Prompt, thorough and professional what more could asked for in a home inspection?

Mr. Jagger did a thorough inspection of the house, providing valuable and detailed explanations of the problems of the house and potential risks. Based on his advice, we purchased the house. Afterwards, he gave me valuable recommendations of contractors fixing the house. We are greatly helped by his knowledge and contacts.

We needed a home inspection for the purpose of buying a new home, and the seller gave us 5 days to have it complete. With short notice, Jim Jagger at Buckeye Home Inspections was not only able to complete the inspection within the deadline, but also set up a radon test in the basement of the home the same night I called to schedule the appointment. One of our biggest concerns when going into the inspection was the home's age of 107 years old. Jim is extremely knowledgeable with older homes: how and why they were built the way they were in regards to the basement, windows, electrical, plumbing, roof, heating, etc.
Jim was very patient and very thorough. In addition, he answered all our questions, and let us know he would be available if we were to have any questions in the future.
The $530 price breaks down as such: Inspection of a 2750 sq. ft. home = $360, and optional radon test = $170. I find this price to be very reasonable for the size of the home. He also records the entire inspection and gives you a copy on a CD.

Jim Jagger came highly recommended by another top-rated Angie's List home inspector and he didn't disappoint. Jim brought tremendous expertise, wisdom and honesty to our home inspection, walking us through every inch of the house and noting the positives and negatives. His encyclopedic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and structural components have helped us become more informed home buyers. On top of that, he is very pleasant and personable, which is nice when you're spending three hours with a stranger! I would not hesitate to recommend Jim to friends and family.

I contacted Jim to do an inspection for us on short notice. They were very pleasant over the phone as were willing to work out a time to come and look at the house. Jim was a friendly guy that had a good sense of humor and was very knowledgable about various aspects of the home. He checked the electrical, foundation, roof, windows, landscaping etc. and found several issues that we were not previously aware of. His price was very reasonable and he gave us a written report and audio recording of the notes he made throughout the inspection. Overall I would recommend Buckeye Home Inspections if you are looking to purchase a home.

The company missed several defections with the home: 1. A huge crack on the interior wall of the foyer (more than 2 feet long). 2. Leaking chimney. At the time of the inspection, he did not look at the chimney at all. Instead, at that time he asked me to hire a professional to swipe the chimney before I use it. Later we found out that there were obvious water marks and deterioration on the interior bricks in the living room caused by the water leaked from the chimney. I called a chimney technician and he said the leaking has been there for years. 3. Malfunctioned/deteriorated electric meter box. Yesterday, there was a small explosion in the meter box and smokes came out from the box. I call the electricity company and it sent an electrician to check the problem. The electrician said that the meter box had malfunctioned for a long time, and the obvious deterioration on the outside of the box, including a disconnected protective pipe, should have been caught by the home inspector. The meter box needs to be replaced. However, Jim from BUCKEYE HOME INSPECTIONS failed to catch any of the problems. We found out the problems after we purchased the house and after we moved in.

We were moving from Dayon, had found a 99 year old home we wanted to buy and needed a home inspection. A friend recommended Jim. He inspected the house in detail and documented everything on an audio cassette, which he then gave us. Jim's knowledge of the style, history and architecture of our home and others on our street truly was amazing. He spent a long time on the inspection and was extremely thorough. He also did a radon inspection. The levels were high and the owners took care of the problem before we closed on the house. I highly recommend Jim Jagger for home inspections. http://www.jamesjagger.com/

Jim Jagger came out to inspect the house we were considering buying on a moments notice. We came from Boston, wanted to put an offer on the house immediately, and needed an inspector. Our realtor recommended Jim. We called him on a Saturday afternoon, and he arrived within one hour. He inspected the house in detail and documented everything on an audio cassette, which he then gave us. Jim's knowledge is mind boggling. He even knew about the intricate Shaker housing laws and pointed out how they would impact us. A month after we bought the house, we had an unfortunate leak in the basement. We called Jim, and he came back and spent an hour with us reviewing what went wrong and how to correct the problem. I highly recommend Jim Jagger for home inspections. http://www.jamesjagger.com/

I AM A REALTOR AND HAVE USED JIM MANY TIMES. THEY ARE EXCELLENT, CHARGE BY THE SIZE OF THE HOUSE, AND ARE BONDED WITH A GUARANTEE. HE ALSO HAS A TAPE SYSTEM WHERE THEY RECORD COMMENTS AS THEY ARE GOING THROUGH THE HOUSE.

JIM JAGGER WAS VERY THOROUGH AND DID AN EXCELLENT INSPECTION. HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND ANSWERED ANY QUESTIONS THAT I HAD. HE GENERATED A WRITTEN REPORT AND A TAPE RECORDED REPORT AS WELL. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM, HE DID EXCELLENT WORK. HE WASN'T THE CHEAPEST AND HE WASN'T THE MOST EXPENSIVE, BUT HE IS WELL WORTH HIS COST.

JIM WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. I CHOSE HIM BECAUSE HE DOES AN AUDIO TAPE OF HIS INSPECTION AND I THOUGHT I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO BE THERE DURING THE INSPECTION (I WAS). HE ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS WITHOUT MAKING ME FEEL LIKE I WAS INTERRUPTING HIS WORK. THE ONLY OTHER THING I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IS A MORE DETAILED WRITE UP OF THE CONDITION/CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HOUSE.

JIM POINTED OUT MANY (BADLY) HIDDEN DEFECTS INCLUDING WATER DAMAGE, DRY ROT AND ASBESTOS! NONE OF THESE PROBLEMS WERE DISCLOSED BY THE SELLER! BASED ON THE DETAILED, FRANK REPORT, WE DECIDED NOT TO BUY THE HOUSE.
