Crucial provided data recovery on a hard drive that failed. Although they did recover a major portion of the lost data, I found communications difficult, did not explain the service well or how to access my data, and upon delivery and pick-up of my drive, I thought the office was a mess and did not make a good impression. The communication was far better before than after the sale.

Crucial Data Recovery didn't charge anything to look at the problem and see if they could recover the data and they could not recover the data so that was fine.

We called to find out where to drop off the hard drive and ask questions, the guy answered and gave us information, we dropped it off. A few days later he emailed to let us know what was wrong and what it would cost. We dropped off a back-up drive for him to put our information on. We picked it up a day or two later and we had our information back. The price was good for how much it could have been somewhere else or with other hard drive problems. We were able to use a coupon we found on their site. Good experience overall and quick service.

No hesitation in giving CDR five stars. CDR quoted realistic prices and stuck to them. Their analysis of my disc when I sent it to them was completely consistent with my own analysis, so I felt comfortable with the onesty of the diagnosis - not a small issue when sending one's valuable data off to the other side of the country. No data recovery is cheap, of course, but they were cheap compared to any other price I found, and incredibly cheap compared to the cost of trying to recreate my data. I certainly didn't suffer any sort of bait-and-switch on the pricing, which is a problem I've seen with reviews of other data recovery services. The price certainly seems fair given what they had to do in order to recover my data. I got back 100% of my data. Everything was done promptly and without hassle, even though it all happened over the xmas break. They even sold me a USB disc onto which to put my recovered data at a thoroughly competitive price, thereby saving me the cost and inconvenience of shipping them one. I'd certainly use them again without hesitation, though of course I hope never to have to!
