CUSTOM DESIGN COUNTERTOPS

I am so happy with my new Kitchen countertops made and installed by Custom Design Countertops. I have been wanting to replace my 25 + year dutch blue countertops for several years but I was not satisfied with the selection nor the quality of the sheet laminate at the big box stores.  I started to research on Angie's list and found Custom Design. They responded quickly, measured my space and I ended up choosing a Wilsonart HD laminate shade called Crystalline Shell. It is a wonderful mix of so many colors and this laminate has color, texture and shine which I don't see in many other laminates. This shade also works really well with my stock golden oak cabinets that are 25 years old and my fairly new stainless steel appliances. With a new sink and faucet, I feel like I have an updated kitchen and I am thrilled.  Dave also worked with me when almost at the end, I decided to purchase a new kitchen cabinet base which delayed the island installation that was ready to go. I love my new countertop! It looks great and I have received many compliments on it.  Dave C. did an excellent job installing the countertop. He came to my house and gave me an estimate. He listened to my concerns relating to my budget. My husband was able to take out the countertop and install the new sink, which helped keep costs down. He gave me his opinion on my color selections. He also recommended which finish would look the nicest. With his recommendations I was able to select a laminate color and finish that looks wonderful. The install went smoothly and took only a couple hours. My countertop required to two pieces due to a support beam in the middle of it and he made sure everything was level. Dave C. was very professional and prompt as he answered my calls/texts quickly and finished this job a couple days before I was expecting. Overall, this was an excellent experience and I am very happy with my new countertop. I highly recommend this company!

Called Dave and he told me to drop off the board the next day.  He had it done by Noon and it was a perfect job.

Dave came out and measured and showed us samples of laminate and solid surface counters. He gave us a rough estimate on the cost of each. My wife wanted to go with the solid as she thought laminate would look cheap. I wanted the laminate becaue the solid surface is overpriced in my opinion. I would have rather just upgraded to quartz if we were going to get over the $4000 range. Dave assured her that the laminate would not look cheap. We decided to go with it. He left us the sample finishes. We agreed on one within a few days and let him know. He ordered it and we were instructed to get a sink and faucet for his plumber to install. Dave uodated me throughout his manufacturing process and even sent me photos of the progress. The day of the install he was right on time. The job took about four hours and they were on their way. We were stunned. It is beautiful. Way better than we expected for the money. The product is a fantastic bargain. The kitchen was changed instantly. Could not be happier with the entire process. I highly recommend Custom Design Countertops.

Once I stopped in and met Dave and looked at the sample laminate I knew these were the people I wanted to do the work.
Dave came over and measured the area and gave us some suggestions on some changes we could make (mostly the depth of the counter, an excellant suggestion that worked out really well) 
Dave came out about a week after the mesurements with the tops made up and ready to go. He did the job with the help of
his plumber Mark and completely took out all the old stuff. The job took about 3 to 4 hours from start to finish.
It looks amazing and my kitchen is something I am proud of. I didn't think a laminated top could look this good but with the
dark color I chose it looks a lot like granite.
I would recommend them to anyone in need of a new laminated countertop.

Everything was wonderful.  Dave was professional and a lot of fun to work with.  The counters look amazing and I am so glad I had the work done, wish I had done it years ago.  Everything went according to schedule.  Were in and out in about 3 hours.  Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for counters.

My call was answered promptly and we set up a mutually agreeable time to measure my kitchen and select a laminate. In three days my counters were fabricated and delivered. We chose to install them ourselves and saved a nice piece of change. I couldn't be happier with this company.

I have been researching counters for the past 3 years as our kitchen was in need of a make-over. I found out about this company from a local TV consumer reporter who had his own counters installed by this company and was impressed by their service. I researched the materials and this company and was impressed with the ratings. I emailed the company and was contacted Dave Coughlin at Custom Design Counters a few day later and made an appointment to view the product and measurements. Dave was both prompt and professional during the intial inspection. Due to his knowledge and expertise, he was able to provide us with some good suggestions for both the product and installation. We changed our minds on the placement of the sink twice and Dave was both helpful and patient with us. Dave was both the fabricator and installer of the countertops.
After finalizing the details, it took approximately 3 weeks to fabricate and install which was fine with us due to other commitments on our part. On the day of installation, Dave was again prompt, friendly and professional. The plumber , Mark Lingo who assisted Dave with the detach and reinstall of the plumbing and garbage disposal was also very professional.
My husband and I are very happy with our new counters and our experience with Custom Design Countertops. The quality of the product is excellent and the professionalism of Dave and Mark was outstanding.

