It was fantatstic.

I had a great experience. They did a very good job. They are very prompt and friendly. They have a two time per year service plan that is beneficial which includes serving the unit and changing the filters. They will also check the Freon level.

The owner is very responsive, very personable and he really believes in taking care of his customers.

It was a very hot day and the system had stopped cooling. Contractor installed a Start Assist on our Heat Pump. They arrived promptly on the same day that we called and they completed the work within a half hour. Quick, efficient and professional.

I have a furnace which is located in my attic.  My furnace was purchased from another company and installed by them.  I haven't had much luck with them but won't go into detail about that.  Precription Air came out, crawled around in my attic, found and repaired a shorted wire located inside the air handler.  This wire looks to have never been installed properly (my opinion) and could have caused a fire.

The company did not do the prepaid air conditioner service.  The technician was already here for a furnace service. The outside temperature was 70 degrees so warm enough to check the A/C.  The tech was uncooperative in finding any way to do the prepaid service.

We did this project in two phases.  The first phase was when we were remodelling our basement.  McClain came in and installed dampers into ductwork while the ceiling was open and we paid for that part of the project at that time.  We then saved for three months to complete the project and they were willing to work with us on that.  They returned, added additional dampers into existing ductwork, hooked it all together, added wireless thermostats in the zones we requested and finished everything within one day.  We now are more comfortable in our home than we've ever been.  Our master bedroom is above an unheated garage and we've always been cold in that room.  We can now have that room at exactly the temperature we want while keeping other zones lower or higher as desired.  Cost is dependent on number of zones you want. 

I found McClain's on Angie's list after another HVAC company I had been using refused to help a tenant at night. McClain's identified and fixed the problem within an hour that night. I completely plan on using them again.

McClain did not bug me or pressure me to go with them. They did answer all of my questions, and provided all of the details that I needed to compare various estimates. It is very difficult to compare estimates because there is so much variability with furnaces, i.e., like comparing apples and oranges. I was debating between 2 companies (both from Angies List), but ended up with McClain because we didn't have a working furnace and they did prioritize our furnace installation quickly because cold weather was forecast. Buddie installed the new Maytag furnace, which took a day and a half because of some of the complexities of removing our large 20+ year old inefficient furnace that had a huge duct to the chimney. However, he made sure the furnace was in good running order on the first day so that we could get the house warm. The new Maytag furnace is 95% efficient. Buddie was able to hook up our old Aprilaire humidifier into the new furnace easily. Our new furnace is quieter and more efficient. We're quite happy with our new Maytag furnace.

My husband has used McClain for our A/C so that's who we called for the furnace. When we called they were able meet us the next day (Friday) at a convenient time for me based on my work schedule. Leo was polite and knowledgeable and tried many different things to figure out what was causing the furnace to shut itself down. Finally it was discovered that the heating elements were beyond repair and the furnace, if turned back on, would be a danger to us. It was 28 years old. Since it was Friday afternoon they were unable to install a new furnace that day but Leo worked via cell phone with the owner on a recommended furnace and price. We made arrangements for the following Monday morning for removal of our old furnace and installation of a new, more energy efficient furnace. The installation by a different repairman did take all of Monday and half of Tuesday to complete due to moving from a large furnace to a much smaller one. However, we did have heat Monday evening as promised (including a new programmable thermostat) and we didn't have to return to a hotel.

They came on time, and did the job quickly. They did exactly what they said they would do, and I was happy with the result. They were professional, and the quality of work was good.

I am extremely thankful that McClain came to service our furnace at just the right time to notice our gas leak(I was oblivious). The owner of McClain is my neighbor/friend and had been reminding us that we needed to have our furnace tuned-up. He turned out to be our guardian angel who saved us from a potentially serious gas leak. He also gives us a significant discount on services which is very nice.

I was in Connecticut when my A/C went out, during a heat wave in August 2006. A friend who was caring for my cat told me the news. I called two Cincinnati companies for estimates. Doug Whittenburg at McClain gave me several options, and I chose one that seemed quite reasonable to me. It was installed and running when I got back to town.

Both our experiences with McClain were very positive. Leo arrived on time and was very knowledgeable about hot water systems.

THIS COMPANY WENT WAY ABOVE EXPECTATION TO NOT ONLY CORRECT THE PROBLEM WE CALLED THEM TO FIX, BUT ALSO CORRECT OTHER PROBLEMS LEFT FROM ANOTHER LESS REPUTABLE COMPANY FROM A PREVIOUS "REPAIR". ALL PEOPLE WERE AS KNOWLEDGEABLE AS THEY WERE COURTEOUS AND PUNCTUAL. WE'LL ABSOLUTELY USE THEM AGAIN, SHOULD THE NEED ARISE, AND RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS.

EXCELLENT! RESPONDED AND REPAIRED AC UNIT WITHIN TWO HOURS OF A CALL, ON A HOT EVENING.
