United Structural Systems

His recommendation was very good.  Had the work done by the contractor he referred me to.

I am getting inspections for one rental property and considering another, but both have potential foundation/water issues.  I needed quick estimates since one house was in a short sale (not much time for inspections).  I researched reviews on Angie's list and found a few options.  Although United Structural Systems was about an hour from my location, they do service that distance and the reviews made it worthwhile to check out.
Long story short, Chris did a great job of providing me with expert advice over the phone to save me time and money.  He talked through each with me and gave me ball park estimates to help me proceed as needed.  For one property that has a finished basement, Chris helped me to understand (1) how I might check for signals that foundation damage might exist since I could not tear out drywall yet (prior to close), and (2) what options were available from United Structural Systems to guarantee waterproofing as needed.  He offered to come in person, but I asked for advice over the phone because of my situation to save time.
The other property had an unfinished basement w/ a crack in the foundation larger than 1/4" and one wall that was shifted and pushing slightly into the basement.  I took pictures and Chris gave me rough verbal quotes based on likely scenarios (and would nail that down that rec and cost if I wanted him come in to take a look at it in person).  His advice helped me note a couple other sizable cracks that could be of concern as well.  He was more than accommodating, and even said he could make a trip out on Saturday if needed.
Overall, I really appreciate the expert, friendly help and would definitely consider using this company on these or other foundation or water issues down the road.  Chris was responsive, made a lot of sense (very knowledgeable), and seemed easy to work with.
(note I had to input cost of service for this review -- since I didn't get a firm quote, and he was looking at 2 properties, I put the rough estimate to fix one of the major cracks / reinforce a falling in wall at house #2.  But as described, that house could easily hit $40K if the other 2 cracks were of equal concern (which I think they were).  House #1 can't get a firm quote until drywall is pulled -- could be nothing, a $5K or so fully guaranteed water proofing system w/ sump pump, or more.)

Brian and his team were truly professional from the estimate phase to completion.  They started the job when they said they would and they finished on time.  Once in to the project, there were some unforeseen issues (the inside walls are finished and the outside is of course underground.  Brian worked with me to come to the best solution both in terms of function and economics.  Brian and his team were all very prompt in responding to any questions I had.  I recommend them to anyone with foundation issues.

We are very happy with the work they did for us in the drainage around the house.We did not report our feelings about the job right away because we wanted to find out how everything worked after the winter and  spring rains.We only had one problem,  in which one of the caps came off of one of the drainage clean outs while we were cutting the grass. They answered our call to them soon after we called and came out and fixed the problem and gave us a new cap also.
