PROTECTION HOME INSPECTION

Mr. Sutherland was one of 5 home inspectors recommended to us by our realtor. When I spoke with him on the phone I found his background to be impressive, and his Insight to be highly competent and very professional. During the inspection, Mr. Sutherland was extremely patient with our questions, informative and happy to explain complicated issues. He was very methodical—going from room to room, explaining what he was looking for/observing along the way. He found several issues that I never would have noticed--or may have realized several years later. The final report was delivered in a timely manner and was very thorough and detailed--complete with numerous photographs and descriptions. We area extremely pleased with Mr. Sutherland’s service and would certainly hire him again for any future real estate purchase.

Butch Sutherland is an excellent inspector.  He is super thorough and he spent over 3 hours going through the house and explaining everything to us.  He has 20+ years of experience and clearly knows what he is talking about. I would definitely use him in the future and I would highly recommend him!

Forrest (Butch) was great.  I called him on a Monday morning and he was able to meet me on Thursday at the property to do the home inspection.  He was very personable, easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable.  He started on the outside of the house and checked the house from top to bottom, answering every question that I had about the house, it's condition, and future updates/projects.  He pointed out everything, from things that needed addressed now to things that would need addressed in the future (5-10years).  I definitely got the feeling that he had my interest, as the buyer, in mind and not simply just trying to complete another inspection to make some money. 
His inspection report was very professional.  He gives you a binder with alot of great house owning information, a copy of the inspection contract, and a handful of blank pages in the back to print your future report on.  He emailed me a copy of the inspection, his report, and his recommendations within about 4 1/2 hours of completing the inspection, colored pictures of his findings included.  The whole process was very easy, and I would definitely recommend Protection Home Inspection to friends and family that were in the market for a home inspector.  I also will be using Butch in the future for any of my real estate purchases.  I highly recommend his services if you are in the market for a good, thorough home inspection

Butch was prompt, courteous, and very precise in his work. He had very good knowledge of all the building codes in that area. Also experience in proper installation practices. He explained everything in detail and had a report to us the same day.

Forrest (Butch) Sutherland of Protection Home Inspection, LLC. arrived for the inspection even before we did and had already begun with the exterior of the home. He made us a part of his inspection by thoroughly explaining what he was looking for and showing us the negatives and just as importantly the positives about the house. He answered all of our questions in detail.  
     He was recommended to us by another highly rated home inspector so I had high expectations for Butch. He met and exceeded all expectations. This is our 7th home purchase and we have never had such a thorough inspection. Butch took the time to examine even the smallest details. We were very  pleased with his professionalism and his attention to detail. His final report was very easy to follow, was in a binder and contained detailed information about everything he inspected including color pictures where appropriate. We would absolutely choose Protection Home Inspection, LLC. and Butch for any future home purchases without hesitation.
     The fee quoted to us was $375 plus $25 for each additional hot water heater and/or AC unit. We paid $375 and feel we got a great deal! Thank you Butch!

Butch arrived on time!  He explained what he was looking for and when he felt there was a concern he explained why and what to do about the situation.  He pointed out possible concerns and what profession to contact to resolve the issue if there was truly an issue. Sometimes there are problems behind the walls or ceiling, but explained with the age of the house what these could possibly be.
The roof inspection was handled another day.  There was a snow fall and he could not see the flashing or shingles.  So he came a few days later, called us to tell us finished the roof and he would have our notebook to us in a day.  
The notebook he handed us with all the inspection notes was amazing!  He took pictures of the possible and/or true problem and explained what needed to be done.  There was also a checklist of when and how to care for your house. 
This is the 3rd house we purchased.  Of all the inspections he was the most professional and through!  Butch is your man if you want it done correctly!  If I could give him an A+ my husband and I would!

My fiance and I hired Butch to do a home inspection on a house that we are thinking of purchasing. Butch was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. He did not miss anything and explained all of the areas of concern, while even throwing in some extra tidbits just to help us out with DIY's in the future. The inspector surveyed a home I was looking to purchase. He was professional, very knowledgeable, and thorough. He was extremely nice and easy to work with. He has my best interest at heart and that was easy to see.  His turn -over time for the inspection paperwork was only a few hours and he answered questions that I had after the fact, in a timely manner. I would recommend him to anyone who was looking for a home inspection.

Butch was prompt and set up everything so we could efficiently work the property with him. Showed us and explained everything patiently and thoroughly.

