I had Durable Slate come for my annual inspection of the roof tiles. They found one issue and would have fixed it for nothing if I had a replacement tile but I did not. They came back as promised and fixed it for a fair price and also left me some extra tiles for next time. Yes, you can find less expensive roofers, but they are dependable, qualified and fair.

Our home is almost 100 years old with mostly ceramic tile roof. Small portions of it is flat with rubber material. It is a very difficult area to access, and there are only a few companies who can work safely around tile/slate roof. The Durable Slate Company was really great to work with - prompt response time to initial contact, quick appointment to inspect and give estimates, knowledgeable staff, professionalism and courtesy of everyone we've had contact with, great workmanship and customer service, and timely work. We've had the company do other work in our home, and each time, we've been extremely happy with the work. They worked late into the evening to ensure that the work is completed on time as promised. After a job is completed, an inspector came out to review the work to ensure that the job was completed well and to customer's satisfaction. 
As we are in the process of selling the home, we've needed to provide some documentation for past repairs done in our home. Everyone at the Durable Slate office (both main Columbus and local Cincinnati) and field have been extremely helpful and stood behind their work.
We cannot say enough about the company and its people. We do not hesitate in recommending this company to anyone, especially those with tile and slate roof, where it is very difficult to find companies who can be trusted.

They did a great job. I noticed the flashing on my roof had come loose and I knew rain was coming the next day and they came the next afternoon. They were on the roof when the weather suddenly turned bad. They got off of the roof, but struggled with the ladder due to the high winds. My patio furniture was blown over and they even helped me put it back. They went back up and finished the job when the storm had passed. The flashing stayed put!

We have used this company for routine maintenance for a slate roof for many years and have always found them to be dependable and professional.

From start to finish, the people at Durable Slate were very responsive and professional.  The estimate was free and very thorough, even providing aerial photos of our building.  They broke the quote into line items that allowed me to address priorities as budget allowed.
Durable Slate was flexible with scheduling, allowing the work to be done when kids were not in school.  They worked with the village inspector to make sure everything was OK.  There was no mess from the job and it was done as quickly as the weather allowed.  The on-site crew was professional and communicated well with me - always keeping notified about issues and scheduling.
I ran into a small issue during our next big rain.  Durable Slate had someone from their QA department come out immediately.  They schedule some techs to come out and do a couple of small repairs - one was from their work and one was from work not in the original scope.  QA kept in contact with me until I was happy with the work.
From start to finish I was very happy with the communication, professionalism and work done by Durable Slate.  I will definitely use them again for future roof repairs.

Apparently a few items were overlooked on the initial repair. But Durable Slate has a quality control inspection by a separate employee days after the repairs are made, which I've never encountered with other service providers. The inspector found some of the work could have been done better and sent another crew to do those repairs. I was so please with this service and it shows how thorough this company is. I would never trust my slate roof to any other roofing company.
I recently had a roof leak (not a slate roof) at a rental property, where the flashing failed during the recent snow & ice weather. I call Durable Slate and they sent an inspector out within a day or so. Although they could have fixed the roof, the inspector told us we would be better off price wise hiring a regular roofing company, as their workers are skilled in slate and the cost would be higher for them to repair the flashing. Again, they proved to me their professionalism.

They are wonderful. They are the best slate company in the world as I understand it from reading a book.  The job was through my insurance company.  Everything was perfect! I have no complaints.  I have recommended them all over the place.  They are the best! 
I was referred to them by a book called "The Slate Roof Bible".  This was a research book based on slate work from all over the world.  They are the best and as professional as they possibly can be.  I have known them to be hired to redo other peoples work.  I have referred them to others.

They really seemed to know what they were doing and I'm impressed with their workmanship. 

Everything went as promised. They did a thoroughly professional job. Also punctual and on schedule - almost unheard of in New Orleans. Even though they did not have the lowest bid, I would not hesitate to use them again.

It went well and it looks good. They supposed to come out and do a final inspection that hasn't happen yet. They're very friendly. I have to follow up with a phone call 'cause they're very busy but it didn't really bother me that much.

We have used Durable Slate before, and they are great.  The estimate was given in a realy timely fashion.  The work was completed two days later, right on time.  I would never use another roofer on my 110 year old slate roof.

Different companies came out and couldn't fix that particular problem, but this company was the only one that was able to take care of the issue. They were cost competitive, friendly and knowledgable.

The roof is an 80 year old slate roof.  Durable Slate Co. is a columbus OH and Cincinnati OH company that does work in the Indpls area. The repair work appeared to go well.  However several months later the leak reappeared during a heavy rain.  Their quality control man came out to inspect the work.  He discovered a cracked slate near the original repair work that was the source of the leak.  He also was not satisfied with the copper chimney flashing (which looked fine to me).  He had both items repaired at no additional cost to me.  Work on slate tiles and copper flashing requires skilled craftsmen, they employ qualified people.  We have used them before.  As they said, if cared for, the slate roof will outlive me.
