It was a good service. They called back in a timely manner.

Last summer (2018) Derrick paved our asphalt driveway, and it looked much better than anticipated. We contracted with him to seal the driveway a few months later, and that proved to be a big mistake. The driveway was supposed to be sealed before winter, but for one reason/excuse or another, it did not get done until summer of 2019. Shortly after the sealing was completed, numerous cracks appeared in the driveway, and weeds started appearing through the newly-sealed driveway. When I tried to get Derrick to fix these problems, he always had an excuse for not showing up. Most recently, he was supposed to fix the cracks and the sealing on the Friday before Labor Day weekend. When he saw the size of some of the cracks, he said he did not bring the proper equipment to fix them but would be back on Labor Day. Derrick never showed up and never called. His litany of excuses and lack of professionalism is inexcusable. I would never use him again.

I would not recommend Derrick and Discount Quality Paving. The job was substandard. Derrick was very communicative prior to payment, but after he was combative, rude, and unresponsive. Please consider another company for your needs. The overall quality of the repairs were below average. Per the signed proposal that was executed on 3/6/2019 these are the items where Derrick failed to deliver: 1. Apply crack-filler; 2. Install 2 1/2" of hot asphalt; 3. Apply professional grade sealcoat within 30-45 days of resurface completion. Crack filler was not applied to the area of the driveway that was seal-coated. Seal-coat was applied directly over weeds and moss, and washed off within weeks of application. The top coat of asphalt that was applied on the bottom half of the driveway was not thick enough in many areas and grass began growing through the new asphalt within weeks. The seal-coat that was used on the back half of the driveway was standard consumer grade sealant that can be purchased at Home Depot and seal coat was not applied to the new top coat with 30-45 days. I initially contacted Derrick with my concerns and he admitted that he was not happy with the quality of seal-coat used and would come out to repair. After nearly a month when the repairs were not completed I called Derrick and he accused me of attempting to get free services. We made an appointment for him to come out, but he was not available on the agreed day. Again when I called he was combative and hung up on me. He did call back to apologize, but again failed to deliver on promises to rectify the issues. I paid a little extra compared to other quotes I received because Derrick lives a few streets over and I wanted to support someone local. However, that was a mistake. He was willing to work within my budget, but I expected the agreed upon tasks to be completed in a satisfactory manner. Please don't make the same mistake on your project.

A very bad experience

There were a few small cracks in our driveway and the entire driveway needed to be resealed. The work was completed extremely quickly and there were no issues. Our driveway looks ten times better.

It went well. I was out of town for four days. He was to have completed the work prior to my return. When I returned, the work was done in a very professional manner.

The driveway prior to Discount Quality Paving Co repair was in poor condition. Several large holes and numerous cracks. Derrick made a very fair bid on the job. He had a crew come out within two days and make all the necessary repairs. The driveway looks great.

Very nice work. Extremely easy to work with, I had issues with my travel and he got the job done while I was away. Derrick does the job at a fair price.

Great! Derrick was very responsive, answering all my questions, very nice to work with. His crew was professional and fast. I'm pleased with the results!

The work was done properly and the quality of work was very good. However, scheduling the work was an issue with one appointment being missed and then having the contractor ask if they could come earlier than the date originally scheduled. This really bounced around my schedule to meet theirs, but I would certainly hire them again for the work they did, just make sure we were clear on date and time for the work to be done.

Mr Edward's crew was prompt and polite. They did a good job with asphalt patching including one about 4x 6 feet. The sealcoat was brushed in thoroughly and neatly. The surface prep was good: they detailed the edging and blew it off well before application.

I had called Mr. Edwards in the fall of 2015 for an estimate. He came out right away and gave the estimate which I had told him the work will be done in the spring of 2016. About the beginning of May we set up the date 5/17/16. The crew came out on the 17th took removed broken concrete and prepared the surface for asphalt. On 5/18/16 the asphalt was laid. Mr. Edwards and crew did an excellent job. The driveway is beautiful and still looks like new after winter. We will get it sealed soon.

The company came out quickly and did a fantastic job. Right after they applied the seal coat it had rained. And the owner even came out to make sure it was reapplied properly! It was a great experience start to finish and I would absolutely recommend them.

I had a problem with some spots that needed to get fixed, Derek came out and marked them to be fixed next week. Other people gave him "B" for responsiveness and punctuality, I did not have any problem with this. One of my neighbors has asked who did my driveway and is interested in some work

Derrick and his crew did a wonderful job on our driveway. We got a few quotes and Derrick's was definitely the most responable. We had some intense cracking at the bottom of the drive and an electronic gate that we were nervous about working around but the work was done seamlessly and in only 1.5 days. The crew did a wonderful job removing a large section by the gate so that the new asphault wouldn't prevent it opening. The new driveway looks wonderful and we are kicking ourselves that we should have done it years ago! All debree was picked up and removed and the house was left good as new, actually better with the new drive! Would definitely recommend and will use Derrick for any future projects.

   Everything we discussed was completed in a very professional way.  The job was done as planned, and completed neatly.
 The driveway was blocked off until it was dry, and when it was dry, they removed the cones. The project took two days, one to fill the cracks and one to surface the driveway with sealer.  I especially liked the way he handled communications with my rental property tenants.  He was clear and understanding.  Overall the job was almost "painless" for me and my tenants.

Derrick was very responsive, got the city permit to do the work and started on time. He and his team got it all done in one day. Despite a screaming match between some of the crew at one point, they were otherwise all very polite and professional.  The guys arguing later apologized for their behavior and Derrick apologized when he returned at the end of the day. They cleaned up and hauled away the debris. I was very happy with their work.
