Schindler were very responsive to our requests, and communicated very well. They met their projected timeline perfectly, and our new floors look great. Bid was very similar to several others that we obtained, but we choose them due to the details of their proposal and their explanations.

The crew was efficient, they explained every step of the process along the way, and were respectful of our home. I would recommend Schindler Hardwood to anyone that has a hardwood refinish project.

We were extremely pleased with our experience dealing with Schindler Hardwood starting with our initial contact with Kevin Castle who was thorough in his assessment of our floors. Our work crew of Chris and Mitchel were great to deal with. They were on time every day and worked hard to complete the job in the quoted time. The stain used was a perfect match to adjacent flooring. The end result was beautiful. I would use Schindler again in a heart beat and have no issue recommending them to anyone.

I am very satisfied with the job that took four days to complete. The techs spent many hours repairing floor defects that I had lived with for years. Then applied two coats of natural polyurethane. Ed and his team did a very professional job, and even when there were some mishaps, Ed was excellent at rectifying the mishaps. Ed has high integrity and ethics and I would use him again. In fact, we had our dishwasher leak and we thought ruin our floors about 18 months after Ed's team refinished the floors. We asked Ed to come give us a quote on the repair to fix the floor. He came out and looked at the floor and told us to give the floor another month or two to dry out and we probably won't need to repair the floor. We sincerely appreciate his honesty in telling us to wait. Again, I would use Ed and his team to redo our floors in the future.

I contacted Schindler Hardwood to get an estimate on refinishing my hardwood floors. I immediately received an appointment based on both of our availability. The appointment was made for 2 days later and Mr. Schindler himself came to evaluate what I wanted done. Mr. Schindler was timely and professional. He listened to what I wanted done, measured my rooms and evaluated for noticeable issues…with the understanding there could be surprises once the carpet was taken up throughout the house. The plan was to take up the carpet in all 3 bedrooms, the hallway, the living room and dining room…rebuild the step leading into my family room and complete the stairs leading to the bedrooms and the stairs leading to the basement. He provided me a written estimate the next day along with the amount needed for a downpayment to start the job. My initial intention was to have the work done in March or April 2018 due to having to secure movers and storage for the furniture and to provide time to remove everything from closets and all the rooms. A few days later, Mr. Schindler called to ask if I there was anyway I could arrange movers and complete the clearing of the house so his crew could start the following week. Although this was short notice, I was able to accommodate the time change, get the movers and clear the rooms. It was a difficult task, but in hindsight it made me focus and get the job done. The crew started the next week. There was slight delay in the crew coming to my house the day they were supposed to start due to trying to complete the previous job, but Mr. Schindler kept me abreast of the delay in arrival time. The crew was professional and personable. We derived a plan to for them to enter the house as I would not be taking off from work the entire time they were working on the floors. The plan was executed to perfection and the crew was great at contacting me with the plan for the next day. The carpet was pulled up the first day to identify what we were working with. With removal of the carpet it was identified that when the addition of my house was done and the kitchen was moved to another location, the former owners decided to carpet over the existing tile. This meant the the crew would need to tear out the tile to the subfloor and lay new wood in that area. There was also a step leading into the family room the crew needed to remove brick from, rebuild the step and re-secure my existing vent system. The crew also needed to fix and secure the stairs leading to my basement. The foreman on the job contacted Mr. Schindler, they spoke via video conferencing and Mr. Schindler came the next day to evaluated in person what need to be done. He contacted and provided me a verbal estimate followed by with a written estimate a day or two later with the same information. The crew completed the work on my floors within about a week and half. The result were BEAUTIFUL!!! The workmanship and attention to detail were incredible. They were careful to incorporate the new wood into the old wood to make the new floors look as if they were there all along. The crew had one day to come back and complete the final touches on the job. There was one spot…that had been pointed out to me, that I chose to not replace the wood because I was hopeful staining would help it and I could live with it. Due to the wonderful work on the rest of the floors, that spot became an eye sore. Reluctantly, I contacted Mr. Schindler and informed him that the beauty of the rest of the floors made that spot more pronounced and asked what it would take to correct it. I made it clear there was absolutely nothing the crew had done wrong and that that mistake was solely mine. It was because of the impeccable workmanship that made that one spot more prevalent. Mr. Schindler was kind and understanding of the situation and informed me he would come and take a look at the spot in question. The finishing touches were stopped and Mr. Schindler came to my house two days later to evaluate the area for himself and provide me an estimate for fixing it. The crew came back the following Monday and fixed the spot in one day… laid new floor, re-sanded and refinished that area. Once redone it was as though that spot was never there. They were able to re-sand and re-stain it to look as if it had been originally done with the rest of the floor. They came back the next day to reapply the trim and add the finishing touches that were previously stopped. The end result is I am ecstatic about my floors and the way they look. I would recommend this company to anyone wanting to get their hardwood floors refinished or have hardwood floors installed. This company’s craftsmanship and workmanship are second to none. I would rehire them in a heartbeat and recommend them to any of my family and friends without reservation. I would explicitly trust Schindler hardwood for all my hardwood flooring needs…from replacement, to repairing, to refinishing…they have truly perfected their craft!
