Sunroom or Patio Enclosure Building Service
We hired Stephen Smith in June of 2019 to remove an old sunroom and rebuild a new better one. He impressed us with his knowledge and confidence and promise to build a great one within 6 wks at the most. He wanted half up front to get the materials, file and start his workers. Flags came up and we balked, but finally gave in. Getting him to start, continue working and finally finish was the biggest chore we have ever done. We had to finally threaten him with contacting BBB, the Attorney General Ohio, Consumeraffairs.com, Consumer Advocate, John Matarese (Chanel 9), Smallbusinessdb and a lawyer. He still continued to put us off by doing something small, then disappearing for weeks, This continued the whole rest of the year until he finally, with the threats listed above, started to work on our project. We still had to continue to push and push until he finished. We could have sued him to get money back, but he had none and was being sued by others . DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!!

Bathroom - Remodel
We hired smith for remodeling of kitchen and bathrooms and other touches. He had no clue what he was doing so we had to fire him. He is manipulative, got huge sums of payment and he will not refund the money. He is not responding to our calls and emails. Smith is scammer & looter . He needs to be in jail so he stops scamming others!!!

Please don't do business with this guy and lose your money. I have a personnel experience with him. We have the agreement with Smith. Once we paid the first payment Smith Ran away, called many times and send email there is no response from him. Keep awayy with this guy.

Please stay awayyyyyyyyyyyy from this contractor. Steven smith got huge payment from me for room addition project but he didn't do any work and ran away with my money. We tried to contact via email or mobile but no response. This is not fake review at all. We had this bad experience with Smith just a month ago and writing this review so no one will impact like me. Please get in touch with me @ 302-244-1828 before you decide to do project with this guy. He gave business card with wrong address. Smith always blame others and don't do any work. I lost huge money and writing this review to save others. Please don't do business with this guy and loose your money.

they where great to have around besides building a great addition they help with other problems around are house and will be hiring them again in near future. the project took a little longer due to weather wish we had sunny days all the time but project went smoothly.

Addition to Existing Structure Building Service
Stephen was hired a year ago for remodeling and an addition. The inside remodeling was somewhat complete- we gave him second payment for addition and he never returned- he lied for months stating that it was a permit issue- and a permit was never filed. Stephen will not return phone calls. We will be suing Stephen if second payment for addition is not returned by the end of November 2023. If you are looking for an honest contractor, I would not recommend this company.

We had a screened-in deck built and it turned out better than we imagined. Weâ ve gotten numerous compliments in the short time that itâ s been completed. This company is very responsive via text and the owner and his employees were respectful and courteous. From the time that we first contacted Steve to the completion was just about two months, which was much quicker than we had expected. Would highly recommend.

Basement - Remodel
S and E did flood damage repair to my house, including flooring, drywall, painting, and garage door replacement. The work was done well and on time. The garage door install took some cleverness, and the team rose to the occasion on that too. I would recommend them and hire them again.

We hired S & E Smith's remodeling and could not be happier with how our kitchen turned out. They even made recommendations that would help us save money with the remodel. The contractors were very respectful of the parts that we wanted to maintain during the model, and left my kitchen cleaner than it was when they started! I will definitely be using them in the future!

The only reason we hired him was his Promise to complete the project quickly. Instead, he received the down payment and went on a 3-day vacation. Took 3 weeks to apply for the first permit. And when questioned about all the delays it was one excuse after another. And always the same excuse. The weather and permits. 2 months after the contract date, he took another 3 day vacation. He does not hire plumbers or electricians, who ever shows up for work that day does the work with his instruction. Very poor work the floor is unleveled, the walls are not straight, and worst of all the toilet is 4 inches from the shower. The room size is 10 and 39 x12 and 39. I do not recommend this company.

"In review of there comments they are very un-happy people. that yelled at us every day this addictions from start to finish took 30 days ( super fast no one could do it faster) the weather and the permit process did take longer then expected but we can not keep the sky's from raining and as soon as it stopped we poured foundation then we started the framing (they called the city everyday that's why it took so long) we passed all inspections from the city with no problems and the inspector told the homeowner it was a beautiful job and well constructed. the toilet in review had to be placed per building code because of the way there home was built and plumbed there was no other way to do it and it was 14" away from the shower. It's sad that these people got a great addiction and many free extras such as a free upgrade on ceramic tile in shower $500.00 no charge after they changed there mind half way threw and a new main shut off for the house with a miter stick free of charge $400.00 value and not one thank you just hate full people and they believed they owned me when they signed the contract i had to ask permission to go out of town for the weekend even though i had my crew still working on there home they should be ashamed of the review they gave us but i am the bigger man and will wish them no ill will knowing that i went over and above for them as i do with all my customer's i hope they find happiness"

I've been using him for 25+ years, and he always gives a good price. He's somebody I can trust around the house -- I don't have to be there when the work is being done. He has helped in emergency situations, too. I would recommend him, because he's a very good jack-of-all-trades.
