Kurt is: * Always on time. * Friendly, outgoing, and communicative about the work. * Collaborative with us on design and function. He welcomed our input and ideas. * Professional - and the guy leaves no stone unturned. He was worrying about solving very small issues that arose, and he was worrying about them way before I could even notice them. * His subs were outstanding. Kurt is a local guy and he has known and worked with his subs for years. * He is extremely honest. I could come and go, even going out of town for several days, without worry. * He works extremely well with our great architect, Laura Stankorb. * Detail oriented. Any little thing I didn't like, with absolutely no hesitation, it was fixed. He really cares about us being happy with the project, down to the very subtle things that I probably was being a little nit-picky about. Kurt never makes you feel like you're nagging or nit picking. It's a small thing, but in these small ways he just made us feel good about the entire project. Best of all: you never need to memorize Kurt's phone number, because if he leaves before you get home, or are out of town, he will be calling YOU all the time to update YOU on the project. And he thinks way ahead. I usually dread the punchlist at the end of a remodel of any kind, because it seems even the best of contractors grow weary of the project. Not Kurt. If he was sick of my kitchen :), he never let on, and he kept on creating punch list after punch list until every i was dotted and t was crossed. My estimate was lower than my final cost, but most of that was due to material changes on my part. Most of the subs Kurt brought in I paid separately, which was fine by me, and they were within range of what Kurt had estimated, except electrical, as we ran into unforeseen problems when some walls were removed that could not have been predicted.
