I bought the special for 54.00$ and called Tarvin at 8:30. Was told it would be today or tomorrow.They called back at 11:10 and said would be there in 30 min.Ellis arrived and did a very good job. He answered all questions I had about my pressure regulator. Very friendly and very professional. I will use Tarvin again and will ask for Ellis.

Plumber called to say he'd be just a bit late, he listened carefully to what I wanted done and explained the work as he went along. He knew his stuff and worked carefully to complete everything.

They did some miscellaneous fix ups for me. He was very nice. I would definitely recommend him.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was not the way we planned. I kind of assumed that an estimate would have been for free but I guess they figured that they had to have 2 people come out and didn't plan up doing what they planned up doing. We followed them up but they said that coupon represented the cost for the trip for the estimate. They ended up not doing any service. We didn't get the leak fixed either because we were going to wait to decide whether we are going to do the whole job at one time. I believe if we would have gone ahead and had the work done then I think we would have received a credit but we decided that's too much to actually do it. It would have been just an hour's worth of work but then it would turn into them digging up concrete floor, fixing the pipes and wiring and all kinds of stuff. The guy was really helpful and seemed knowledgeable. He wrote up a quote while he was here and left it with us. He had some good ideas. He knew what was going to have to be done. It's an old installation so it's going to be standard. The new commode would not fit with where the down pipe was so they had to reposition the pipe down on the flooring. It's going to be a substantial job. We wanted them to just fix the leak. They've been out but weren't able to do that because that's 70 years and with that kind of piping, you never know what's going to happen. Anyway, we just let it go. It's in a utility bathroom. In fact the leak has let up quite a bit. We'll probably put it down, we don't use it quite often. It's unfortunate that they had 2 people come out because they had to work out of it. Obviously if it had been an estimate, if they had done it for free, they only had one guy so I really can't complain a whole lot. For the pricing, given the circumstances, I'm satisfied. It did not work out the way either one of us wanted to but for their job it's probably a reasonable cost.

I had purchased a half-price certificate from Angie's List for an hour of plumbing from Tarvin Plumbing, which was great. I called to make an appointment. The person answering the phone was very nice and helpful. I was put on the will call list in order to get a house call in that week. Since this was not an emergency, that was fine. To get an official appointment would have had me wait until next week. I was told I would receive a phone call 15-30 minutes before they would show up, they called as planned. Phil showed up, very nice and courteous. I showed him the bathtub and he went to work. He did his job quickly and well, even asked if there was anything else he could do. The job was well done. We will definitely use Tarvin Plumbing again.

Price included parts and labor. I was charged only for the time that was actually spent on the job and not for a whole hour. I am very pleased with the job. Excellent work and reasonable price!

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and we did not get a response from these people and did not get a quote from them. We are still waiting to hear from them. The only thing they did was leave a rather large hole in our dining room to determine where a leak was coming down from the third floor bathroom. They did this to see if a pipe was leaking. From that day on we have not seen or heard from them since. We are not going to hunt them down to try to do business with them. Right now our thoughts are to get somebody else to take care of it. Their price was kind of high, but they were responsive.

