Tarvin Plumbing

So in conclusion I would not fault Tarvin Plumbing, but do wonder if someone more experienced would have known how to handle the situation before the new pump was installed. I believe the charges are in keeping with some other plumbing companies which is $30.00 for every 15 minutes - $120/HR. Depending on what needs to be done I would use this company again. I did get the feeling that I was NOT being ripped off like I have in the past with other plumbing companies, and the technician was very courteous.

I contacted their office late yesterday afternoon and told them my major concern was a nonfunctioning water heater. While there were going to be here I wanted to have my kitchen faucet checked because of low water flow and a whole house filter, which I already had, installed. I was told they would have a technician out today and would call before they arrived. I received a call about 10:30 to see if I still wanted them and they arrived 30 minutes later. I started with having them check the water heater and Jim first thought the issue was a defective thermal coupler but once he got the pilot lit and it started heating he determined the heater was leaking and showed me the rust and where the water was dripping on the TC thus causing it to shut off. I told him to replace the heater and while waiting for another tech, Dave, to bring out the new water heater Jim started on the other projects. Jim determined the problem with the kitchen faucet was a clogged shutoff valve which he replaced and also removed the faucet flow restrictors. The faucet is working much better. He installed the filter and explained the use. We also decided to have them disconnect an old "hot plate" that was used to heat pots of water in the basement. He and Dave capped the gas line and removed all the piping feeding the hot plate. They did a great job! They installed the new water heater and completed all the other tasks in about 3 hours and at a cost that was only about $150 more than a previous estimate to just replace the water heater. I certainly will call them the next time I need a plumber!

I made an initial contact through Angie's list on Sunday night and they responded promptly to put us on their schedule on Monday morning. They had availability early on Monday and we had someone out by mid-morning. We believed it may just be the wax seal, and they were able to confirm that. The toilet is on a marble riser as the bathroom has hardwood floors. They advised that the toilet was never properly sealed with the riser, and changed out the seal to one that would work better. I felt they were very honest with their work and only did what was necessary. We also were able to use a coupon printed here on Angie's List. We would be happy to use them again.

Very well! They were very efficient and very timely and very fair enough in their prices.

I was really satisfied. They did well. They were on top of their game. They know what they were doing. They got it done in a reasonable amount of time. They were able to quote other work but at least they gave a decent quote on it and offered me an option. Once they came they got the job done, they couldn't schedule it right away but they it in a reasonable amount of time.

They were very professional, quick and gave honest advice on an option which made me realize they aren't just trying to get my money and trap me into something that would require yearly purchase

They did a very good job. I had him replace a few things under the sink, and everything has held up fine since they did the work.

There was no delay with scheduling and were able to come out in about a day after calling them. Two men came out to complete the work. They completed the work in about two hours, cleaned up well, and did a great job. It went very well.

I had left an Angie's List message for Tarvin early morning 3/5/2014. I received a call from a young lady about 8:00a who said she was Veronica and would get a plumber to my home as soon as one became available. I had taken my mother to a doctor appointment and Veronica was very kind to work with me. We called each other back and forth for an hour or so until I was headed home. When I called her back she had a plumber available and he would meet me at my home. Obviously, we had started out on the right footing and I was already very satisfied with the respect and kindness I was receiving. The plumber, Ellis, arrived about 11:30 and we went over all of my plumbing issues, large and small. He first tackled the water heater problem that so far is resolved without actually having to replace the water heater but rather some components. Ellis then spent the rest of the day replacing faucets and flappers, generally stopping all of our small leaks and there were several. He worked in the basement on the water heater and in all 3 bathrooms. He will get me more info on water filter/softener and sump pump w/backup. I hope to have him back in a week or so to install the filter/softner, one more faucet, and any other leaks we didn't address today. Replacing the working sump pump with one that has a back-up may have to wait a few months, depending on the pricing. Ellis used shoe covers whenever he was in our carpeted areas, which to me shows respect for our home. He also checked in with me several times through the course of the day to make a decision or explain the cose of an item. I simply went looking for a plumber who would make repairs and replace as needed, at a reasonable price and with respect for me and my home as the customer. I have struggled to get that workmanship and respect from some of our project companies this past year, as we have been updating our home of 16 years, but I found it in Tarvin. I WAS COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH MY NEW PLUMBER TODAY and LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT IMPROVEMENT! (but hope for NO more leaks to get repaired)

great. I had everything ready, area exposed, water removed. They didn't even enter the craw space. I was surprised that two men came, A plumber and his helper. Both very polite, efficient, and they cleaned up afterwards( old pvc piece, valve) Bill seemed a little high for the amount of time, but plumber explaned his hourly rate and the helpers hourly rate. OK I' still use them but ask for one not two men

