Cages by Jim

Everything went great. Jim's team came out quickly and identified a few spots where animals were getting into our attic. After removing the animals, all 3 entry points were sealed. They also decontaminated our attic. The customer service was fantastic.

It took several weeks but the moles were caught. Jim tamped down the mole hills and we have not had a problem since. We purchased the year-long protection package. Should any moles invade the lawn again, we just need to call Jim and he will come out and set traps again..

They did an excellent job. All critters were caught and removed quickly. After the steel grate was installed we have had no further problems.

Groundhogs an annual issue. Critters were digging under an extension of the house and around a very large deck area. Used my own methods to capture over the years with sporadic success. Finally called Jim who trapped 2 groundhogs. Then contracted with Jim for exclusion work. The trap setup and capture totaled approximately $175. The exclusion cost approximately $1800, but covers a very large area. Groundhog not trapped has tried to come back and digs, but unable to get in.

They were fine. They didn't have to do very much. They just went up and saw some droppings and came back and set some traps, so it wasn't very involved. I hope I don't have to use them again, but I guess I would. I think he set the traps and then came back a few days later, so it took maybe a week or so. It turned out to be a couple of chipmunks, I guess. I think it was just one guy; I didn't really see him much.

Excellent staff. They removed the chipmunks and found their entryway and sealed it up and alerted me to other problem areas to fix.

He came out and trapped a large raccoon and then came back because we discovered there was a mama as well. She had jumped through the roof, causing damage and he repaired the hole that she made. He continued to monitor the traps for us and was very helpful in ridding us of the raccoons. I would recommend to others.

I received a phone call within an hour from Marv. He offered to come assess that same day as I was in his route. He provided a humane solution. He secured the cage to my roof where the squirrels were getting in, as well as set clear expectations on what to expect after. Needless to say, he was right. The squirrels came back a couple hours later and tried hard to get back in. We left the cage up for a week to ensure no additional critters, and he came back to take it down and close up the opening. Although I hope I won't need to use the services again, in the event I need them, Marv from Cages by Jim will be my first contact and referral.

Mark was very through checking in our house for mice and squirrels.  He set some traps, put mesh around an attic fan and caulked some areas on the exterior of our house. He was prompt, courteous and really knows his business. I was very pleased with the work and I would use him again.

Not only is their guy, Mark, courteous, prompt in communication, fearless in climbing around your house, but also he knows an incredible amount about animals and their behavior, etc. He doesn't complain about the freezing cold weather, and he seems to really care. He also knows exactly what to do, when, and gives you a fair and honest price for his time.
What a treasure this guy is!   He's my Indiana Jones!

A skunk had gotten into the fenced enclosure we have on the back of our house for our dogs. We discovered it on a Sunday morning when we let the dogs out. One of the dogs got sprayed a bit. Despite leaving the gate open the skunk would not leave. We were concerned whether we would be able to get someone to come out on a Sunday but we called Cages by Jim. He said he would be there in 15 - 20 minutes and he was. Jim and his wife are nice people. Jim was very professional and removed the skunk quickly. Hopefully we will not need to but if we need his services we would not hesitate to call him again.

They placed 2 cages on two side of my 10 x 8 shed where there were tunnel holes under the shed.  Caught mother and baby groundhog by the next day.  They came and reset the traps very promptly, the same day if I called before 9am.  We saw 3 more young ground hogs out looking for the rest of their clan so we now new there were more to catch.  Caught one the next day.  Took several more weeks to catch the remaining members of the ground hog family.  In the mean time, managed to catch 3 raccoons that I was not planning on.  Spoke with Jim and he recommended closing the traps at night and opening the in the morning since ground hogs feed during the day, and raccoons at night. 
Very good service.  Have used before and highly recommend.

.While searching for a service provider for a mice problem, I realized that I never reviewed Cages by Jim for a job he did almost 2 years ago. My gutter cleaner recommended him after she advised that squirrels were repeatedly tearing open the chicken wire she placed in my soffit. Squirrels are extremely stubborn & difficult to remove and you do not want them in your house. I trust her so I called Cages by Jim and they came out within a week I believe.  Not only removed the squirrel family (humanely, they take the animals far away to release) but he built what he called a "squirrel proof" soffit.  I can say that almost 2 years later it has held, no squirrels in there.  I wish he did mice removal but I believe they focus on larger animals only.  I'd hire him again, but I truly hope I never have to!

We had been battling birds and their droppings on the front of our beautiful new home (a Victorian with lots of nooks and crannies for
birds to roost) for a few months before we resorted to calling Cages by Jim. They were prompt and responsive with getting us an estimate and with scheduling the job. We have a historical home with original molding so I was worried about installing anything that wouldn?t look period of out of place. Their tech was amazing to work with ? he put up metal coil on one window and had me look at it
and approve it before he installed it on the other windows. He also got paint to match the molding (and had me okay that also) so the coil was nearly undetectable and looked like it was part of the original molding. Unfortunately our first attempt at banishing the birds was unsuccessful (we found bird droppings the next day) but Cages by Jim came right back out and figured out where the birds were nesting (they had moved from their original spot and found a new place to roost) and put in additional coils underneath the eaves of our roof.
To finally able to put out a welcome mat and to not have to instruct visitors to step over the massive pile of bird droppings is pretty
great. And, after the second time out, the tech said that if any birds come back that he would personally sit in the front yard with a pellet gun :)

getting rid of bats is a process.  not an issue of catching them, but rather identifying access points, blocking re-entry, then sealing acess so they can't return.  must be done before bats go dormant in winter.  Cages by Jim called me back promptly,  spent hours on roof to identify areas, place one way valves, then seal all those areas when confident bats were gone. also cleaned attic floor. Professional, on time, efficient and effective.  Worth the expense: no bats in the attic or walls!!   Would hire them again if needed.

He was very friendly, thorough, and helpful.  We greatly appreciate him getting this fixed for us.

I am very pleased with the work that was done. Jim provided lots of explanation on every aspect of the job. He took great care to ensure that the traps were set so as to minimize additional damage to my house.

Their groundhog bait must be heavenly to the critters.  They caught the first groundhog within 24 hours of placing the cage.  Over the next few weeks caught 3 more.  After three weeks of no activity I had them take the cage.  Of course I had to call a week later when I saw another.  We got him, but some jerk released the animal before Jim could pick it up.  We'll keep trying.  This last one is stubborn.
They always take the caged animal away within 24 hours.  The convenience of their setting the traps and disposing of the animals is well worth the money to me.  I've recommended Cages by Jim to numerous friends already.  Couldn't be more pleased.