I did not need a full house inspection. I had a specific problem whose cause had to be identified and a solution proposed. I called in the afternoon and Butch arrived at noon the next day as promised. He idenified the cause of the problem, provided photos to document it and provided good advice on how to resolve it. The fee was very reasonable. He is a personable individual and easy to deal with in addition to giving good service at a fair price.

He is pretty personable and thorough.  The inspection went fine.  The price was fair.

It went great.  Butch was waiting for us in the house by the time we got there.  He took his time and walked us through everything that he was looking at and explained everything to us since my wife and I were first time home buyers.  He pointed out any causes for concern, as well as good things about the house. 

The day before the inspection, it rained & the roof was covered in ice so he couldn't inspect the roof.  However, he went back out 2 days later in ordr to fully inspect it.

Butch was very personable and it was nice talking to him.  He was also very responsive to follow up emails with some additional questions my wife and i had.

We discovered evidence of water damage in our remodeled basement. We thought this was related to recent remodeling work. As it turns out, Mr. Sutherland found the causal problem which was totally unrelated to the recent work.

Butch spent several hours with me during the inspection, as well as afterward, to make sure we understood the issues, large and small, with the house and how to fix them.  He was very thorough and patient with my questions.  I wouldn't hire anyone else and can't recommend him highly enough!

Forrest was prompt, professional and very thorough in his report. We are moving back to the area, and could not be at the actual inspection. Forrest took the time to go through each part of the inspection report (including a lot of photos) with my husband and I over the phone, answered all our questions, and seemed to have covered just about every square inch of this property. He was straight-forward about some of the issues the house had, was extremely knowledgeable and gave us great advice. In addition, he was a genuinely nice guy and a delight to work with. What more could you ask for?

Butch did a fantastic job! He was very personable and went over absolutely everything in great detail with us. He was very up front about all defects and even what he thought we could do to repair them. He also was able to recommend a great structural engineer. I would recommend Butch to anyone who wants a thorough home inspection!

Forrest (B****) arrived early and was very thorough. After each phase of the inspection, he would call me to explain in detail his findings. He later sent me an electronic report with all problems detailed in writing and photos, which helped to relocate all issues found.

Work was thorough. Forrest was very good about explaining his findings. His inspection report was well illustrated. I am very satisfied.

My experience with Forrest was excellent. This inspection was prior to me placing a bid on what ended up being my first home. He started in the afternoon before I got off work and once I arrived he had already been through the house once on his own. We then walked through and he pointed everything he noticed out. One quality I really liked about him was that he took the time to explain and educate me about what he included on his report. You could tell he had a lot of knowledge and experience. He was also very meticulous in his approach which I really appreciated. I feel like he gave me a fair opinion about the condition of the home.

Butch was a delight to deal with. Although the house is only 864 sf, a ranch, and had no utilities, he spent hours checking everything and answered all my questions. I'm buying for investment and have seen over fifty homes in the last three months so I've learned a lot about what to look for. Still, his inspection found a few major problems I had missed. When he was finished, he walked me through the property showing me the highlights of his findings. His report is clear, complete and had good pictures. This was very useful when I had to argue with HUD to get out of my contract. This bad report sounds bogus. The SELLER is angry that a buyer walked away after Butch told the Buyer about defects in the home? Sounds like he was doing his job. I find it impossible to believe the seller "bought" the inspection! The seller's probably mad that someone found the defects he was trying to hide.

He was very thorough. He didn't hesitate to give me bad news. I hated hearing it. I tried to negotiate the price down but the seller was rigid. I gave up the house. Someone else bid on it and it went under contract right away. It broke my heart. I found a much better property two doors down the street, got over the first house and am thrilled I didn't make that mistake. And, the first house is back on the market.

Excellent job performed by Butch Sutherland. Butch fit me into his schedule on two days notice to perform a pre-drywall inspection for a new home I am building. He arrived promptly at the appointed time and conducted a thorough inspection of the house. He answered all questions I had regarding the home, which I asked frequently during the inspection process. Butch is very knowledgeable and instructive about what he was inspecting, the criteria he used to rate each item, and provided the rationale behind his criteria. Butch even stayed after the inspection to personally show the building site manager all unsatisfactory findings. The report was generated, with pictures, and printed right at the site and an electronic copy was emailed the next day. Highly recommended!

I have hired him several times and he is absolutely wonderful! He is very professional, pleasant and great to work with. He answers all of your questions without getting to technical and he does not mind if you look over his shoulder while he inspects. He is wonderful and I would recommend him anyone!!!! This man is the best i have ever used!!!
