American Abatement

I talked to Terry on the phone and he scheduled a time to come for an estimate. We had decided on a general time and I appreciated Terry's call to let me know when he was on his way. He looked at the basement ductwork and the exposed asbestos that was in one of the vents upstairs. He discovered that not only was there asbestos connecting the ducts, but it was even lying on top of the ducts for apparently no reason. He clearly explained the procedures that they would use to ensure no asbestos would be left behind when the ducts were wrapped and removed from the house. The estimate was reasonable and since he knew we needed to have it done as soon as possible so we could move forward with the furnace installation before the cold weather he was able to squeeze us in the next week. On the scheduled day, the worker (I think his name was Chuck) showed up on time, was friendly, and got right to work after going over everything with us first. He worked straight through the day and when he finished he left no sign of having been there. Everything was clean and there was no visible trace of asbestos left. What a relief to get that out of our house! Overall, the people at American Abatement were professional and knowledgeable and did the work well and at a reasonable price. I hope we don't have another situation in which we would need this type of work done, but if we do, Terry will be the first person I will call.

I have nothing but the HIGHEST PRAISE for American Abatement. I completed my due dilligence and spoke with several companies who perform this same work, prior to making my decision on who to hire. Not only was their pricing very cost effective, the customer service was OUTSTANDING. I met initially with Terry Donelin, who arrived for our appointment right on time. He was very professional, understanding, and able to describe in detail what needed to be done. The actual work was completed by Chuck.....He was responsive, professional, incredibly hard working, and a pleasure to work with. We are 150% satisfied with the work done by this company and would not hesitate to recommend them to others. Terry spoke with me throughout the week this work was completed, to update me on progress. Excellent, excellent, excellent company.

Terry from American came out to examine the work we needed done in our 90 year old home's basement. Some ductwork had asbestos tape used on it, and there was an asbestos cement board used in some places. Terry was thorough with his inspection and gave a fair estimate for repairing (encapsulating) the existing asbestos as opposed to a full removal (which would be very expensive as any ducts removed would have to be replaced). To boot, he said he could probably have someone in to do the work by the weekend. I called Terry back the next day to hire American to do the work, and Terry confirmed someone would be out at approximately 8:30AM on saturday morning. At 8:10, Chuck was at our door with paperwork in hand, and ready to work. After looking at our situation, he mentioned he may have to do the work over two days, as there were some tighter areas to get into, which was fine with us. While Chuck worked, we looked at the paperwork, and the invoice (exact to estimate), insurance, license, and certification were all included. Very professional! To our surprise, at 2:00PM, ALL of the work was done, and no second trip was needed. Chuck worked quickly, efficiently, accurately, and cleaned up after himself. What more could a homeowner ask for? Well, he was also courteous, professional, personalble, and friendly.
We really can't rave enough about how positive the experience has been with Terry and Chuck from American.

Quick update: There was a VERY small spot missed on the initial visit. Terry and Chuck were very responsive, and were there within a couple days to finish up the small spot. I initially wasn't going to mention the return trip, as it only took Chuck about 15 minutes to make it right, but I wanted to give a thumbs up to Chuck and Terry once again for providing prompt, courteous, and professional service.

They did this job according to state legislation at a very reasonable price. A state inspector came in to make sure all the asbestos was removed. They did an excellent job. I would use them again in the future if necessary and have already recommended them to others.
