EXCELLECTRIC PENKO'S PLUMBING

Mike arrived on time and started the very involved project. I have an older home, built in the 50's. The fan was to be installed in a downstairs powder room. The difficulty was that the only access above that room was a small tub access on the second floor. Mike cut a hole in the ceiling and was able to run the wiring using only that and the upstairs access panel. He ran into some other difficulties, there was a ton of cellulose insulation that fell out when he cut the hole in the ceiling. Also , he had to secure the fan which took some creativity because of duct work in the ceiling and the small space that he was working in. He was able to complete the entire project without disturbing the wallpaper except for where he placed the switch. the fan was vented to the outside perfectly placed and secured to the side of the house with a cover to prevent birds and insects from entering .The switch took a bit of extra care, it is electronic and required extra wiring. No problem for Mike,he can handle any kind of unforeseen complication. The toilet was 3 years old and not flushing properly, mike determined that it only needed a few minor adjustments while Toto said that I needed replacement parts. No parts were needed and now it flushes perfectly.

He does everything very well. He is very thorough and meticulous. He is a licensed plumber and licensed electrician. He is very versatile. He will find out problems as he is doing things and gives recommendations. He goes above and beyond what you fire him for. He also looks at safety. I have used him for so long that I have not compared the price with anybody else. I rate him high overall.

I discussed the job with Mike (owner) over the phone. Luckily he was able to schedule the job while I was on vacation and available because the job required several hours to complete. Mike arrived on time, we again discussed the job. The job was somewhat complicated since my house is 50 yrs old with old wiring. Mike was able to run the new line for the microwave by making one hole in the cupboard and then fishing the line into the basement where he set up a separate curcuit for the microwave. He also replaced 4 light fixtures , some needed adjusments to make it work.I added another job, he took down an old light fixture and clock that were wired together and behind the wall, impossible for me to work with. He cleaned up when he was finished. I got Mike's name from Angies list 10 years ago and he has done several jobs for me since, always expertly and to perfection. He is very knowledgable and skilled.

I had a massive short circuit in my family room which did not allow for the breaker to be simply "flipped" because it would continue spark. Consequently, we were without power in part of our Family Room and part of our Kitchen. I called him and he said he would let me know the next day when he could come. By 6:00 pm the next day I still hadn't heard from him and called again. He was at a job that he was able to leave and he came right over. He replaced the wall socket and checked the wiring and said it was okay. He taped up the wires leading to the socket and gave me a new wall socket and faceplate to replace the burned ones. He charged his minimum call charge - $90. We were very happy with his service. We would have liked the charge to be less for the amount of work he did.

I have used him before for other services. He is honest and shows up when he says he will. He cleans up afterwards and neat. He knows how to do everything correctly. He never cuts corners and is very thorough.

He does does top quality work, he is very meticulous and neat. He goes above and beyond the call of duty. I found him to be very helpful.

Everything is working fine and he did a good job. He was not very punctual. He let us know his van broke down and would be a couple hours late which would have been 4 but he finally arrived at 6. The same thing happened the second day but the third day he came around 10 and finished about 7.

MIKE OFFERED VERY HELPFUL ADVICE WHEN OUR OLD SINK STARTED LEAKING, SO WE COULD DETERMINE HOW TO PROCEED WITHIN OUR BUDGET. REPLACED THE SINK AND MADE THE ENTIRE REPAIR LOOK FANTASTIC. I'VE HIRED MIKE SEVERAL TIMES FOR ELECTRIC AND PLUMBING WORK, AND WILL AGAIN. HE IS PLEASANT TO WORK WITH, RELIABLE, AND COMMITTED TO DOING QUALITY WORK. HE IS SOMETIMES VERY BUSY, BUT ALWAYS TRIES TO WORK IN A NEW JOB IN A TIMELY MANNER. DOES A LOT OF WORK IN THE EVENING, WHICH CAN BE HELPFUL WITH WORK SCHEDULES.

MIKE ALWAYS RESPONDS QUICKLY TO CALLS, AND TRIES TO FIT THE WORK INTO HIS SCHEDULE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I KNOW I CAN RELY ON HIM TO DO A PROFESSIONAL JOB; HE IS VERY RELIABLE.

HE DOES A GREAT JOB.

RECOMMENDED DIGGING INTO BASEMENT FOR PIPE REPLACEMENT, WHICH WOULD HAVE COST $1500 OR MORE. I CALLED FOR A SECOND OPINION FROM ANOTHER PLUMBER, WHO FIXED IT FOR $350. VERY UNHAPPY THAT THIS COMPANY CHARGED SO MUCH FOR A WRONG OPINION. I'M NOT A PLUMBER & I THOUGHT HIS PROPOSED SOLUTION DIDN'T MAKE SENSE. LOOKS LIKE I WAS VINDICATED.

