Two years ago our 15-year old 80%-efficient gas furnace started having problems with the electronic board. Changing it would have cost $500 Thus, we decided to substitute the furnace with a 95% efficient furnace. We contacted three or four heating companies, but Collins Cooling and Heating had a good discount for Angie's list members and decided to try it. Mr. Collins installed the furnace in an afternoon. In the following days there were a few glitches as it always happens when a complex system is put to work for the first time but Mr. Collins took care of them promptly. He also extended the warranty on the work from one to two years. Two months ago, our heating system stopped working. Collins H&C sent a repairman who cleaned the burner and the furnace started. After few hours, the furnace stopped again. Mr Collins came to see it after working hours and found out that the problem was a faulty connection in the house electrical system far from the furnace. He repaired it for free. Overall, we are very pleased with the furnace and with the service Collins C&H provides.

From my 1st call they responded within a few days for an estimate. I inquired about a few possible upgrades and was given pros and cons with no pressure and even given some advice, by Steve Collins, to "save my money". The estimate was quite fair so they were given the "go ahead" on the spot. Other estimates we received had lesser warranties, the furnace and a/c units were by companies that I never heard of with so-so reviews on the internet, the offered units were less efficient and the prices were higher. No brainer to pass. I called with a few questions before the slated install date and Steve was courteous and prompt in handling my concerns. On the install date the workers were prompt, friendly, courteous and clean. The finished installation was completed on time ins integrated perfectly into my existing ductwork. Everything works as it should. Collins Cooling and Heating made the unhappy task of replacing a worn out furnace and a/c as pleasant as possible at a reasonable cost, Highly recommended.

It's unfortunate that your new furnace suffered damage from the basement flooding, but I'm glad it wasn't too bad. Some HVAC companies still charge for labor costs. as in your case of the basement flooding. that was not caused by the HVAC system, however we don't. We feel that its bad enough that you have to have to deal with water backing up in your basement, and would never charge for labor costs while it's is under our labor warranty. The manufacture may not cover the parts due to it being under water, however we feel that we can at very least save you the cost of installing them. I hope this level of customer service is just another reason you continue to chose us to install new HVAC systems your homes. Thank you again Steve Collins"

Excellent. Steve is a great guy. He came out on a Friday evening and his was unbelievably good to talk to. He treats you like family and is very honest about not selling you more than you need. His pricing was less for both the Central air and a new furnace with a humidifier, than a couple other local companies rough quoted for just the AC. He actually came out, quoted, and installed before 1 company, which is literally up the street from me, could even come out to quote. And Steve and his team where courteous, knowledgeable, and enjoyable to have around doing the work. They showed and explained exactly what they were doing, and then went over the system operation. My wife has MS and the AC was great for her this summer, and the Furnance and the humidifier has made a tremendous difference in our house this winter. And our heating and cooling bills are lower. He uses top of the line equipment, but makes it affordable. We cannot thank Steve enough. My son just bought a house, and once he has the keys, Steve will be our first call to come out and check out the furnaces and AC.

Steve and his crew showed up on time on one of the coldest days so far this season. They began work around 10:30 and were finished at about 3:00. They did a fine job and took time to go over everything with me when they finished. No problems and the cost was pretty unbeatable.

The work went well. Steve and team a whole day and couple hours on the next day to finish up. They did a good job and removed all the old stuff. They even removed some gas lines that were not going to be needed anymore. The setup is really clean and we were able to finish part of the basement with clean lines after they were done.

It went well. Done in one day. Our basement was totally clean when they left. We had a couple of initial setting issues with the water heater and the furnace and Steve came out himself along with one of his installers to make the fix.

I've actually used him not only on my own houses, but on houses that I'm a realtor. I rehab houses on behalf of the bank. So he has done a multitude of properties for me and for major banks. He probably does a couple a year for me. It was a situation where it was from an inspection on a house that the property failed the inspection because the heat exchanger was cracked in the furnace. So in order to close the sale and transfer the property it had to be quickly taken care of. Otherwise it wouldn't have closed. It had already failed inspection and you only have so much before the customer says I don't want the house. The condition of the sale was to have it replaced. There are no improvements I can think of. I absolutely would use them again.

I've been using him for 20 years. Obviously it was February 1st. It was probably 20 degrees outside. It was 10 o'clock at night. The furnace went out. It was a furnace that he had put in 20 years ago, or 15 years ago. So, I trusted his judgement. He came out in the middle of the night and replaced the furnace so the tenants had heat. I would absolutely use them again.
