He took time to explain everything to my wife and made her feel part of the decision making process. The work was completed timely and reduce our radon from a 8.5 to .06. Amazing! When it came time to purchase our new home, we called John to complete the general inspection and radon test. Again, John was honest, fair, and knew his business. We are still in the process of negotiating on this new home, if the deal falls through, John will inspect our next venture!

This is the second time I've had HomeWise Inspection Services perform a home inspection and radon test for me. I was so impressed with the home inspection John Cundiff performed for me on one property, that there was no question that he was the one I wanted for the second property inspection.
Just as the first experience, John was professional, punctual, and paid a lot of attention to detail. He provides a very thorough inspection, and you feel as though you've really gotten your money's worth.
John was very willing to work with my timeline (which was a very short time between signing a contract on a home and getting the inspection performed). He was very responsive to my phone calls and e-mails, making it a breeze to set up an appointment with him.
The thoroughness of John's inspections is impressive! He starts his inspection outside and after he inspections the roof and exterior of the home he moves inside. He is not afraid to really get down (or up) and look at things. He emerged from the tight attic/crawl space in the home, covered in debris....because he actually checks things out...he doesn't just glance at it, at a distance. He not only inspects, but explains everything to you as he goes along so that you become very informed about the home and it's mechanical components, etc.
John is very educated and knowledgable about all things involving a home (just look at his credentials). I was especially impressed with his knowledge of the different brands and types of heating and plumbing mechanical components and their performance/duration history. He is able to pass this information onto you, where it applies, which helps you determine how long you have before you have to start repairing/replacing things.
Also very helpful was his knowledge of masonry. He detected a leak and other issues due to the crumbling masonry structure (all of this was unseen by me, and thanks to him I'm able to get it corrected before any further damage is done). He also suggested things that would prevent the problems from reoccurring. I later had a mason come to the home to give me an estimate of the repair work and the information that John provided to me was helpful, in explaining to the mason, exactly what I wanted.
I was very pleased with the home inspection, and the 38 page report that John provided (within just a couple of days) was extremely detailed and documented with photos. I will use continue to use this report as a reference as it also lists the items needing attention first, then those that I can attend to as time and money permit.
John was willing to drive a great distance to provide a home inspection for me, and he only charged a very small additional fee....which was WELL worth it!!!

I hired HomeWise Inspections because of the excellent reviews on Angie's List, but more importantly because of John Cundiff's credentials. I am so glad I did. As a single mother with a small child, I needed a home inspector I could really trust to do a thorough job and inform me of what I was about to get into. I really couldn't afford any costly and quot;surprisesand quot; down the road, and John did not disappoint! He was very professional. After I read the contract, he immediately got started with inspecting the roof, and he didn't just look at it..he got right up there and really inspected it. He then inspected the exterior of the home, including a dilapidated detached garage (all the while dodging hornets which had taken up residence there) he even showed me where there was evidence carpenter bees, he then moved onto the interior of the home, including the attic crawl space and basement.
John is very knowledgable and thoroughly explained any issues that the home had and spent time talking about future concerns, as well. Although John is not an and quot;alarmistand quot;, he did uncover some serious issues that I would have never known about, many of them were health and safety issues, which was one of the main concerns I had. He does not rush through the process. He spent over 3 hours on the inspection, and this was a small home (but there were many issues). I learned so much about the home during the inspection, that I fully understood the issues even before I received his inspection report. Speaking of the inspection report.... John's attention to detail is incredible! I received a 45 page report within a day or two (via email), fully documented with pictures (even examples/diagrams showing the correct way something should be done, for reference). I was able to save money on the Radon Test that was performed by using the Angie's List coupon. Although I did pay a small additional charge for HomeWise Inspections to come all the way to the far northeast corner of Geauga County, it was money well spent to get the best home inspector out there!!! I would highly recommend John Cundiff and HomeWise Inspections to anyone seeking a true professional and an inspection company that they can trust to do a through job.

John was very professional from beginning to end. We were very pleased with his punctuality and responsiveness. If he was running late, he would let us know by email of phone that he was on his way. John took the time to read some important details of the contract. He also educated us on the need for sealing the sump pump and other cracks in the basement. He warned us that if we ever decide to put in a backup sump pump, the plumber is going to complain about the seal, but that is the way it is.
As a result of the mitigation effort, the radon level was reduced from 18pci/L to 0.8 pci/L.
We were extremely pleased with the services provided and highly recommend John for home inspection as well as radon mitigation.
