They took everything down to the studs. They had to put in insulation and plaster to replace the paneling. I do not feel like they did a good job because it happened again not even a year later.

It went very smoothly. First the carpenters came in, replaced damaged parts of ceilings and walls, then the painters came in and completely repainted the ceilings and walls, and then the roofers came and repaired the section of the roof that was leaking. After they were done, they cleaned the carpets. I am very satisfied with the work done, and all of the workers from start to finish were really super guys and made an unpleasant experience much more pleasant.
