horrific, chavis kerby aka sam the concrete man did not perform the details of the contract and did not finish project , poured 300 ft x 10.5 ft x 5” thick with rebar UNDER the slab , and not in a 4 x 4 grid ,did not install all piers to hold slab on very steep grade, and some were filled in ,the contract agreement of 5000 psi was changed to 4000 psi , we had to hire a concrete engineer with a gpr camera to confirm this nightmare,” alt witzig engineering’” a highly respected company supplied detailed report showing this is “THROUGH OUT “ the pour mr kerby thinks its just “several areas “which he cannot locate, and wants to attempt repair , you cant repair rebar that is on the ground “through out“ chavis . he had no problem taking our money , but will not live up to the CONTRACT he made me sign .....

Terrible. I hired Sam the Concrete Man to replace my driveway and porch & steps last August 2018. There were imperfections in the driveway (it’s a 4-car driveway and it dips to the center, not level), however it looks OK. The porch & steps were terrible. The porch sides were not straight, the front edge of the porch bowed (placed a flat board across the front edge and when it touched in the middle it did not touch on either side, left or right). The steps were even worse; they were not level, they dipped in the middle. When I called them to come look at the work, at first I was told “it looks like the steps got away from them”. The sealer was so thick, the porch & steps ALWAYS looked like it just rained (wet). Sam's originally said that we would let the sealer cure and if I still was not happy, they would tear them out and replace. Well, I wasn't happy and they did not stand up to their word. My yard was tore up by equipment, 2/3 in the front. I was told that my yard was very healthy and it will grow back, they also said they would bring topsoil for the damage and I never saw any dirt. At corporate, at I think he was corporate, it was suggested that I get a railing to help hide the way they looked. I asked two of the higher ups if they would put the porch & steps at their and neither one answered. I strongly recommend that you get another contractor. I did and I have a beautiful porch & steps.

The house we bought recently needed concrete work. The front porch was falling apart, and the rear walkway was uneven due to the ground freezing in the winter. I called several companies, many of which I located from our local home and garden show. No one would call me back even to acknowledge they were too busy to take on my job at that time. I did contact one place who came out and get us an estimate, but we felt it was too high. I contacted Sam the Concrete Man. I had also seen his booth at the home and garden show. Chavis Kerby came out at the appointed time, and gave me a very good price. The work was started when he said it would be, and completed on time. The workmen were courteous and careful around the plants and landscaping we just had installed. The finished walkways and porch look great, and I have neighbors coming to see the finished work to see if they want to also use this company.

Met Chavis at recent Home & Garden Show; provided me with details of work expected and estimate of cost and start/completion dates; work is actually contracted out to another company; work was completed, professional workers, looks fantastic; even re-graded lawn and seeded after concrete work was completely. Only drawback was workers showed up on day 2 at 5pm worked til 10pm - i'm sure my neighbors weren't happy with this noise at that hour as well as myself since I get up at 5am to head to work. Workside - would contract them again!!!