I called Tarvin to have them install a new faucet and handles to my daughter's tub because we were going to have it refinished for her while they were on vacation. I had previously purchased the hardware so all they needed to do was remove the old and install the new. When the plumber arrived, he said that the drain pipe also needed to be replaced. Per his suggestion, I agreed to have that done as well. He said he needed to turn the water off at the main valve. He also said that it would be better to leave all the hardware off until the tub refinishing was complete. At that time, he would come back to put the pipe in and install the new faucet & handles. Again, I agreed since he was the professional. He proceeded to remove the drain pipe and old hardware. As he was leaving, he said I just needed to contact the office to set up a return visit to put everything back together. The tub refinisher was scheduled for the next day. So I went over to my daughter's house early that day to wait for him. When I walked into the house, I saw that the ceiling tiles under the bathroom where the tub is had fallen and that there was water everywhere--in the first floor hallway, the living room, kitchen, & basement. I called Tarvin and told them they needed to send someone back out ASAP. About 1 hour later, someone from Tarvin arrived. He assessed the situation and said that the main water valve was old and apparently was not turned off completely. (He could see the dial still running on the water meter). So the water was dripping all night long. He said the plumber should have capped the pipes on the bathtub before he left. He also said that they should have installed the drain pipe and new faucet because the tub refinisher could put covers on the hardware when he was doing the refinishing. It was a huge mess. We had to have a restoration company come to dry out the house and disinfect--~$3500. Then all the ceiling tiles had to be restored and the hallway and floor painted. The insulation in the basement had to be reinstalled because the water had seeped through the first floor into the basement insulation. After the heaters and blowers were removed, Tarvin came back and installed the drain pipe and faucets AND changed me $625 for the work. Tarvin's insurance company paid for the damage--not the $625. My daughter's family had to live with huge heaters and blowers for 10 days in July. Her electric bill was 2.5 times higher than normal. I know Tarvin gets excellent reviews in Angie's List because that is where I found them. I'm sure this was just one of those unfortunate accidents, but I also thought it was important to make others aware of what happened when we used them for our plumbing work.

They came promtly and assessed the problem. The shank of out faucet was too short to reach through our countertop (granite) and sink, so it was barely screwed on. It needed to be replaced by one with a longer shank. We ordered one from his catalog which is similar to ours. He tried to talk us into just getting chrome, but I don't like crome, so we picked out a brushed nickel. It's not the same as the old one, but very nice. When it arrived, they came to install it. The guy who ordered it and installed it didn't explain anything about it, just installed. We were upset that it was different from the old one in that it didn't have a collar at the bottom whic enabled the old faucet to swing. When we tried swinging it, the whole thing swung, which happened to the old one as it came loose, which was worrisome. I called the office to explain that we had specifically asked for one that swung. The person who answered said that it didn't swing and did we actually tell the plumber that that was the type we needed. She said she would call us back. She did call back a while later and said that this one could swing. I was sceptical, so she sent another plumber out the next day. He checked it, and explained that it could swing, and it shouldn't come loose as this is the way it was made. He was very patient explaining everything and he checked it to make sure that it was properly tightened and not leaking, and told us that if we had any problems, to call and they would take care of it. There was no charge for the follow-up visit. The price of the faucet and the installation was more than I expected and seems a bit high-it wasn't clearly explained when we placed the order, but overall, we are happy with the result.

Excellent, responsive, good communicator

I have no problem at all with the service I received - Matt did a great job. My only complaint would be the price. I used a big deal for the first hour but it got expensive after that. Most plumbers I have dealt with in the past charge a higher rate for the first hour and then a lower rate after that. Tarvin charges $108 for every hour and rounds up to the next 1/3 of an hour. Also, they supplied the hose bib and charged me $49 for it - I looked at Home Depot and Lowes afterward and couldn't find one that cost more than $28.

They said the sprayer works intermittently because there's a plastic piece that's cracked inside. They were unable to fix it, but referred me to the manufacturer. They said the water dripping from my goose neck kitchen faucet is normal because of gravity, even though I told them it didn't used to do that. They cleaned out the trap in my bathroom sink and suggested I continue to run water after washing my hands or brushing my teeth. Water pressure outside was fine.

The service was really good and they did a nice job. I know I ordered the deal and I called them up, and I told them I was ready for the service whenever they wanted to do it. He came out probably the next day, they completed the service, gave me a credit for the deal that I had purchased, I paid the balance and everybody was happy. He did a good job, he was quick and we had it done in a short order of time. They came and did the work and then whatever the deal was for, it was like $80 or $40, and so they took the $80 off the bill and then I paid the difference. Whatever it was, I don't remember the exact detail, it was a group-on thing.

serviceman was in and out quickly,fixed the problem to our satisfaction. There coupon came in handy, saved us aleast another $50.00

The job was done in a professional manner

Pricing was completely fair but probably not the lowest. I'll use these guys again because of their punctuality, professionalism, and answering all my random questions on bathroom remodeling.

