Ace Fireplace Services

This company seems like a scam. There is no local address. All calls I got pertaining to the service looked to be coming from New York City (I live in Cleveland Ohio). I requested service, a tech came out that I could not understand due to him not being able to speak English, he looked at my fireplace, spent less than 10 minutes here, did not give his name, had me click a link on my phone to "approve an estimate" which I stupidly did, charged me $100 and left. Our gas fireplace still doesn't work right. I would not trust this company.

Hired for an inspection. Service was prompt and friendly. The inspector advised that the damper was broken and quoted a repair of $1,400. I requested a second quote from another company, and that serviceman said that the damper was simply off track and fixed it in seconds. He stated that he “sees this two or three times a day.” The inspector from Ace was either incompetent or trying to scam us. Either way, BUYER BEWARE!

Called to schedule a cleaning. Adam showed up with minimal equipment, no shop vac or ladder. All he was take off two screws off and showed me a small amount of creosote . After telling me it was not safe to use he sent a drone up to the chimney. Adam then proceeded to tell me there were more issues, quoting me another 500 dollars. By past experience I realized he was not being honest with his statements. He stated that this was just an inspection and the 160 dollars did not include the cleaning. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

NO !!! Someone needs to call me. The problem list is way toooo long. Will never refer this company to anyone & you all need to be aware of the issues with them . Call Kare Barry

The company, Ace Fireplace Services, was one of four matches received from Angi. They initially contacted me by text on 9/21. I called to inquire about the cost and was verbally told that they would first do an inspection, which would cost as I remember approximately $100 and they would then determine what additional work should to be done and the cost. They came to the house on 10/25, performed the inspection and recommended the following repairs: 1. Fixing cracks on top of the chimney 2. Replacing old chimney caps 3. Sealing gaps/openings in the flue from the inside The technician, Manny, presented a bill for $1070.60 which I understood to be the cost of the project. This was considerably more than I was expecting. However, I agreed to pay because it was hard to judge the cost of the third item. At this point the technician left to obtain some chimney caps. After returning, he repaired the cracks and replaced the old chimney caps. At this point he presented me with another bill for $2468.70, bringing the total charges to $3538.30. The third task had not been completed, although he said he would be able to return later in the week with his “gun” to do the third piece of the project. There has since been no follow up. I paid the $2468.70 charge because I felt pressured and felt it might be dangerous to have a verbal confrontation at that time and place. I did not feel that the amount charged was fair for the work that was completed.

Ace Fireplace Services did a fantastic job with my chimney sweep. They paid attention to every detail, ensuring a thorough cleaning. My chimney is cleaner and safer than ever, thanks to their dedication.

Lots of very expensive recommendations. Worker stated chimney very dirty but took very little time cleaning. Stated he took pictures but never I saw them. Sent multiple estimates but no receipt until I contacted the office. Bill was thirty dollars motored than estimate. No break down of expenses on receipt.

Disappointed by difference between estimate and actual cost: "starts at $99 for the clean and goes up from there." It ended up over $600 because it needed a "deep clean," which took about 1/2 hour. I liked the kid though. "Zack" was professional and efficient. Just would have preferred a more accurate estimate.
