(34 x 70, 24" depth) was commercial -- even though the manual clearly identifies it as a "home appliance". My husband and 22 year old son were here to help the crew of 3 if needed.
Delivery crew said sales should have specified it was a Kitchen Aid and scheduled a 4-man crew (which we clearly identified and asked the salesman Jason Raines at Eastgate about).
Delivery says they cannot reschedule for another 6 days before they can deliver. 9 days without a refrigerator -- and took the entire day off of work to take the delivery.
should have stuck to Home Depot, where I bought my new dishwasher and front-loader w/d.
Count me unimpressed.
Had to argue with sears warranty service to cover labor on repair. Labor was covered in owners manual. They finally agreed to cover labor. Service reps are rude and unprofessional!. Set appointment for repair. Parts (Large) were shipped to my front door. Required me carrying them into the house (they were heavy) and storing until service arrived. Set appointment for a Monday between 1-5.
Waited and no one showed. Called sears and they said we did not notify them parts had arrived and therefore they did not send anyone out. This is bs since we called twice on Monday to assure someone was coming out. They said we would have to be rescheduled for Friday (We would go to the back of the line). They would not budge on this and could have cared less about missing appointment. I'll write another review if they don't show Friday.
I would never buy another sears product of any kind in my lifetime. This company is falling apart at the seams. The customer service is absolutely horrible and they don't care about customers. Buying the frig was also a bad experience. The frig we selected was going on sale the next day and they would not give us that price the night before. Had to come back the next day to purchase at sale price!
Buyer beware of this company.
When preparing Easter Brunch, we noticed that the burners on our KitchenAid electric stove/range/oven would suddenly stop working and thus we could not cook our brunch. So a few business days later we called First American to put in a claim to get the electric stove/range/oven repaired.
First American first sent out BA Appliance Repair to fix it. They said the controls needed to be replaced and that they would order the parts. A few days later the parts showed up at the house and BA Appliance Repair called to verify and schedule someone to come out and do the repair.
When BA Appliance showed up, they had two people because they said this was going to be a big job. Apparently along with the controls, the wiring harness had to be replaced since the controls had different connections. So when they opened the parts box and took a look, the two guys had a conversation and said they could not do the work. They said they were going to call First American and tell them they needed to send out another company.
A few days later, First American called Sears (the company that arrived was not Sears, but A&E Factory Service which is the subcontractor Sears uses) to come out and take a look. They said the control board needed to be replaced. They ordered the part, came out replaced it, and it really did not work even worse than before. They then ordered another control board. The board worked the next time, but the stove still have the problem with the controls going out and the burners stopped working again while you would try to cook. So now Sears/A&E Factory Service agreed with BA that the controls needed to be replaced. When the control parts arrived, the Sears/A&E Factory Service guy looked at the box of parts (same parts that BA Appliance ordered) and said that the stove was beyond repair. They said First American was going to replace it now.
Then I followed up with First American who verified the stove was going to be replaced. BUT....a few days later when they found out this unit originally a high-end stove worth around $2,500 they decided not to replace it and called a third appliance repair company - Day's Appliance Repair.
Day's sent out one of their technicians who said he could fix it. He agreed the controls were bad. I filled him in on the entire ordeal (two months had passed by this time). Day?s said that the repair was very time consuming and difficult and that's why in his opinion the other two appliance repair companies (BA Appliance Repair and Sears/A&E Factory Service) backed out and said they could not to it. I also did not mention earlier that the Sears/A&E Factory Service people dented the stove control panel while trying to put the stove back together. They admitted they did it and said they would replace it. Sears/A&E Factory Service never did, so I did tell Day?s I wanted that replaced when he came back to do the repair.
Day?s submitted their estimate to First American - I am just guessing the repair was north of $500 - and First American gave them the OK to repair it. Day?s ordered the parts and when they came in, Day's called and scheduled the repair.
It was a big job to rewire it and Day?s was here for a few hours. But when it is all said and done, as Day?s promised, they said they could fix it and they did. Days?s people were real professionals and knew exactly what they were doing.
I was very disappointed that First American called BA Appliance Repair and then Sears/A&E Factory Service in the first place. BA Appliance Repair and Sears/A&E Factory Service should have been able to fix this. I watched the guy from Day?s and it was not so much a difficult job as a time consuming job.
The only thing I can think of is that when BA Appliance Repair and Sears/A&E Factory Service sent their estimates to First American they were too low and so they were going to lose money. Instead of losing money, they just decided to bag it and let some other company deal with the problem.
So if you are in Cincinnati I might suggest you call Day?s first before calling someone like BA or Sears/A&E Factory Service. Oh, and the $60.00 was the deductible I paid. If you have a home warranty, tell them not to use Sears/A&E Factory Service.
