Schneller Knochelmann Plumbing Heating Air

Nick actually arrived a little before our scheduled time; he did call and let me know about 15 minutes before he arrived. He was professional and friendly and I felt my house was in good hands.

Woke to no hot water. The tank had been leaking. Called Schneller. They came the same day. Determined that the tank jut needed to be reset, but did some additional checking to see what may have caused the leak and or, the tank to turn itself off. Found that the house had been built with a faulty plastic pipe from the street to the house--Blue Max--and that there was no pressure regulator on the system. He gave me an estimate to fix the hot water tank, but also highly recommended that I have the water line replaced before it failed and flooded my finished basement. (Apparently, there was a class action suit against the maker of this type of pipe back in 2009 and they are now out of business.) Had them do the work. They showed up promptly. Wore covers on their shoes when they entered the house. Removed and replaced everything in the storage area where the pipe entered the house. Also did a good job of leveling the dirt where they had dug up my front yard (didn't leave a big mound). In the process of digging under the sidewalk, a couple of the slabs cracked and three slabs are now very un-level. They called me out to show me what happened and said they would be back to replace the cracked slabs and re-level the sidewalk. It turned out to be a good thing I had the work done when I did--the line was already leaking where it connected to the main water pipe (and I was paying for water that was just soaking into the ground.)

Technician was appropriately professional. We have a nanny during the day and she felt very comfortable with Mr. Eric in the home. He arrived on time and completed work in the time allotted. However, found the Schneller scheduling and booking process pretty painful. Would advise others to schedule via Schneller's clunking but ultimately effective online scheduling app. Have to say, never found it so hard to schedule a job (and we've wrestled with paying these guys on previous work also!) More details on our experience are below. ========= We purchased two Angie's offers in March. These came with committment that the provider would schedule service within a few days. After about a week called Schneller and booked ourselves. Technician came performed service as agreed, but used home rather than mobile phone to detail needed repairs. Consequently, he did not complete them during the service. Called technician and left vmail that night, never heard back. About 10 days later called Schneller to schedule job and they would not schedule -- asked that I contact technician. Called and left vmail again, later that day technician called. However, he could not schedule job and directed me to the office. Called office twice leaving voicemails but no call back. Called office again over weekend and dispatcher said weekday team would return call on Monday. At that point decided better to order via online and eat the $99 fee (which they had the good sense not to apply).

Eric was on time and friendly. He explained what he was going to do and what he found. Eric discussed with me the pressure and high carbon monoxide reading. He adjusted the pressure which lowered the carbon monoxide rating. He also suggested that I hire someone to have the chimney cleaned as well.

was as advertised. Just an inspection/tune up so not much to critique.

They came in gave me an estimate on repairing shower assembly. They told me I needed to buy the whole shower/tub hardware. To repair the shower they would need to cut an access panel in the room opposite of the tub. I would be without water for a day. If I bought their service agreement along with the cost of the job the total was somewhere near $1200. I called another plumber. They fixed it with a longer screw. They were here less than an hour.

The service man showed up on time and did the work expected. He tried to sell me on replacing the heat exchanger which I didn't do since I was selling the house. I don't know if he was telling the truth or not to be honest. I have not heard from the buyer so I assume all is well.

Everyone at this company has been so nice starting with the phone receptionist. We were given a very timely appointment for a 2nd opinion because our Furnace was not acting right. The Schneller technician who came was very thorough and came up with the same diagnosis as the first company did. Then a salesman from Schneller came and explained all our options. Pete was very helpful and explained everything in a way that I could understand. We agreed to get a new furnace from Schneller and they came in one week to put it in. The technicians were Jesse, Jim & Carl. They took care to cover their feet and they covered the carpet to protect it when they exchanged furnaces. The technicians were very nice. Jesse took extra time & patience explaining the new thermostat. We love the new furnace. It is so quiet & so much warmer than our old furnace. We knew we needed a new furnace but the reason we choose Schneller over the company who first diagnosed the old furnace was the PEOPLE at Schneller. We never felt pressured or spoken down to but everything was explained to our satisfaction. And they left the place cleaner than they found it.

Friendly interactions, kept me updated on progress and pointed out issues and questions. Made suggestions to repair or future replacement needs. Offered many different up-selling options.

Because of the great experience I had with this company servicing my furnace, I decided to use their plumbing service as well. I had a leak, they were there the next day, on time. The plumber didn't mind navigating my crawlspace, fixed something that was botched by a previous plumber, from another company.. and was very customer service oriented. I also purchased the maintenance package which gave me a substantial discount on my services. Once again, Schneller has earned all A's and I will use them again.

The young man they sent was extremely customer service oriented. I felt he was very honest and did not try to sell me things I did not need. I would definitely use them again.

Rick was through not only in his inspection but also in his explanation. His recommendations were conservative and informative. I bought the inspection package to include another furnace inspection next year and air conditioner, this summer.

I would like to report a robbery!!! Schneller Plumbing wants me to believe it should cost me $514 to spend 45 minutes replacing a $90 garbage disposal. Schneller Plumbing called me within 24 hours of me requesting service. They, then, called me one business day prior to arrival giving me a 2-hour window. The technician arrived within the 2-hour window and went right to work. He had the disposal replaced in about 45 minutes. After he was finished he showed me his work and gave me some pointers for usage and maintenance. Up to this point, I was very impressed. Then there was the invoice? He charged me $425 for the service (about $100 higher than competitors), then subtracted $200 for the Angie?s List Big Deal Coupon, THEN ADDED ANOTHER $89 ?for the service call??just for good measure?as if the $425 didn?t cover his service call. I questioned his pricing two separate times, I was in such disbelief. They got their Angie?s List Big Deal Coupon money and then overcharged the customer. That is how they run their business. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Just great! Rick, the service man was good and represented his company well. I like a company that sends out experienced workers who enjoy WORKING and doing a job with care. I pay attention to service workers that come to my home and he was NEVER slacking or cutting corners just to get done and move on. Thanks to Schneller for hiring good workers.

