Schneller Knochelmann Plumbing Heating Air

We had no heat. Joe Mc Cleese came out on a Sunday and immediately discovered that the off/on switch for the furnace was in the off position. Apparently it was "bumped" or something when the washer and dryer were moved in the previous service call for the blocked drain in our laundry room. Joe called the office and explained the situation. He then told us there would be no charge for the service call. This was incredibly kind and we are grateful for his actions and efforts to give us the best customer service possible.

I called on a Friday night, he came over on Saturday. He suspected an issue with a valve and possibly something else. He was going to replace the valve. I was unhappy with that since this was the 3rd call on the new air conditioner (first a noise issue, then work on a defective valve). I was unwilling to take a chance on needing repeated calls throughout the life of the unit. Apparently he was unable to reach the manufacturer (Trane) regarding a replacement air conditioner. He told me that he would call me Monday. At that point I said that I wanted a new unit. He called on June 7 to say they would replace the air conditioner. I will submit a review for the crew that came out on June 9.

They contacted the city for the required markings and obtained all the necessary permits. They dug up the front yard from near the front of the house to the street and removed the old sewer material. They installed a new PVC pipeline and connected it where necessary. They mounded the dirt. in the front yard and explained that the dirt would take quite a while to settle and when it did to call and they would cut the pipe down to be flush with the rest of the front yard. It was necessary to be on my neighbor's property while they excavated; they put down grass seed and straw on his property where needed. They explained everything that they needed to do and why. These guys (Scott Butler was our contact person) were friendly and totally professional. They left us very satisfied.

The plumber was very courteous, however, I was not pleased with the work. We expected ALL parts of the fittings to be replaced. The adapter fitting that attaches the downspout and the 1 1/2 inch pvc pipe to the wye did not get replaced. It is 22 years old. It is a deep yellow in color, and brittle. Needs replaced not only for breakage at any given time, as all the other outside fittings did, but it is also not very asthetic to the eye. He stated "their" supply house does not carry that fitting. He stated that part was not "included" in the price. When I asked what would he have done had it been "broken" he stated he would have thrown that in without extra charge. So which is it ?? I also have a new crack leading from my Dish cable in my vinyl siding which is a couple of inches away from the exit pipe he replaced which was not there before. I had just inspected it prior to him installing the exit pipe. He put white caulking around the exit pipe and also on a couple cut lines on my siding which was extremely overkill and messy. I asked him if we could clean that up before it completely dried, he stated he could do that and not to worry as it dries clear. My husband now has to replace the fitting himself. He has a broken wrist and that was the reasoning behind us calling a plumber for what is considered a simple plumbing job but it didn't turn out so simple and nice at all for the price they charge. He decided to appease us by deducting $40.00 off of the bill. We signed the invoice and called it a day. I suggest Schneller to provide their employees with all parts needed to complete a job whether it be from "their" supply house or Lowe's or wherever that part needs to come from !

It was ok. I feel like they tried to use it as an opportunity to sell me more services.

Very well, they were helpful explaining the work that needed to be and offering several possible solutions for varying range of costs. We actually ended up needing additional work on a different project within a week and they came back out and fixed that issue also.

Schneller responded to the call and arrived very quickly. I had already narrowed down the issue to a capacitor or motor in the outside AC unit. The service guy was very professional and polite, however my issue came after reviewing the bill. They charged me $240.00 for a dual run capacitor bringing the total to $369. The retail price for the OEM capacitor is $35. That's a very dishonest and deceptive business practice. I understand you need to maintain a decent product margin to justify carrying parts around on your truck but marking a part up 700% over retail is far beyond reasonable. I'm more than willing to pay a premium price for premium service but in return I expect the company to be fair and honest.

Our service technician was very courteous and prompt. He repaired the hot and cold faucets in the laundry room. We were having a leakage issue with the faucets in our bathroom (which were only 'fixed' by another plumber two years ago). After removing the on/off knobs, the technician discovered that the hardware was essentially jammed into the fixture with the wrong size part (installed a year ago by another plumber).The faucet on the sister sink was starting to be a problem so he looked at that as well. Same issue: bad repair be a previous plumber. The technician could have purchased on our behalf and installed new faucets in both sinks, but my husband decided to install them himself (way cheaper).

They did a great job, were thorough, and kept me in the loop.

The service was very prompt and detailed. After checking the refrigerant levels noticed that I was about a pound short. Because it was a cold day they offered to come back a warmer day to re-check before filling it up.

