"December 13, 2018 On April 13, 2018 we performed a termite treatment to Mrs. [Member Name Removed]'s home. Unfortunately we drilled four holes into a porch slab close to the front door. The porch slab is built with some unusual construction. The slab is cantilevered over the foundation wall and extends into the basement. Therefore there is no off set of the foundation in the basement. The ceiling is enclosed and visually you can't tell the slab extends into the basement. When the treatment was finished the holes on the porch where filled with concrete. We were notified about the holes in the basement ceiling and the manager went to investigate. On April 21 we patched the four holes in the ceiling. Sometime after the repairs we received a call there was water leaking into the basement around the patched holes in the ceiling. We had had some heavy rains. We responded and thought it might be possible the patched holes in the slab could be leaking. We reopen the holes and used hydraulic cement [hydraulic cement is used to stop water and leaks in concrete]. Several weeks passed and we received a call after another heavy rain that the porch is leaking into the basement. We returned, made an inspection of the holes we patched. The holes were perfectly patched with no cracks or signs of leakage around them. We did not believe the amount of water Mrs. [Member Name Removed] was describing to be coming from the sealed holes. We did however reopen and seal a couple of holes some distance from the others in the general area of the porch slab. We have never believed that our holes were leaking especially after using the hydraulic cement. I never contacted a concrete company to do a proper repair because it was repaired properly. I was trying to get an engineering firm or independent inspector to come out and review the situation. I could not get someone to come out after contacting three different firms. I then turned the claim over to our insurance company. They had an independent adjuster come out. During his inspection other factors were discovered that could be contributing to the water damage. They have made a settlement offer based on damages observed and evaluated by the inspector. At this point it is up to Mrs. [Member Name Removed] to accept their offer or decline it. Mrs. [Member Name Removed] has some construction issues with her porch. You can see where cracks around the edges of the porch slab have been caulked and sealed in the past. She also has a step slab pulling away and being undermined from the main porch slab. We have always believed that these issues are causing her water issues. That is why we have tried and have had an independent inspector look at the issue. If you have any additional questions concerning this issue please direct them to my attention. "Sorry for the misunderstanding. What you had was a hornet nest and we do charge to come back and remove them. If it had been wasp we could have treated the nest and removed it at the time of treatment. Thanks, for your business, Glenn!"
"First of all, We at Sure Thing take our technicians driving habits very seriously. We have spoken with our driver. He had no intentions of passing the bus, saw the yellow flashing lights as he approached the bus, but did not realized they had changed to red. I called the school transportation dept and spoke with the driver of the bus, he confirmed our driver passed the bus but appeared to have not realized the bus had stopped. A review of our tracking system show our driver had slowed down as he approached the bus. When I spoke with our driver he expressed shock and surprise at what had happen. He felt relieved no one was hurt, and expressed Ms. [Member Name Removed]concerns. He has kids that ride the buses also, and they need to cross the street to get on the bus. We will continue to address driver training in our service meetings. Again in this weeks meeting remind everyone about watching school zones and being aware of school buses. Glenn!"