The service was excellent.  They were very friendly, did a great job, and they worked well with my budget.  I would recommend them.

There are some very expensive companies out there that don't do any better of a job. I have spent much time researching countertop surfaces, fabricators and installers. This company is more than fair in their pricing and quality. Occasionally, you will have to be patient with phone calls being returned. But that's a small price to pay for what you recieve.

The installation went quickly (2-1/2 houts) because the measurements  were accurately taken. The installers were professional & friendly and handled the small problems the occurred during instillation.

It took just a bit longer to schedule the installation date because the laminate we selected was out of stock. Dave was very apologetic about the delay. When the materials were available, we scheduled the installation for a date that was convenient for us. The entire job took about 4 1/2 hours and was done very well. Besides replacing the countertops, they built a very attractive backsplash behind the kitchen counters. The pass-through counter (which had been done many years back by someone who was far from a craftsman!) was rather an unknown quantity, but Dave did a great job with the new countertop - very neat work. The laminate looks beautiful - very much like stone. It has transformed our kitchen! We are extremely pleased.

I was extremely pleased with this service. They were very responsive and offered a ballpark quote over the phone. I then emailed some sketches of the work and they came to the house to give a final estimate. It was a very customized piece and Dave spent a lot of time with me getting the measurements exactly as I wanted. He even called during the manufacture just to double check some of the specs. He then completed the work in just 3 days, exactly as promised for the exact price. I think the work is an incredible value and they clearly take pride their work.

Quick and sloppy installation made this a very disappointing and regretable experiense. After ripping off the old tops he rough chiseled the glue from the cabinet tops. Little attempt was made to cleanup the mess in and on the cabinets before laying on the new countertops. Consequently the tops are not sitting flat and firmly on the cabinets. One of the tops wobbled corner-to-corner. Caulk was applied in the corner between backsplash and countertop and THEN the holes were drilled for the faucet. This left particles and debris in the wet caulk, which was not corrected. When he left I discovered lots of silicone caulk drops and smears all over the new tops that took me a day and a half to clean up. His cleanup consisted of a course broom sweep of the floor. The new tops, insides of cabinets, and the floor were a mess.

They did everything as promised without any problems.

They were good and were priced right. We would use their services in the future too.

Dave came over and made a template of my kitchen counter and gave me a price that saved me quite a bit as compared to Lowe's and Home Depot. What was especially nice is the counter was installed the very next week. I would have had to wait 3 weeks if I had to order from the other stores. The installation went really smooth and everything fit perfectly. I love the counter top. It is beautiful.

They came the next day to give us an estimate. When we gave them our work schedule, they were very co-operative about planning the job. They showed up on time and did an awesome job and finished everything in one day! When I came home from work, I couldn't believe they were really here because everything was cleaned up and the new countertops were beautiful. I would have them do work for us again.

The project went very well. Their field rep, Dave, gave me an estimate over the phone for a solid surface countertop with sink bowls. He then came out to the house to measure and brought color samples to pick from. The installation was about an 1 1/2 hours and the countertop looks great. I would highly recommend their services and will definitely use them again.

The counter fit perfectly and when your house was built in 1868 everything is a little uneven and unlevel so I was very pleased with the fit. The guys worked extra hard to get the counter in to the kitchen in one piece when they could have taken the easy way out and cut it in half, leaving me with a seam down the middle. I was very pleased that they made the extra effort. They were quick and worked well with the other contractors that were also in the house installing cabinets and a dishwasher. The best part, they took the old counter with them!

Dave came out twice, once for the quote, and once to get a detailed template for a section of our countertop, that was uniquely shaped, to verify that they would cut their laminate correctly. I also, asked him for references and called three former clients, who were very satisfied with their work. They did a fantastic job, were almost $1,000 cheaper than Lowe's and Home Depot, and brought a great plumber in to replace our sink and faucet, that same install day for a reasonable price. I would use them again.