We had used Tarvin Plumbing in the past and found them friendly, professional, knowledgeable and reasonably priced so we decided to have them come out and fix some random projects around the house. We had moved in a year ago and they came in to help fix a leak from where the moving company had improperly hooked up our washer, which had a slow leak into our basement. They came and fixed the problem and we were pleased. This time we asked them to fix some leaky faucets and toilets that we received when buying our home. A couple of leaky faucets in bathrooms and toilets that didn't have enough water flow to flush properly. For some reason we recieved 2 service men, which meant double the price. The labor was minor yet they managed to seemingly linger longer and racked up a hefty $500 bill. The faucts were fixed well. The toilet couldn't be fixed, just the style of water capacity. The bathroom tub was leaking and in order to fix it the whole unit needed to be replaced. We didn't want chrome fixtures which were already in place, knowing we would update to brushed knickel and thankfully let them know to stop installing it as we will change it when we pick it out since we are having to replace it. They were able to reattach the existing tub fixture albeit with it not refitting well and offered to install a different one of our choice. In all the commotion and miscommunication (partly because there were 2 plumbers instead of 1) we didn't even get to tell them to fix the toilet in that same bathroom. We were left with paying a bill which was outrageously priced! Bottom line: be sure to ask how many technicians they will be sending to your house even if for minor repairs. I would hire them again if I had clarification that only one technician would be doing the work next time so we don't get charged for double labor!

I have used them in the past. They were reasonable. They addressed the issue right away.

The replacement of the exterior faucet fixture went well. They also did a good job identifying leak in the ice maker. The leak under the sink was not fixed the first time and they had to come back out to stop the leak.

He worked the whole hour and got it stabilized and installed the best he could, I was happy with his efficiency.

The appointment was set and confirmed five days in advance to meet at the new home at 8:30 am. When we arrived at the property the plumbers were not there. When we contacted the office we were told that even with a confirmed appointment we had to be reached by phone the day of the appointment. Since the plumber did not reach us they went to another appointment. The appointment was for 8:30 they tried to reach our cell phones starting at 8:00. They did not call our home phone number. Our cell phone beeped at 8:25 when we were on the way to the house. When it was safe to respond the plumber had already gone to another appointment. My husband talked to them at 8:40 and I called at 9:00. I really do not understand why they were so quick to give up on our appointment. We had purchased a one hour service call from Angie's list so even if the plumber had come to our home and we never showed up they were paid in advance for the first hour. We finally agreed that if a plumber became available that they would contact us before noon to let us know that someone would be coming that day. A plumber did become available and arrived at the property in the afternoon. He did not have the water heater or materials to perform that part of the job. He was very polite and did connect the water lines for the washer and setup the laundry sink. However without the water heater we still did not have running water to the house. We asked the plumber to return the next business day to complete the work and were told that we had to call the office to make another appointment. I called the next business day and was given an appointment 7 days later. I asked our realtor for a plumbing reference and she gave us one. I called the other plumber and the owner came out to the property the next day and discussed what needed to be done. He gave us an estimate and a start date for the work. He also promised that they would stay on the job until it was completed. So I called Tarvin and cancelled my appointment. The plumber from Tarvin was very polite, clean, and professional. He did what appears to be excellent work. The problem that we had was getting the plumbers to come out to the property. We closed on the house on the 27th of August and did not have running water until the 17th of September. The delay has caused all work at the property to be delayed and may impact our move in schedule.

We've used Tarvin multiple times, and have always been happy. They arrive on time, work quickly, and do excellent work. Highly recommended!

They were fine. They were very nice, agreeable and got the job done.

The Tarvin plumber was very professional and took the time to show me how to change the filters. Unlike other companies Tarvin did not give me a phone bid. They came for a service call (for which there is a discount coupon on Angie's). It was up to me to accept or decline the bid. This ended up being higher than the phone bid even with the coupon. However the other Plumber's representative was not very helpful and admitted to having never installed a Pelican.
