Extremely dissatisfied with services received. we bought our bridesmaids dresses through the bridal shop. The dresses were very pretty but we honestly should have picked up the dresses and taken them somewhere else for alterations because the people there are extremely unhelpful and do not know what they are doing.
first off when i went to get my dress altered, my first fitting lasted a total of five minutes, which they charged me $50 for. I was charged $50 and the seamstress didn't even want to do the alterations i was asking for. i needed it taken in at the bust because i was falling out of the dress and she kept telling me it looked fine. when i went back to try on the dress after the alterations she had taken it in way too much, to the point where i could barely zip it up, and they messed up the ruching on the side of the dress when they took the seems in. it was incredibly ill fitting and looked like a mess. i kept pointing out problems and the fact it was too tight and she kept telling me it looked fine and was and quot;supposed to be that wayand quot;.
after getting nowhere i left with the dress only to come back a couple days later to have a meeting with the manager and a different seamstress. They fixed the ruching that they messed up, and i told them i wanted the waistline moved up about an inch so it hit me in the right spot. I was then told by the manager that they and quot;do not fit the dress to each person, they only make the dress fitand quot;…oh i'm sorry isn't that what alterations are?!? making the garment fit the person? they essentially make the dress fit well enough, but don't alter it so it looks best on your body. She told me i just didn't like the way the dress looked because it wasn't the right silhouette on my body shape and i basically just needed to deal with it because the dress was never going to look good on me.
after arguing with them they said they would make the changes for an extra $85…they said that the alterations fee i already paid doesn't cover anything but hemming (which i didn't have done), and taking in side seams.
i ended up taking the dress to Fast Needle Miltons where they quoted me $65 for the work i wanted done. still considerably cheaper and much more proffessional since i needed it done asap. should've gone there to begin with.

Brides by Demetrios are very competent. When they say things will be in, the wedding dresses and other stuff, they're in. They're very easy to work with. If you need something done right away with the dress, you come in for your second or third fitting, they will get it done that night. They even came to the place where she was getting married and prepped her dress on the spot, because it was so wrinkled. My daughter didn't know to take it out of the bag when they gave it to her and the dress was so wrinkled, it was horrible. And they actually sent someone to iron it for her on her wedding day and they didn't charge anything extra for it.
