STEVE TONNE THE PAINTER

Fantastic job! Timely, high quality, communicative, and beautiful finish of our bedroom, hallways, bathroom and entryway.

Guys are very nice but simply to not have the skill set to paint. No attention to detail, lots of excuses. Steve sold us on his 30 years of experience but he doesn't paint or even manage anymore so it's irrelevant. We spent over $11,000 and we have hired another painter to come in behind them paint is thin in some places and just missing in others. Their "process" is chaotic so guys couldn't keep track of where they had prepped(which they don't really do) and where they hadn't. They were using window glaze to fill the few nail holes they did actually fill in my new trim (should be wood filler). We feel taken advantage of by this company, they are not who they claim to be.

The job went very smoothly.  Due to delays in getting our roof replaced in the summer of 2014, we could not get on Mr. Tonne's schedule for exterior jobs that year and had to wait until the 2015 exterior painting season.  They started work in September.  The crew pressure-washed the surfaces, scraped loose paint, primed and painted pretty much all of the exposed painted, stained, or polyurethaned surfaces on the house.  Some of the finishes had deteriorated over the years and needed new approaches.  The last time the house was painted was 15 years ago and the foundation had probably never been worked on since the house was built in 1954.  Mr. Tonne evaluated the conditions and proposed prep and coating solutions to address those problems.  For example, the wood on our overhang had been clear coated over the years, but the wood had become mottled with light and dark patches, so Mr. Tonne applied a semitransparent stain/sealer to even out the color and protect the wood.  He kept us informed of the status of the project and was responsive when we had questions or requests.  All in all, very nice work.  Our last experience with painting the exterior of our house did not go well, so it was a pleasure to have good experience this time.

Very well. They showed up on time, kept everything clean and tidy, worked fast and were very professional. Steve advised against the color I had chosen and he was right, I insisted upon it and have regretted it ever since. We have used their services since then and continue to be impressed with the company. The plaster walls going to the third floor were bowed and cracked to the point I thought we would need to rip them out and put up drywall. Laura gave us a very reasonable estimate to repair and paint. She was in and out for about a week and there is no evidence that the walls were ever damaged. When we remodeled our kitchen , they were the only company I would consider for painting. I let Steve choose the color that time. I have had so many compliments on the color of our walls that I can not even count them. They are the best!

Steve Tonne did a great job.  He is a very trusted person in our neighborhood.  We will definitely call him again when we have more work.

Very well.The crew took 3.5 days to complete the job excluding the power washing. The crew, usually three arrived on time and worked until 5:00 p.m. each day--there was v. little down time. When I made a few suggestions or suggestions the crew was responsive and accommodated me. Each day the crew cleaned up any mess and at the finish made sure all obvious  debris was removed.

I am a VERY picky person with services done on my house, ESPECIALLY painting. Steve Tonne's team of painters exceeded all of my expectations ... by a LOT. They were true experts in their craft. They paid incredible attention to detail to get every little thing absolutely right. They were punctual and very friendly. The quality of their work was superb ... not a single flaw anywhere. We left lots of personal valuables out while they were painting .... even when we were away from the house. They are completely trustworthy. They were very helpful and patient in helping us choose the right colors for each room. If you contract them, be sure to ask for John for your trim work. He is loyal with an incredible work ethic. He was always the first to arrive and the last to leave our house. They are going to get a lot of new business in our family throughout Cincinnati based on the great work they did for us.

Steve, his son and his wife are perfectionists.  We wanted excellent quality and were willing to pay for that.  I would highly recommend doing work with him.  He is a small company, so understandably you may have to wait to get on his schedule.  But, we appreciated the level of detail he put into our project.

This was the second time I hired Steve and his team, and I will absolutely hire again.  Steve is very responsive, quickly provided a reasonable estimate and worked on the timing I was hoping for.  Steve's team painted our master bedroom while we were away on vacation - I trusted the team completely with our house key. We came home to a gorgeous new room and are very happy with the experience.

My house was overdue for repainting.  I contacted Steve, among others, for an estimate the previous year and determined that he was well priced, but the price way more than I had budgeted that year so I put the project off.  When I contacted him this spring he stuck to the same estimate and started the work pretty quickly.
His team was thorough and courteous throughout the project.  It turned out that the old paint was in worse shape than either of us had realized and required a lot more scraping and prepping than anticipated.  In the end the project was 48 hours over his initial estimate but he stuck to the agreed upon price without a grumble.
The house now looks great and we were very satisfied with our experience from start to finish.