We chose them because of the reviews and they could come out to the house later that day. I have to say i was disappointed and will not use them again. He arrived on time the same day and announced "the sinks would cost $120-$150 each". He spent 30 minutes unclogging one sink and then announced he needed to dismantle the entire pedestal portion of the sink to tighten the fittings around the trap because he couldn't tighten them. This made no sense as the pedestal is cemented to the tile floor and no other plumber has ever, EVER had to do this. This didn't feel right and I felt he was trying to inflate the bill with unnecessary work. I can't imagine what kind of costs we'd have encountered had he been permitted to proceed. I told him I wasn't comfortable with him dismantling a 100 year old sink cemented to 100 year old tile and wished to pay him for his work and have him leave without even getting to the second sink. He charged me the full $150 (huge surprise that it was the very top end of his range once he learned I had a coupon). The amazing thing is he knew this was an Angie's List referral. I'm going to wait two more days for the plumber who knows what he is doing. Better to wait than have a destroyed sink and floor. Very disappointing.

The Tarvin representative came out to the house and immediately saw the issue. Basically the installation of the sink had been done by the homeowner and was completely wrong. By just looking at the pipes he pinpointed issues that we hadn't told him about that had annoyed us since we moved in. He had all the parts we needed and fixed everything in about an hour. Very professional and very friendly service. This is the second time they have come out and have been ecstatic with their work. Also, I called on Sunday night and they had someone out the next day at around 3 pm. Love Tarvin Plumbing.

He arrived here in less then an hour of my call. Was very professional and explained everything to me.

I called them and they came out the very same day even though we said it was not an emergency. We had used them in the past to install a different toilet. We have been satisfied with their work. I plan to get an estimate from them for countertops and cabinets.

.The plumber capped-off the broken pipe and I paid him $390. Since it was a weekend he recommended that the work to restore the bathroom be done during the week, and that I should call to haveTarvin give me an estimate of the cost. I paid Tarvin $90 for the estimate but what I received was an informal quote ranging from $1300 to $1500 and lacking specifics. Since the quote was significantly higher than my insurance company's estimate they requested an itemized estimate. Tarvin refused stating that they do not work for or with insurance companies...but kept my $90. Not what I expected from an A-rated company on Angie's list.

Everything turned out terrific They were prompt and professional. They were able to come out within 24 hours of me calling and I bought the deal while they were at my house. One technician was here doing the work and he was here for about hour and half to complete the job.

it went well. It was on a Friday around Christmas time and they were the ONLY company that could do it THAT day. Since Tarvin Plumbing were on your list we went with them. They were on time, cleaned up, and took the old Hot water heater away. The only complaint is their price. We paid $1,599 with 25.00 coupon. I asked how much the hot water heater cost by itself. no answer. I again asked for a breakdown of the hwh & labor but all we got was a receipt with all the hardware that was used~~~again NO cost of the heater & labor.

Went pretty smoothly. Identified an issue I was not aware of that increased cost.

Despite being booked up they still were able to call me back later and fit me in for a pressing issue. Water was pooling up against our foundation after the big thaw and the sump pump wasn't able to rid it. Ellis swung by and spent a good 3+ hours making sure the issue was covered and that we would have some solution before the big rain the next day. He was extremely professional and could tell he took pride in his work and seemed happy to explain everything going on. The ultimate solution to the issue is going to be tricky going forward, but he made sure that we were set up with a good temporary solution. Tarvin is always the first I call and the first I recommend when needing a plumber. They've done a number of jobs for us and it is always the same: Professional, courteous, and fair.

The gentleman from Tarvin arrived on time. After a while troubleshooting the water fixtures on the bathroom on top o f the stain and having not found an evident leak, proceeded with my approval to open a hole on the ceiling. He could not find a let from there either so he concluded it must have been water spilled from the tub by my children. He advised to re-caulk to prevent this in ther future., I did and have not had issues since.
