Can't encourage anyone enough to avoid this company. He admits he's just a referral service and his guy he sent - Steve Adams (definitely stay away from him as a painter too apparently) - took a $2,100 deposit and disappeared. We'll be filing small claims court against both of them.

This company uses subcontractors on jobs. Gave 3 different quotes depending on who showed up. After the 1st quote no one showed after 2 appointments were made. More problematic was the way it was handled when I called to see if the guys were coming. The guy who runs this company is unprofessional and made silly execuses for why his guys never showed. The third time someone was supposed to show, he actually did and he re-quoted the job after inspection. The quote was dropped by about $1000 over the initial quote. The last subcontractor that showed up on behalf of this company was honest and did a very good job. He saved me alot of money by letting me know that some problems that were initially quoted were not really necessary. The rating I gave would have been much worse had not this last plumber done the work so effectively and honestly.

I?ve used this company for about 4 years. They used to be wonderful. Now, I get a different plumber every time and the estimates are never on. During one of the jobs, I was charged 50% higher than what was quoted. He explained the warranty and told me to call if I had any problems. I had a problem, so I called. He became unhappy & sent out an entire crew of differnet plumbers. There are all different plumbers that work for him now. This is very disappointing. After some negotiation, these two plumbers came back out to my home, went to purchase the parts, and repaired the parts that needed to be replaced. They were pleasant and so far everything is working fine.

The gentleman arrived on time, performed the work, gave me some tips on how to prolong the clean state of the drains, chatted about my large oak tree for a few minutes, then gave me the bill, accepted my check and left. It was painless. It would have been great to have the bathrooms be slightly cleaner than he left them, but it wasn't a big mess.

He looked it the situation and proposed a fix and he went to pick up the supplies (was gone for 15-20 minutes)and returned to complete the job in 10 minutes. Great job! Professionalism was outstanding. Price was reasonable and he also taught me how to fix the issue should it come up again. Who does that?! As you can see I was impressed! He was also a man a conscience.

The repairman came out within a day and replaced the plumbing under the sink. It cost $600 but he said that it should cost more since he had to find the right sink drainers for my sink. It seemed that he did a good job and was very pleasant so I actually paid him the extra $50. Then he took apart the frozen faucet and could not find a part. He said that to fix it, someone would need to take the whole sink off the wall and install a new faucet--it would cost another $600. I decided to get a second opinion on that, and another plumber came out, took the part, got a replacement, and fixed it in 15 minutes. So I have to say that my confidence in Heights Plumbing was shaken.

Heights plumbing set this up to have Hillcrest plumbing come over to do the work on a Saturday. They took their shoes off, worked quickly, and were flexible with timing (coming on a Saturday). I would definitely recommend both Heights and Hillcrest plumbing. They handled the phone calls well, scheduled me promptly, were flexible with hours, and completed the work well and quickly.

I called for an estimate in the morning and they said they really needed to see the job first but I was unable to schedule an appointment because I needed flexibility in my day.I called for other estimates also so that I would have a ballpark idea of what the job was likely to cost. Late that afternoon they called me back to see whether I was home yet and somebody came out within half an hour. The gentleman knew what he was doing and spent time determining what the specific problem was (taking apart the diverter stem and seed in the shower) as well as proposing different options for solutions. He examined the leak in the basement and was able to determine how to fix the problem without having to replace the pipes. He was knowledgeable and experienced and resolved both the problem in the shower and the leaky valve in the basement. I particularly liked the fact that he was able to zero right in on what the problems might be without having to mess about. He was punctual and polite and I appreciated the fact that he took his shoes off in our house. I received a good price because of my Angie's discount.

The work probably took a total of 5 or 6 hours over a period of two days. I thought the final price of $2000. was awful high for the amount of time involved. I called Matt and talked to him for a half hour about the price. I had misunderstood him originally and thought that he said that the work might cost UP TO $2000. When I talked to him later he said that they charge by the job and not by the hour. Certainly he knew what he was doing and was very professional. Someone with less experience could have taken much longer and ended up botching the job, and in the end it might have cost much more. I waited a year to make this report because I didn't know quite what to say. I was completely satisfied with quality, responsiveness, punctuality, and professionalism. Only the price bothered me. I have used them before, and I will PROBABLY use them again. I will, however, make sure that I have a firm price before work is started.