Rick was professional and answered all our questions in a friendly manner. Was happy with the service and got the PMA (Performance Maintenance Agreement) which was offered as a discount for $144.

We never felt pressured into buying more than we needed and everyone at Schneller has been great to work with. They even offered to provide some space heaters to keep us warm until they could complete the installation on Monday - January 4th. Remember, this was all happening on New Year's Day! Jesse and the install crew were fantastic. They were considerate, helpful and left our house with no sign that anyone had even been there to replace the furnace and AC. Jesse even took the time to be certain I was comfortable with how both units worked and how to operate the wi-fi thermostat. As the crew was leaving, one of the guys even took a broom out to sweep up a little dirt left in the driveway from their service van. Now, we are looking to have Schneller replace our old, inefficient hot water heater and Scott was out to walk through the options. Again, no sales pitch and very knowledgeable. They live up to their promise to ' treat you like family'.

It was not good at all. I wasn't there when the guy came out. My mum gave me the paper and he left an extra $900 to fix a faucet leak on the outside faucet. So I tried to get a hold of them to get them come back out with somebody else to explain why that ridiculous bill and I was having trouble getting them to get back with me and then just kind of other things took over and I haven't got back with them. So my money is still tied up and we haven't had a thing done to her faucet. The guy came out and gave a ridiculous estimate and I could not get a hold of that guy again and they were supposed to send somebody else back and I never heard from them again.

I would be careful using this company since they told a bold faced lie to me about getting work done with them. Unprofessional and have a pretty bad system to handle calls it sounds like.

They were very prompted and professional. He tuned up the furnace and is working very well after words.

WHAT A DISGRACE OF A BUSINESS. We used Schneller based on the great Angie's list reviews to completely replace the HVAC in the home we bought 2 years ago. Spent approx. 7k. Did not pass inspection due to pipe placement by technician. We fixed it ourselves. years later October the furnace would not turn on. We called Schneller to come out and look at it. Ended up charging us over 200 dollars. To clean the filter. It was during this time we noticed they did plumbing. Technician offered us a deal to pay only $40.00 to have a plumber come out to our house to do a diagnostic for why our drains keep clogging in basement. A week later the plumber came out in the morning. I let him in and went up to 2nd floor to sleep ( I work 3rd shift). My husband was at work. About 2 hours later the plumbers came around from the basement and knocked on front door and said they were finished. I asked what was wrong with drains, what did they find? The plumber said they were all clogged with tree roots and he used a machine to clear out the roots. I asked what that cost and he said around 390 or some odd dollars. I asked if my husband paid it. He said no. So I called my husband and he my husband said he never spoke to plumbers. I know I didn't so I asked plumber to leave his information with me. We conferenced the plumbing manager that day to ask why the plumber would work on our home without our permission or acceptance of fee. Schneller offers a flat fee for their service, they do not work on an hourly fee. So they knew what it would cost us but never asked us. We only paid for diagnostic not procedure. The plumber manager apologized and said he spoke with the plumber and checked over our paperwork and we were correct there was no signature obtained and no authorization. Instead of making it right the manager said he would lower the fee to $99 as they currently have a special going on right now. I laughed and said we were not obligated to pay anything, to which the manager agreed. But being the ppl we are we would pay. Advised to have them send an invoice. Nothing. And I wasn't calling to follow up on their residual negligence. So then I get a call and on voicemail it's their secretary telling us we had a past due bill. HA! And then later that week we get an "over do bill." Get it together. I finally was done. I called and asked to speak to the owner Kris. They took my info and still no response. They are not getting my business ever again. Too bad their service staff can not be as professional as their sales staff.

Everything went as expected, and based on a few experiences with Schneller, I would recommend this company.

Technician arrived on time. Main office called ahead to let me know that the Tech would be here soon. Tyler was very professional. He explained what he was going to do. He put on the booties over his shoes. He then went about cleaning and inspecting the furnace. He then explained what he did and answered all of my questions. I was very pleased with the service and signed up for the annual maintenance plan.

It went well. Their technician was very professional. I have an older boiler system. So, it's very finicky. The technician didn't really know. I had to sort of show him that the motor is inside. Once I showed him, he knew. He wasn't comfortable with aerating my radiators. So, I called Schneller and they're going to send someone tomorrow to aerate my radiator. So, in general, I'm satisfied with their service. I didn't pay anything extra. I would use them again. If their technicians were a little bit more familiar with older systems that would be great because in Cincinnati, in the Clifton area, a lot of the houses are old, and a lot of the houses have older radiators or older systems. So, it would just be better if they were more familiar. This technician that came out didn't know where the screw was for the radiator. I had to show it to him. He was very nice. It's just that he didn't know.

It went good. Two guys came. They even called me back on a follow-up. It was okay. I would not say that it was excellent because I had to point a couple of things to them, which, they probably should have noticed on their own. All in all, everything turned out to be good. They fixed what they could. It was included in the price they advertised. They came, did the job and they left.
