FIVE STAR SNOW REMOVAL

Jason is a nice young man, but very unreliable, full of excuses, and irresponsible. On our very first meeting to discuss plowing our driveway, he was late. He said he would be back the next day to pound stakes, but he never did. When he did plow the driveway, he was very thorough and did a nice job. He just could not be counted on to plow the driveway in a timely manner. Sometimes it would be 4:30am, sometimes 9:00am, sometimes you had to call him and tell him you needed him to plow the driveway so you could get to work and then he would show up at the last possible second, always with an excuse about the weather being bad, traffic terrible, etc. I think the last two snow storms just did him in. For the first of the big snowstorms, we had to call him to have the driveway plowed. He showed up at 9:30am. This past snowstorm, he just didn't show up, didn't call, didn't return my call, and when I called a second time he had a voice recording detailing how the weather was destroying his truck but that he would get to everyone. I missed a day of work because of his irresponsibility. Needless to say, we haven't heard from him since. I just pray there is no more plowable snow.

There have been two major snow storms this season on which he did not plow my driveway AT ALL on the days of the storms. The first time this happened, he claimed that conditions were terrible, and his truck broke, so he had to get a friend to help. Maybe that would be acceptable once, but even then, I expect my driveway to be plowed on that day, even if it happens late. However, it is ridiculous for this to happen twice. In one season. A month apart. If his truck is not reliable, he needs a new truck. Prior to these incidents, he was OK. He didn't always come out here on his own (and I'm not exactly out in the middle of nowhere), but he always responded to phone calls. However, to not plow my driveway at all, on two major storms in one season, is so far from acceptable that you should not hire this guy. I have a new theory on snow plow people. Never hire one guy with one truck. If his truck has problems, you are out of luck. Go with somebody who sends out multiple trucks.

I think that my home was at the far edge of his service area. That might explain why he didn't get to my home in a timely fashion and why I had to txt him too often. This was a big problem for us during multi-day storms.

Overall, I was very happy with them. The price was very reasonable.
