The date is approximate because I have gotten rid of the paperwork because it was a constant reminder of how someone tried to rip me off. I could go on for hours about him but I won't. What he did was start charging me by the hour, coming only it seemed when I wasn't home (gave him a key). It was to be by the job, not by the hour. Initially, he started the closet. Basically, he was to put up a door to close off the area and place racks and shelves along 3 walls. First, the saloon-stylr door (not what I asked for) was upside down. He said he told me about that. No, he didn't. Second, I walked in on him one day and he had drilled about 30 holes in one wall looking for the stud and when I asked him why, he said he didn't bring his tool to help find it. But he had his work truck, you know the kind you can walk into and it has shelves and cabinets? Right. In the longrun, I had to take down everything he put up and I re-did it myself. The racks and shelves he put up where so low, I had to bend over to reach them and I'm 5'4". Short. he also left one end unfinished... Just raw cut metal shelving left as completed. There was also 2 shelves where he had cut them too short and rather than get a new piece and cut it to fit (my mom discovered this), when trying to hang clothing (on hangers) on the racks, the rack began to bend. Why??? Because it didn't fit into the connector because it was too short. In the meantime, he started work on my kitchen. Rather than start a task, finish it and go to the next, he had my entire first floor destroyed because he started everything. Nothing was ever finished. Nothing... Flooring, dishwasher hookup, fridge hookup, sink installation, etc... Nothing was finished. Once we caught on to what was going on, my mom told me to ask him what my total was so far. He gave me some random amount @$7,000.00. That's when my mom stepped in and had me call him to the house and we had family members there to support us. Once my grandmother started in on him, he began to studder and started backing towards the door. In the end, we inventoried all usable/returnable products he brought in that he could match to a receipt because he 'couldn't find' many of them. I ended up giving him a total of $900 over the course of the fiasco and was able to return some of the materials and re-coop @ $300.00. I WOULD NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO EVER USE HIM. And to make matters worse, the entire time he was 'working' on my home, he kept trying to get me to go out with him. *This occurred at our other home on Cappel.