I CALLED MIKE THE PLUMBER ON A SUNDAY MORNING AFTER DISCOVERING MY BASEMENT LAUNDRY DRAIN WAS BACKING UP WITH SEWAGE. MIKE RETURNED MY CALL WITHIN HALF AN HOUR. HE ALREADY HAD A JOB LINED UP FOR THAT SUNDAY BUT AGREED TO CALL ME AFTER HE COMPLETED THAT JOB. HE CALLED THAT EVENING AND ARRIVED WITHIN A HALF HOUR. MIKED WORKED HARD FOR SEVERAL HOURS TO CLEAR THE DRAIN. MIKE IS VERY PROFESSIONAL, WORKS HARD, AND DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB CLEANING UP AFTERWARDS. PRICE WAS REASONABLE FOR AFTER HOURS WORK.

THE DRAIN UNCLOGGING WENT VERY WELL. ONE OF THE SINKS HAD BEEN CONSTRUCTED IN SUCH A WAY THAT THE TRAP WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE IN THE NORMAL WAY, SO HE USED A HACKSAW TO CUT OUT PART OF A PIPE AND THEN CLEANED THE TRAP. IT SEEMS LIKE AN OVERALL IMPROVEMENT. FOR THE DRIPS, HE DID WHAT HE COULD, AND IT SEEMS TO HAVE WORKED. HE SAID OUR PLUMBING IS VERY OLD (WHICH IS TRUE) AND IS LIKELY TO START DRIPPING AGAIN. AN ANCIENT FAUCET HANDLE BROKE IN THE PROCESS, AND HE WENT OUT AND FOUND A REPLACEMENT THAT WASN'T AN EXACT MATCH BUT IS PROBABLY AS GOOD AS COULD BE EXPECTED. HE DEFINITELY MADE THE EFFORT.

HE IS SO METICULOUS, WHICH IS HARD TO FIND. HE'S AN INSPECTOR, SO HE KNOWS THE CODE VERY WELL. I HAVE USED HIM PREVIOUSLY ON A LARGER PROJECT AND HAVE BEEN CONSISTENTLY PLEASED WITH HIS WORK.

MIKE IS A ONE MAN SHOW AND IS EXTREMELY QUALIFIED. HE TAKES HIS TIME AND DOES THE JOB RIGHT. HE IS AN OLD-FASHIONED CRAFTSMAN.

VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE IN HIS FIELD,PLEASURE TO WORK WITH.

VERY PROFESSIONAL AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. HE KNOWS WHAT IS UP TO CODE AND WHAT ISNT. WORK IS JUST EXCELLENT.

A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH. GETS THE JOB DONE.

CAREFUL, NEAT WORK. PROMPT AND FRIENDLY SERVICE. MADE A SPECIAL EFFORT TO SCHEDULE THE WORK WITHIN ONE WEEK OF INITIAL CALL. I AM VERY COMFORTABLE WITH MIKE''S ABILITY TO DO THE JOB CORRECTLY AND WOULD NOT HESITATE TO CALL ON HIM AGAIN.

THE QUALITY OF ALL THE WORK DONE WAS TOP NOTCH AND VERY REASONABLE. I WOULD DEFINITELY CALL MIKE AGAIN FOR FUTURE ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING OR HEATING/AC JOBS I NEEDED DONE.

OUR KITCHEN SINK FAUCET SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING; MIKE CAME OUT THAT SAME DAY, DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM, AND WORKED WITH ME TO MAKE A DECISION AS TO WHETHER TO REPLACE THE SET OR REPAIR IT. WHEN ASKED TO REPLACE IT, HE GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE TO DO THE WORK IMMEDIATELY, AND FINISHED UP IN LESS TIME THAT ESTIMATED. WHILE REPLACING THE FAUCET, HE NOTICED THAT THE LINE TO THE DISHWASHER WASN'T PROPERLY ATTACHED, AND HE REPAIRED THAT AS WELL. AS ALWAYS, MIKE'S WORK WAS EXCELLENT. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

MIKE DID OUTSTANDING WORK! OUR HOUSE IS 60+ YEARS OLD, SO RUNNING NEW WIRE WAS A CHORE. OUR CITY REQUIRES INSPECTIONS OF THIS TYPE OF WORK, AND THE INSPECTOR WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE QUALITY OF MIKE'S WORK. NOT ONLY DID HE REPLACE THE FUSE BOXES WITH ONE CIRCUIT PANEL, HE REPLACED MANY OF THE METAL CONDUITS IN THE BASEMENT, RATHER THAN JUST SPLICING THEM, KEEPING EVERYTHING LOOKING VERY NEAT. MIKE PATCHED NOT ONLY THE HOLES HE HAD TO MAKE IN THE WALLS AND CEILINGS, BUT ALSO REPAIRED SEVERAL OTHER CRACKS NEARBY. HE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND WHAT WAS CONTRACTED, AND DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. WHEN HE WAS FINISHED, EVERYTHING WAS NEAT, CLEAN, AND WORKED AND LOOKED GREAT!

I FEEL THAT I HAD AN OUTSTANDING JOB DONE FOR ME. I AM CALLING HIM AGAIN TO DO SOME PLUMBING WORK
