I called Brian on Monday and left a message. He responded within 24 hours and told me the standard price for snaking a storm sewer drain was 150. I scheduled the work for Wednesday and told him I would leave a check for him in a designated, discrete location. He snaked the drain while I was at work and then called me after he finished. He told me a large root from a nearby tree was the main culprit - he said it would likely grow back but I'd be fine as long as I snaked the drain approx. every 2 years. He also mentioned a post-hole digger would be a good investment for me as he cleared a very large amount of debris and gravel out of the drain. He said there was a 3-month guarantee on the work completed.
Description of Work: The storm drain in the center of my driveway had been draining slowly for a few months. It was especially evident in March with the advent of spring showers. It was taking way too long to drain and I was getting worried that it would cause residual damage to the driveway. The services performed (as listed on the invoice) are: -scooped catch basin with post hole digger and removed mud -snaked catch basin outlet line into rear south corner downspout -also snaked downspout drop approx 50' - no blocked found in that line -all test good, line is open I called Brian because he had done some work on the inside plumbing of my house shortly before we moved in about 1.3 years ago (some copper pipes had been stolen before we closed on the house and we happened to bump into him the day he was completing the work). Brian is a genuinely nice guy - he takes the time to explain the problem and will even offer solutions in case you want to help prevent future clogs/leaks.
