"I strongly disagree with the decision to credit the member the $288 charged to him for HVAC service. The member called us September 30, 2010 for certification of two boilers, not a boiler repair. (Please see the attached job card). A certification consists of an evaluation of the operation and safety of the boilers. If the homeowner chooses to make any recommended repairs we offer to credit part of the charge for the certification. If the homeowner chooses not to make the recommend repairs we expect payment in full. Our service technician spent 2 1/2 hours testing and evaluating the boiler system. (Please see the attached time sheet). He did not just "briefly" look at the system. After consultation with our residential service managers, Ken Shvorob and David Masciarelli, the technician and service mangers concluded that the boilers were unsafe to operate and should be replaced. Temporary repairs made to the system will put the homeowner at risk. We told the member we would NOT make temporary patch work repairs. That is still our opinion. Bill Call, controller"
