+ 0 moreWe were very happy with Mike. We had been warned about many things when hiring a contractor, and were pleasantly surprised not to have any of these problems with him. He was respectful and courteous and cleaned up after himself on a daily basis. He was on the job everyday and did most of the work himself. We have a two-year-old and he was mindful of keeping her space clean, and even finishing his noisy work in time for her nap. The project was completed ahead of schedule and very much to our satisfaction. He consulted us with any major decisions, but worked independently. Mike repainted rooms that had been incidentally damaged by the construction (e.g., cracks in ceiling in room below). The materials and craftsmanship are high quality. We would hire him again and recommend him without reservation.
Description of Work: We added a dormer onto the back of our house, turning an existing bedroom into a small bedroom, adding a hallway and new master bedroom. No new plumbing was installed, but the stack had to be moved. Mike completed personally or arranged everything to finish the rooms except carpet (for which he gave us a referral). We also had Mike re-roof our garage when the addition was being roofed. Our garage ended up needing additional structural work, which Mike completed for us in a timely manner.

Description of Work: I asked this company to provide me with an estimate for a complete renovation of a family room/office. The job would require gutting the entire room and replacing walls, ceiling, and lighting.

MIKE TOOK THE TIME TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I WANTED AND DID WHAT HE NEEDED TO ENSURE I WAS DELIGHTED, HE PROMISED THE JOB SITE WOULD BE KEPT CLEAN AND IT WAS, HE ASSURED ME THAT THE JOB WOULD MEET MY EXPECTATIONS AND IT DID!! WHEN THERE WERE SUBCONTRACTOR DELAYS MIKE NEVER PLACED BLAME, BUT WORKED TO GET THE JOB DONE. HE TOOK A PICTURE OF THE 'BUILT-IN' THAT I SAW AND CREATED IT. WHEN IT ARRIVED WITH THE WRONG STAIN, HE HAD THAT FIXED IN 5 DAYS. I FELT AS THOUGH HE WAS BUILDING THIS LOWER LEVEL WITH THE KIND OF ATTENTION TO DETAIL THAT HE WOULD WANT IN HIS OWN HOME...AND I GOT EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED! WHEN I DECIDED IN MID STREAM TO CLOSE OFF THE WORK OUT AREA, WITHOUT MISSING A BEAT, HE UNDERSTOOD, SUGGESTED FRENCH DOORS, (WHICH I LOVE!) AND PUT IT IN RIGHT AWAY. I WAS SAD TO SEE HIM GO AS I HAVE NEVER, NEVER, HAD SUCH A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE BEFORE WITH A CONTRACTOR. I HAVE/WILL REFER ALL MY FRIENDS/FAMILY BECAUSE THE WORK WILL BE GREAT!
Description of Work: I NEEDED TO HAVE A GENERAL CONTRACTOR TO HELP DESIGN AND FINISH MY UNFINISHED BASEMENT. THE SIZE WAS 2000 SQUARE FEET AND I HAD A GENERAL IDEA OF WHAT I WANTED. THE JOB CONSISTED OF BUILDING A BATHROOM, WORKOUT ROOM, CEDAR CLOSET, STORAGE AREA, WET BAR AREA AND A BUILT-IN FOR THE HD TV WITH SURROUND SOUND. I WANTED SOMEONE TO HELP DESIGN THE LOOK AS I WANTED CONSISTENCY BETWEEN THE UPPER LEVELS AND LOWER LEVELS. THE TILE, THE WALLS AND THE QUALITY NEEDED TO BE JUST RIGHT AS I DID NOT WANT THIS LEVEL TO LOOK LIKE AN 'AFTER-THOUGHT'. THIS JOB WAS COMPLICATED BY THE FACT THAT I TRAVEL CONSTANTLY AND NEEDED SOMEONE WHO COULD UNDERSTAND THE NEED AND EXECUTE AGAINST THAT.

Description of Work: INSTALLED WOOD TRIM AROUND DISHWASHER WHICH WAS A CHALLENGE AS THE DISHWASHER WAS SLIGHTLY DEEPER THAN THE CABINET NEXT TO IT. ATTACHED WOOD PANEL TO COMPLETE CABINET. ATTACHED BUTCHER BLOCK TOP TO DISHWASHER. GROUNDED OUTLET AND WIRED/INSTALLED NEW SWITCH FOR GARBAGE DISPOSAL.
