This was my third awning from Queen City. The two previous ones were dark green. I decided to try something new and went with khaki hoping it would let more light in than the green. Now I don't recommend light colors. The seams show through which looks cheap. After the first rain storm, the entire awning is filthy and looks old. After spending this kind of money on an awning, I expect it to look new. I called Queen City to voice my concerns about the awning and they just didn't care. They explained they don't dissuade people from making color choices. I said they should explain the trade-offs in the showroom so that people know what to expect and can make a more-informed color choice. That was the end of the conversation and I felt no satisfaction. I'll be shopping elsewhere next time.

Having tried to use another nationally known awning company who apparently had no interest in even returning my calls I contacted Queen City Awning (a local company) and was amazed with the level of customer service from the person taking my initial call to Kelly, the marketing rep right back to the contact and updates provided by the company to the installers. After my first attempt with the other company I was totally satisfied with customer service. As to the product it looks great, adds to the house and is providing the coverage and comfort we were expecting. Definitely would recommend and use them again.

The individual who came to do the estimate was very knowledgable and responsive in follow-up calls. We ordered the awning and blind and both were installed as scheduled. We are very happy with the product. We did have a small issue with the blind retracting on its own as a result of an issue with the automatic retractor device. This device fell off of the blind during one of the very hot days we had earlier this summer. We placed the device in a cupboard and it later came apart. Soon after it came apart the blind began to retract on its own. I called the company to ask them to help me understand and fix this problem. It took two days for them to return my call. By the time the call was returned my husband had reassembled the device and we had not had any spontaneous retractions in a day. I asked the service person to find out if what we thought was the problem could have actually been the problem or if there was something else that needed to be checked. I also asked how to reattach the automatic retractor device that had fallen off the blind structure. She said she would get back to me. When I did not hear from her the next day I sent an email. She responded on how to reattach the device but I didn't really get any feeback on the original problem. Since the blind hasn't retracted in the last few days this is pretty moot. However, it would have been nice to have a little more sense that they were interested in helping address my concerns. In the overall scheme of things I was very happy with the work. I do wonder about how future service needs may be handled.

THE PROBLEM IS their warranty! BEWARE they don't honour it, it COSTS you $$$ each time they come out even under warranty, WE WERE NOT TOLD THIS! we paid for an expensive warranty, yet it costs huge dollars just for them to show up. we have used them once the awning was tilting, it cost us $$ for them to fix - 10 mins max! We were told that everything was warrantied, but not the price for them to show up! a real dissapointment. So make sure you get the call price, before you buy an awning. Otherwise a good awning. A pity they don't go the extra yard and make themselves stand out!!! Whatever happend to "stand behind your work" We went with the Eclipse their best, 13' that only gives us 11,9 their platinum protection plan. Yeh.

I purchased a retractable awning from Queen City Awning in April 2011. In May of 2012 it stopped working. When I called QC Awning, I was told that the warranty expired end-April and that a Service Call would be $90 + any parts except the motor which was still under warranty. I set up the appointment. The night prior to the service call, a message was left on my answering machine that said, Please call us with your credit card number. You must prepay $105 for the FIRST 15 MINUTES OF THE SERVICE CALL. i called back and left a message that this was not a reasonable request -- I don't give out my credit card number over the phone nor do I pay for services before performed. The service crew (3) showed up an hour and 15 minutes late. They replaced the motor because, and quot;they had no idea what the problem was.and quot; This cost $282. The awning does now retract but not smoothly. At the end one of the arms flops back to settle in. I showed the repair guy this and he said, and quot;well it works. There are conflicting forces at play here...and quot; Net, he left it as is.
I feel the cost of the repair was unreasonably high. I believe they charged me $90 for first 15 minutes and then $64 for each of the next 3, 15 minute periods. I say, I believeand quot; because they did not leave a copy of the invoice. Just gave it to me for my signature, took my check and left.
Yes, the awning now works but the workmanship was poor and I was overcharged, in my opinion. I paid over $3,000 for the awning. It stopped working one month after the warranty expired and they charged me almost $300 to fix it.
Had I known the cost of a service call for QC Awning, I would have purchased my awning elsewhere.

Beautiful results. Matches home. I love their bi-annual service of removing and reinstalling the awning seasonally.

I visited their showroom to view fabric options before placing my order. They provide samples of each option, which was very helpful in matching to our exterior paint colors. Showroom staff was very helpful and friendly in discussing edging/hem options. The wait for installation was exactly as long as they said it would be (four weeks), and the installation was perfect.

They called me either the day before or two days before that they were coming to install my awnings. I did not need to be home, which was good, because I had a lot going on at work that day. My awnings looked great when I came home.

It went very well. I contacted them and they came and gave an estimate. I accepted and chose the fabric for my awning. They installed the awning, showed up on time and everything went well.

They came out promptly. Determined it could not be repaired, but the frame was salveable. They charged me $85.00 for coming out. They gave me an estimate for a new awning. I felt the $85.00 should come off the cost of the awning.

Went to their HQ and picked out new material and it was delivered and installed six days earlier than promised.

I was reasonably happy with the service from our initial visit to the showroom, through the visit at our house for the estimate. However, they scheduled a time to be at our house to perform the installation. They also requested one of us to be present to pay the balance due. My wife drove home from work to find nobody there and the work not yet started. We were not contacted that the crew was running late from an earlier job, until she contacted the company looking for answers.
