Swings N Things

First off... 1. Got a quote for a swing set using last years supplies for about 4600. I went to buy this swing set 2 weeks later and they said the old wood was gone and the new price was 6400. 2. We then negiotated to get our swing set for around 5800, with free set up and 2 accessories equaling $90. They said that the set would be put up first or second week of May. 3. May comes and no phone call. So I called and they said it hasn't shipped yet. Got the run around several times and then on May 13 they came up and put up half of the swing set. 4. The set they put up was using the old wood they said they no longer had. I was told my installer that the wood was refurbished wood. Not happy as I paid for this years wood. They also put up a replacement slide, until mine would come in, and then tried several times to pressure me to buy it. 5. When the rest of the swing set came I was told they were going to take down the 2 old uprights and install the new uprights as I had asked them to do. I was out of town when this occurred so I was not surprised when I returned home to find that they had not taken down the refurbished part and only replaced the picnic table and two large beams that had holes in them. They also neglected to finish enclosing the roof and installing the rock wall. 5. Still waiting for confirmation on both of these things. In the end I, who never files complaints, am filing a complaint with the company Backyard Adventures who he works for and also contemplating filing a complaint with the BBB. 6. This man never calls you back, does not communicate with you and does not follow through on his word. The swing set itself is awesome! But I would never buy from David Powell @ Swings N Things again.

We wanted to get a large swing set that my two boys could play on for many years to come. We wanted a high quality set that would last and look good for many years in our backyard. We looked at Recreation outlet's Rainbow Systems and Swing N Things Backyard Adventure's systems. In the end we chose to go with Swings N things because we prefered th look of the Backyard Adventure systems. We called and told them that we were looking for a floor model or a referbished system to save money. They said they had nothing that would fit our needs. We designed a system with there staff and placed the order. We were told it would be 6 weeks until delivery. We also were required to pay by check instead of a credit card, I assume so they wouldn't need to pay the credit card fees. 6 weeks came and went with no swing set. They said they were backed up from the rain. The also contract only 1 installer to do all their jobs. We stopped by the show room to find out the satus of the swing set in person and found a floor model for sale very similiar to what we ordered for half the price, even though they said they had nothing 6 weeks earlier. When asked about it the said they had a buyer and it fell through. Eventually, 7-8 weeks after the order, the swing set came. What was suppose to take 1 day to install took 3. Parts were missing or came incorrect from the warehouse. The installer spent time repairing incorrect parts. The swing set went up. Some of the wood look to be spray painted brown instead of stained. Much of the swing set has splinters on it. Some of the accessories were hung to high for my kids to use. They made no apology for the delay in setting up the set, and when I called multiple times about missing pieces or incorrect height and splinters I got no assurance of it being fixed. About 3 weeks after they set up the swing, they fixed the missing parts and height of the accessories by bringing out extentions. In all we were very disappointed with this experience, especially the lack of professionalism and customer care. They acted as though they were doing me a favor by installing a $10,000 swing set. If I had it to do over I would go to Rainbow Systems.

When swings in things first came out they did an okay job but then they were supposed to come put up a swing set, and I never received it. So I went straight to the company that was supposed to be sending it the swings to get the product. I would tell everyone to stay away from them.

Perfectly. Upon my initial visit to Swings N Things, they were very friendly and answered all of my questions. I was considering other brands of basketball goals not carried by Swings N Things and their ability to represent their product fairly with important details drove my decision. They arrived on the day/time promised, installed the equipment per the work order and removed all materials from my yard before departing. Everything went great!
