Had two chairs repaired. This organization does elite repair and furniture refurbishing and craftmanship from a bygone era as a gem in the present time. Their work is outstanding and reasonably priced.

We met with a few different upholsterers and decided on Alex.
His pricing was comparable but he was very up front about what he thought the furniture needed.  some of the other people we met gave us a price and really did not discuss any details.
Mr. Garber was very easy to work with.  He was very professional.  Our loveseats look incredible.   Even better than we thought they would look.  We had strongly considered buying new furniture but could not find anything we liked better that was new so decided to go forward with reupholstering.  The fabric was a detailed pattern and he matched it perfectly at every seam.  He added padding where needed.  His pricing is fair.  He explained what could be done and he would do what we wanted.  We were very very picky about the particular fabric we wanted and he worked with us on this.
Once he had our furniture he had it ready in a couple of weeks, which was sooner than expected.

Exceptional job!  Alex Garber reupholstered our chairs with extremely great quality workmanship.  We brought our kitchen chiars to him thinking only the fabric would be replaced. Instead the complete chair was reworked and replaced so that the chairs are better than they were when they were brand new.  When we saw what a fantastic job was being done on the chairs we brought him an antique rocker to redo.  The cushions of the old mission oak rocker were redone in leather.  The chair frame was glued and fixed.  It really looks fantastic!  In addition to the upholstery, Alex has a re-finisher he works with who did the wood parts of our kitchen chairs and the rocker frame.  That was also exceptional work.  The overall cost of the work we had done was high but I gave price an "A" rating because you have to expect to pay for work of this quality.  Alex Garber Upholstery provides a quality of workmanship that is rarely seen in this day and age.  In addition to the great work, there is a showroom full of fabrics to choose from that is phenomenal!  Obviously we were very pleased with our experience and we plan on taking another chair and a footstool to be re-done in the near future.

It went very well. Mr. Garber was efficient about discussing my proposed work, examining the chairs, providing an estimate and doing the work. The work was completed on time, and the price ended up being just as he had promised. We are very pleased with the results.

Garber has reupholstered a sofa, love seat, and 6 dining chairs over the past 10 years.  We will go back to him when it's time to do this again.  He listens to our needs, makes excellent suggestions, and is eager for us to be pleased with the finished product.  The quality of workmanship is impeccable.  I continue to be pleased with the finished product and recommend him to one and all who need furniture reupholstered.

Mr. Garber is a true artist. 
He meticulously fashioned a new chair and ottoman from what was an
eyesore.  I chose a large scale pattern,
which Mr. Garber painstakingly applied to optimize the beauty of the design.
Mr. Garber called me into the store prior to constructing
the chair cushion and ottoman padding. 
He was extremely patient as I tried out various cushions, making sure
that my chair would be comfortable for me, as well as beautiful.  And it is just that?beautiful and extremely comfortable.  In addition, due to a back problem, I require
a pillow behind my back.  Mr. Garber
worked with me to find the perfect shape and size pillow.    I was surprised to receive an expertly crafted
matching pillow and arm covers when my chair and ottoman were delivered.
Mr. Garber and his staff are a pleasure to work with.  Marina was very helpful at the store, and
Dmitri did a great job with pick-up and delivery.

Excellent customer service and very helpful in choosing quality upholstery.

I took a chair to Mr. Garber to be completely 'renovated' and reupholstered about a year ago and his people did an excellent job.  I was very pleased with the results.  So I took 2 chair seats to Mr. Garber in January 2013.  Mr. Garber has an extensive selection of fabric samples and it was very hard to make a choice.  Mr. Garber told me it would cost less if I chose one fabric for both chair seats because one yard of fabric would be enough for both seats.  (The fabric is fairly expensive. As I recall, the fabric I chose cost about $95.00/yard, or so.)    So I left the 2 chair seats with Mr. Garber.  He said it would take approximately 1 to 2 weeks to complete the project.  A few days later I received a phone call from Mr. Garber telling me the chair seats were finished.  I went to the store and picked them up.  I was very pleased with the quality of workmanship on the 2 chair seats.  I will definitely take more pieces of furniture to Mr. Garber in the future for reupholstering.  (Note:  Mr. Garber requests approx. 50% down, and does not accept credit cards.)

That was the most recent job they did, and it was just beautiful!  They always do great work and are very fast.  I highly recommend them!

I found A Garber Upholstery on Angie's List.  I went to their business, the staff was very nice.  I found the material I wanted and decided to use them to reupholster 2 living room chairs.  I am very happy with the service and would use them again.

I am so pleased with my experience having a couch, which had a number of complicated decorative details, reupholstered by Mr. Garber. The workmanship and the service were excellent.

It wasn't cheap but they did good work. They had a lot to choose from. I'll be going back there soon.