They rebuilt the water inlet valves in two toilets. They both ran intermittently, but of course while he was here the toilets refused to do so. He was about to leave as he didn't want to fix something not broken. We gave it one last look and the one toilet had run, letting the red dyed water into the bowl. I told him as I know the second toilet also runs, I asked him to repair it too. He also sold me a checkup contract for my hvac.

They came here about two or three weeks ago. I have a service contract with them to just come and check your things once a year. Their price is reasonable.

In July 2013, we needed to replace our 20 year old HVAV system and contacted a number of major players for an estimate. Pete Knochelmann came out and measured our house and did the sizing the proper way. Two of the other companies just wanted to use what we had before and/or use the measurements from the other bidders. Pete didn't sell me on anything rather he was actually quite upfront on what would/would not be right for our house. The price was fair and I never felt I was being overcharged. The install of the system went great - very well done and the team explained the whole process. We've been very happy with our Trane system and especially the variable speed blower fan. It's made a huge difference in comfort and energy usage. Since the install Schneller has come back several times for our summer/winter checkups and we've been really happy. Each time they are prompt, professional, and do a quality job. We highly recommend Schneller.

In summary, Service man arrived on time and answered all my questions. I was on a tight timeline and was going to have the work done regardless so we talked about what I needed and when it could be installed (immediately) but did not discuss price. I was shocked at the price of $1700 for work taking about one hour (he did have to go pick up the equipment which took about an hour) and materials which I could have purchased on the net for $350 plus the battery which couldn't have cost me more than $300 at most. I paid without protest as we did not discuss price before the work. The price may have been justifiable but it seemed exorbitant to me and I decided to take my heating and a/c business elsewhere. In summary, prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, but questionably overpriced and I probably won't use them again.

Went well - they replaced filters I provided them. Professional, good explanation of work done.

Very expensive for the work done. He tried to charge me twice when I had bought the offer from Angie's list for $59. He tried to charge me again till I refused and he called his office to ask. I expected to be charged $100 to $150 but it was twice as much. I asked about shut off valves under the sink since I do not have any and he said that would be almost $400 to install. Too much money. If my old faucet had not been leaking so much, I would have shopped around a lot more.

Replaced shut off valves with crappy new valves. Lied about the types that are available and gave us the cheapest kind. Upsold us on new faucet to fit new crappy valves, but couldn't install that because they were unable to remove drain from old sink. (Did I mention that they broke the drain pipe? How convenient that they also sell sinks!!!) Charged around $367 for new crappy faucet that sells at Lowe's for $65. Now I have to buy a new sink to fit the new crappy faucet and cheap-o valves they put in. And oh yes! the new crappy faucet isn't even installed but currently laying in a heap next to overturned sink. Don't call these people. They're scam artists!

It went fine but I had to contact them to confirm the install date.

The tech arrived at 7pm for the 2-4pm appointment window we were given the day before. I was basically told by a manager that because it was a hot day, A/C units were failing and they service their contracted customers before someone like myself who just called in and scheduled an appointment. I felt the communication from their dispatcher about the schedule of the tech and the response from management to be qutie poor. The tech did show up and filled it with freeon and left. After contacting other Heating A/C companies, more should have been done for the $300 call. Just disappointed with the communication and quality of work I received for what I paid.

Great he replaced the mad pipes and cleaned some other pipes

Schneller replaced our furnace and air conditioner. Their prices were slightly higher than other companies we got estimates from but we chose them because of their reputation and professionalism. The furnace and air conditioner were installed in Dec 2014 and went flawlessly. In April, we turned on the new air conditioner and it was making a loud buzzing sound. Schneller came out to check the problem and ended up replacing the air conditioner completely because they couldn't figure out what was causing the loud buzzing sound. We were very impressed that they stood behind their product and work and replaced the air conditioner at no cost to us. In addition, we have a 10 year parts and labor warranty on both the furnace and air conditioner. They always wear shoe covers inside of your house and most of the workers are part of the same family. We would definitely use schneller again!

The service was fantastic. On top of the tune-up, I was told I have a broken expansion tank - which seemed out of scope for the tune-up. Very happy with my choice to go with Schneller.

Very professional from start to finish. No problems scheduling a convienent time and they showed up on time and did a great job. Would have them out again.

Very professional and responsive. Pete came out and gave us estimates on three different options with complete explanations for each. After we selected what we wanted, Mark and his associate spent a full day installing the new system - having to work around some space limitations. They did a wonderful job and really made improvements from the original installation (done by someone else). They were quiet and very courteous, cleaning up everything as they went. We would definitely use Schneller again.