He was very good, and he did a really nice job. He came when he promised, he was very neat and clean and he explained what he was doing. At the end, he drew a diagram of what he did and what was causing the problem, so that if it happened again, we could fix it ourselves. He volunteered to share that information which I thought was very nice and it made me say that if I needed somebody, I would certainly call him back. We paid $200 for the labor and the cost of replacement of the faucet.

For 3.5 hours, total, the price was far to high and amounts to gouging. I should have gotten competive quotes but was in too much of a hurry. He knew little about gas ranges and assumed that the new range was a drop in like the old one when I told him it was a slide in. He took an easy way out and installed the connection directly under the location of the stove without the required valve at the outlet above the floor, a violation of code. He drilled 4 holes in the floor before deciding on one of them and still got it wrong. The job was slipshod. He did a lot of blaming me for expressing concern about cutting out part of the floor to install the outlet properly at the back. The bottom line is that he should not have proceeded until we we both on the same page as to the right way to do so. He tried to justify the high price by telling me that parts were over $ 200.00. I priced them at Home Depot where they amounted to about $ 40.00 at most. The owner's comment will be that there was a miscommunication. The plumber failed to make it clear what exactly had to be done to do the job correctly while addressing my concern about compromising the integrity of the floor. He took the easy way out.
Response from Heights Plumbing Inc
"The first trip before anything was done we offered to put the gas line in the wall or further back in the floor but in order to do so we would have to open the wall and floor to get the pipe past the concrete footer. He decided to put the gas line away from the wall and not to open the floor or wall. We ran 15-18 feet of hard black gas line cut and threaded in the basement, along the ceiling and up through the floor to the stove. Two good quarter turn gas valves, line secured, main gas system shut off and on, as well bleeding of the line and re-lighting of all pilots. There were no leaks and the customer was happy. This took from 9am to late afternoon. We have the time dispatched to the call and also the time we were at the parts supply store to the exact minute. His wife was not at home during any of the trips. Second time out was apparently because another person said the stove wouldn't fit and the gas line had to be moved. We then came out, cut and removed the baseboard, slid the stove halfway in and showed the customer there was clearance all around. He agreed and said someone else was going to take it from there. Next time we received a call the customer said someone else said the stove wouldn't fit again which was odd considering we just were over there and did it. Plus we gave the option of continuing the install but apparently some counter work was being done. Charged the service charge and gave a generous discount because our line was not leaking, still secure and properly installed. The customer called back again the next day and was upset they did not have a stove for two weeks. The problem apparently was they ordered a push in stove/oven and they removed a drop in one. The pocket was not correct in the first place for the new stove and it was purchased first. We offered to come over right away, put the gas line back against the wall and open the floor again for a second time for a minimal discounted additional charge. We also kept in contact with the customer and offered many times and opportunities to do this immediately and before the weekend came so they would not be without a stove longer than they have been already. Apparently the customer assumed we should come back, spend more time, money on parts, and not charge them because they assumed the gas line should have been further back in the floor or in the wall. WHICH WAS WHAT WE RECOMMENDED THE FIRST TWO TIMES. But the customer instead declined, we assume, due to being hesitant of a 2 foot hole in the wall or floor which would have been hidden by the stove anyways."

It was superior service. They were here exactly when they said they would be here. They called in advance to double check what was wrong to make sure they would have all the parts they would need. They had it fixed within half an hour, which I thought was amazing. Everything is working perfectly. They were extremely nice and easy to work with. This broke late yesterday and it was fixed before 10 o'clock this morning. They have done work for us for over 20 years. We have never once had bad service from them. They have always fixed the problem and their prices are very reasonable.

Great response from the office; Matthew was dispatched to my home within the hour. He gave his assessment, which included the likelihood of repairing or servicing our furnace (it appeared we had a bad leak). After the good news (from a most-prompt PK Wadsworth H&C technician) that we simply had a faulty water-feed line for our refrigerator, Matthew was back out to the house to replace the pipe under the kitchen. He arrived within 15 min. of his projected time, worked throughout the morning, and was done and cleaned up by early afternoon. He had estimated our job at around $1,000, and graciously figured in a couple of discounts (senior citizens - although I hope he was being gratuitous! - and Angie's List) to get the final price LOWER than his guesstimate.

Matt from Heights Plumbing showed up on time and quickly repaired our garbage disposal. The cost was a bit higher than we had hoped, but it was nice to be able to use the sink again.
