I wasn't super thrilled with the method they do their appointments/service calls. When I called to schedule I could book an appointment time, which is only the first appointment every day and they had no availability for 5 days or I could be added to the service list and they would call me today or tomorrow when my name was next. That's fine, but they literally give you 15 minutes notice and I work 25 minutes from my home. They do not charge a service fee, but charge $120 per hour for their service. My clog did turn out to be more complicated than thought, but I felt like the service guy was rushed and wanted to get home. He arrived around 3:30 and by 5:30 he was wrapping up the kitchen sink and wasn't even willing to look at the basement sink. He clearly had the attitude he was done for the day. This is simply unacceptable since I had to leave work to meet him. If I have to schedule another service call, it will require more missed time from work. It definitely ended up way more expensive than I thought, but it's understandable since the clog was more complicated. However, I was not happy that as he was leaving he said "hope that gets you by for awhile." As a customer, I never want to feel like I'm paying for a patch job. I want to make sure the problem is taken care and will not return for the forseeable future.

A new tenant was moving into our rental property, and when the utility company came to turn on the utilities they found a leak. Called Tarvin and explained the urgent need to get the gas leak repaired immediately so as not to impact new tenants moving in. They were very professional and came the next day. They gave the tenant 30 minutes advance notice and showed up as scheduled. They successfully made the repair and the tenant reported the service man was very professional and courteous. Would definitely use again and would recommend them.

Great experience with this company. On time, professional. The final price was lower than the estimate. I will definitely use them again.

Service was great but the charge was more. For 15 mins more the plumber charged me for another hour.

The same day gas leak was found a Tarvin plumber was able to come that afternoon. It went well. He had to construct piping from the top of the hot water heater to the bottom. He replaced the leaking gas valve and knew how to turn the gas back on to test all the piping to be sure nothing was leaking. He said it would cost between $300 and $400. With $25 off from the Angie's List coupon, it did. Because he knew how to turn the gas back on, I did not have to wait for Duke to do it. He knew what to do and he did a good job.

Great experience. Matt was extremely knowledgeable and had many years of experience. We used the time together to overview much of the house's plumbing and identify areas for long term inspection and maintenance. He answered all of my questions to great detail and got my shower running really great for the first time! Thank you!

They diagnosed the problem quickly. One of the heating elements went bad and they replaced it the same day. Would use them again.

I never used them for the work needed, Roto rooter did the work for less

I called to get an estimate on replacing a bathroom floor and was told there was a charge of $90 to do the estimate. If we went with Tarvin then the $90 would be credited. If we didn't go with them, I would be out $90.

Plummer was on time. He was very knowledgeable and provided some recommendations to me. Great person and good conversation. Original request completed and the additional request. I recommend the provider and would use again

Tarvin had done a major remodeling and updating of our 2nd-floor bathroom in 2008, and we were so pleased with that job that we've called on Tarvin for other plumbing issues since then. Their most recent job started with our desire to get our leaking kitchen-sink faucet unit replaced, but we decided to get other needed work done at the same time. The vessel for our 2nd-floor-bathroom sink, which we had selected and bought, and had Tarvin install during the 2008 job, turned out not to work so well, as it was too tall, leading to lots of spilled water on the counter, and it also suffered deterioration of its drain gasket, so we wanted to replace that vessel with a more functional model. The biggest segment of the recent job was our need for renovations to our 1st-floor bathroom, to update it and to correct problems left over from a 1990's remodeling by another contractor. The existing toilet had leaked around its base for some time, leading to deterioration of the floor underneath, so we wanted that damage repaired and ceramic tile installed in place of the old vinyl tiles. We also wanted a new, higher-profile toilet, a new sink/vanity combination, and we requested both a new spray hose and an exhaust fan to be installed in the existing shower (the previous contractor had failed to install a vent, leading to humidity problems that made the ceiling's paint peel when we used the shower.) We discussed all our needs and ideas with Tarvin's estimator, and approved the proposal then provided by the company. After we obtained some of the components we selected on our own, Tarvin began the job and worked through it very efficiently. The plumbing and carpentry was done by the same individual, with the tile and electrical work subcontracted. Everybody involved in the job was good at making and keeping appointments, and working very diligently while they were here, so that the work was finished in good time. Everything done by Tarvin this time looks good and works well -- we're very satisfied with the job.

The technician came on time and I was able to get someone to stop by on the day I called. I used a coupon and they charged me $20 for the handle. I'm not really a fan of the new handle, but it works.

I purchased the big deal for plumbing, it was $60. I never heard from the company until I checked my Angie List messages, Tarvin did not reach out to me. Most importantly, after I disassembled the majority of the faucet I was missing one tool so I arranged for Tarvin to come and install the faucet. Once the plumber arrived he looked at it, without even looking underneath the sink and said it would take two to three hours, so that translates into approx $400.000 to unscrew three bolts, and place the new fixtures in. I had read this in another review of Tarvin that this was a practice, but did not expect it to happen to me. I am sure they are capable plumbers if you get the right one, we were unlucky in this case however.

Overall a very good experience. The service person was very knowledgeable and professional. Would use again

We bought a "deal" from Angie's list which should have covered a faucet replacement and another small job (according to the info I got when I called the company before our appointment) but the plumber who came claimed it was beyond the "deal" amounted and tried to charge us another $50. And the faucet was installed poorly, it turns on it's base. Would never use them again.

The office called about fifteen minutes before arrival which was planned. The rep was right there and rang the bell with a very freindly smile and greeting. He surveyed the list and the various locations and went to work right away. He was a clean cut gentleman and accomplished all tasks in a reasonable time frame. He used good judgement to replace what needed to be replaced and repaired what he could. Thank you Tarvin Plumbing Company. I have referred them to my new neighbor across the street.

I am doing a kitchen remodel and needed to update the plumbing for the icemaker on the fridge, which was working perfectly. After the update was done, no more ice. When I called for them to come back out, I was not told that there would be a charge if their work was done correctly nor was I told to check to see if water was getting to the ice maker. After a 3-minute check, the plumber verified that water was getting to the ice maker and gave me a bill for $90. I will not work with them again.

They were really, really good. Nobody else could have figured it out. I've had three other people looked at it. He did a marvelous job. Everything was really perfect and I'm going to have him come back for some other major things. His responsiveness was immediate. It was an emergency, because I had people visiting and he was able to be here within two days. He is the first one I've ever graded a 100% for his service.

Arrived on time and everything was done perfectly. It looks really good and the disposal is great.

Did fine job but charged me to rent the snake and over charged for his time. Charged me for the time he sat in the truck writing out the bill. Overall not a good experience.

Tarvin's serviceman arrived on time. He brought the proper equipment with him to get the job done. He went right to work. Explained everything as he was doing the work. He was in and out within an hour. He was very professional.

They were really very prompt, there when they said they'd be there, which was very important to my tenants. They did great work, and did it right the first time. They had a deal available on Angie's List that I didn't even know about, he told me about it and gave me the discount.
