Elliott Kirth was referred to me by another Angie's List-located service provider. That provider who I don't recall as it was 6 months ago recommended Elliott because of the type of door I needed. When Elliott and I met, he listened carefully to what I wanted. While we would try to use as much standard material as possible, because of my exacting desires, there was going to need to be a fair amount of custom work. Elliott was always confident that he could do it and that I would be satisfied with his work.
It took several months for Elliott to locate a standard door as close as possible to my needs. He kept me informed of his progress. Although exactly what I wanted was not available, Elliott offered me not only options but his expert opinion, and was patient with my considerations and questions.
Elliott gave me a quote and he accepted the upfront cost to order the door.
Eventually the day came for installation. I was able to be there when he and his assistant started and for about 50% of the job before I had to leave for work. I left everything in his hands.
I was ecstatic when I returned home. The workmanship was just what I wanted. The door hung correctly, was square, and swung freely. All of the hardware and trim I wanted reused looked like it had never been removed. To me. it is beautiful.
It cost a fair amount but I wanted perfection and I'd rather pay a little bit more and get what I want than try to go lowest cost and be unhappy (like every day I go in and out of that door). Sometimes quality costs.
