"This customer made demands to the field crew that were not agreed to in the survey contract or price. After completion of the survey this customer demanded we set iron rebar every fifteen feet on every property line. This property was heavily wooded. This customer wanted us to clear the property lines so that they could install a fence without any hassle. After we spent additional hours setting iron rebar and clearing line trying to make them happy the customer then demanded complete AutoCad drawings to be released to both them and their Architect to be used for design purposes that we knew nothing about. This customer refused to sign a digital release form and claimed that they owned the rights to our AutoCad files. They told us point blank that they were not going to pay us. We just could not make this customer happy even with the additional work we did at no charge. They seemed to always come up with a new demand or reason to not pay us. We did a good job. We have 3 survey crews and have been in business for over twenty years. We do probably 3000 mortgage and boundary surveys a year. This was our most difficult customer. I think you will run into customers like this now and then in every business."
"Customers have a habit of changing or canceling their scheduled survey by leaving us a voice message. Not sure what happened with this customer but we did come out the next morning. We just joined Angie's List November of 2010 so I don't know about any phone call to get us to them quicker. Looks like this review is over seven years old. We don't have any smokers on our field crews. Maybe the concrete guys. First I heard anything about cigarette butts."
"Every property is different. We try to give an estimate on how long a survey will take. It depends on what monuments we find to get started, how well they fit with the deed information, and how wooded the lot is. It can be difficult to estimate how long a job will take."
