Went very smoothly. Granite was selected from a large offsite granite warehouse (the granite provider) so there is a great selection with clear pricing options. They were very professional and the counter tops turned out great!
Description of Work: Installed Granite counter tops and sink in kitchen.

s an engineer I gave them the finished dimensions and even watched them write it on their order. (22" deep w/ back splash included) My installer buddy contractor had also concurred that 22" (was the goal). (His work was fine installing for me .) It was not even the difference of the backsplash thickness, so still not sure where the heck they came up with the finished shop dimension they made it too at shop. ...So that wasn't a source of confusion. Good demo of the surplus pieces and amiable people there. It was decent price compared to one shop (near Field Ertel area that was ridicululously high for a remnant.) Turnaround time was decent and acceptable. The 2 Sides were machined to thickness, (made thinner) to max. counter space White Sink chalked in place there for transport. I went to pick up the pieces and looked at them and they casually seemed ok at that point in time.. I GOT IT HOME AND TOOK IT UP STAIRS AND THE DIMENSION THEY CUT WAS NOT 22", but rather larger than that. That increased the front overhang from our design. OUT OF SHEER LUCK THE DOOR FRAME ADJACENT WAS ABLE TO HANDLE THE EXTRA length via its clearance. Lessons learned: For big jobs especially use an "all in one" outfit like EBN Florence, Ky. it appears._ The sink supplied is junk I feel, ; the overflow has a plastic grommet and that lost the paint finish almost immediately even w/o cleaners being used. _ I had to solvent clean and repaint it myself with a quality paint._ Buy a better brand sink; it is not a Kohler and SHOWS DIRT AND THE PAINT WAS LOUSY ON THE OVERFLOW. The finish looks more pitted than I had expected._ Others say samples kept outside can get weather damage. It also will have to be treated much more than I had expected. _ A quality control back check would have caught the size being wrong, so as an American Society for Quality volunteer I am dismayed that occurred due to the shop lack of procedures, etc.._ They had good Florida tile samples there, so that was nice, but dusty all over the place._ I don't think they give a cash discount either is my recollection._ I would not use them again for those many documented objective reasons.
Description of Work: Showed and Sold us a piece of remnant granite for a bathroom vanity that we liked that stone. Cut to size. (it was 22" spec. for surface depth and I saw them Installed a sink on the bottom (Like Kohler 2210 BUT not) Beveled edges Cut pieces for back splash and machined the thickness of the sides Loaded it in my pickup truck after about 2 weeks per agreement.

Response from TAKE IT FOR GRANITE LLC
Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction and to provide the highest quality workmanship to all our customers. The customer that wrote this review picked up this countertop around the end of june and was happy and we never heard another thing from him after he picked up his top until receiving this review. When a pick up order is placed the customer gives us their particular dimensions and then is asked to sign off on all the specifics including dimensions as part of our process. When we at TIFG perform the measurements we take 100% responsibility in the fitting of the piece(s). In this case the customer performed his own measurements and verbally gave them to us and signed off on the said measurements, which I am looking at as I write this. The measurements were also on this customers estimate and invoice. So it seems our quality control was spot on, giving the customer exactly what we agreed upon and he signed off on. We offer options to all our sinks, and this particular customer opted for the cheaper knock off of the kohler 2210. Yes the kohler product is very nice, and we provide a lot of both of these sinks to many happy customers. Granite by nature can be slightly pitted, and there is no process that can change this. It is a natural product. Pitting is very common but does in no way compromise the quality of the finished product. This customer hand selected this particular one delicatus white granite, he got to see it and touch it and take a sample home with him. We store every single piece of granite inside our 20,000 sf facility, we have never stored ANY granite or natural stone outside as many other fabricators do. I bring this up because this customer says storing it outside was the cause of damage (pitting). Our suppliers also use indoor storage. This particular customer promised us a good angies list review if we discounted the agreed upon price. This was confirmed by my partner, and 2 other office employees and as well as my shop foreman. To give a bad review due to us not discounting the agreed upon price is really sad and unfortunate for business owners that actually take pride in what they do. And on a last note we are a full service granite, quartz, marble fabricator and installer. We have done well over 10,000 projects in the last 15 years of business. We have done some of the areas biggest projects, and we remain as one of the top choices if your looking for quality that last, and the reason Im in and out of the office much is because I perform every single template and measure that we also perform the install, sometimes as many as 5-6 a day, which keeps me very busy. I love what I do and am looking forward to many years of quality work. Dustin

They were great. The communication from their office staff is excellent; you know where you stand from the day you place your order until after the job is complete. My job was a big one with some complications (e.g., an oddly-configured bar and an oversized cooktop that gave the owner, Dustin, a challenge as to how he was going to cut the granite around these.) He took a long time getting the measurements right and explaining to me how it was going to look when they were finished. The installation crew stayed until 7:30 at night getting the job finished right. One might think that at that later hour they would rush to finish up but these guys took their time to finish it up properly. I am completely satisfied and will call them when I'm ready to do my bathroom counters. I've already recommended them to others.

WE WEREN'T HOME DURING THE INSTALLATION AND THE CREW LEFT (1) WOODEN SHIMS UNDER THE COUNTER TOPS, (2)THE SEAMS UNFINISHED, (3)KNOCKED A CABINET OFF ITS BASE, (4) LEFT SAWDUST OVER OUR NEWLY REFINISHED HARDWOOD FLOORS, AND WORST OF ALL (5) BROKE A CHIP IN OUR NEW COUNTERTOP. THERE WAS NO NOTE EXPLAINING AND NO PHONE CALL. WE CALLED THE OWNER WHO CLAIMED TO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ANY OF THIS. HE CAME THE NEXT DAY AND WAS EXTREMELY RUDE, ALTHOUGH I DON'T KNOW HOW WE, THE CUSTOMERS, DID ANYTHING WRONG. WE DID RECEIVE A GENEROUS CREDIT, BUT NEVER AN APOLOGY.
