MIRACLE RENOVATIONS PLUS

I would/will never refer this company to anyone anywhere. I am seeking a judgement against them that I've Won in Hamilton County Civil Courts. Miracle Renovations screwed me out of so much money, by incompletion of project. They (Merrick Collins) and crew have come up with every excuse for delay, incompletion and inability to preform task. To sum this company up "They are a Scam rip off artist" . If i had only heeded the words of others before me. "Dont do it" Find yourselves Honest contractors.

Everything stayed with the bid except for the removing the paint from the door. No one realized just how hard it would be to remove old paint from that door. He was about 15 percent less on his bid than everyone else I checked out. Overall I was very happy with the service. I would definitely use them again.

The overall experience was not good with them. We've had to pay to have the plumbing redone that he did for us. We have had an electrician go in and do the electrical work before the handyman went into the house to paint. The handyman person wanted to replace the lights in the ceilings and we agreed on a price for that and for some reason he also decided that he had to put in GFIL in the kitchen and in the bathroom. He was very insistent that he had to do that and was able to do that, so, he gave us the price for that which we agreed to. He ended up doing an electrical system where several of the outlets and lights did not work, so, we had to bring the electrician back to have everything redone. I really wish that I had held his last check until we actually checked on some of the things because the day after we paid his last check was the day we had a plumber come in. He told us that there is a clog in the upstairs kitchen drain and wanted to call another plumber to fix it. He was going to bill us for that, but, I told him to leave it and we took care of it. So, we called the plumber next day who told that it wasn't that there was a clog in it was that the plumbing was done incorrectly and they could not drain because of the way it was done. The plumber said he used parts from a bath tub drain and the trap was way too low and it can only be so low for it to drain properly. Then they put in the proper parts for it to work properly. I think we overpaid them and the only decent work that we had done was the painting and the wallpaper removal. During the painting also they spilled it all over the floors, they did not use drop cloth and things. I never even dreamed that professionals would do that. It did not even cross my mind that they would not protect the floors. He came across so sincere and I really, honestly believed that he was going to do the things that he was going to do and I was impressed. I contacted Angie's List and I got the ratings on him and checked his references that he gave us. It is unfortunate because I was really taken. I would not use him again and actually would not allow him in the house. We had a contract with him and it included that he would take care of any permits that were needed on this project. When the city inspectors came out they found that the water heaters were incorrect. They also told us that there had not been any permits obtained for water heater and we could be fined for that. The contractor could be fined. My husband did contact Miracle Renovations and at that point we found the reason why he did not get the permit. The reason was that he is not licensed, but, he did not tell that to us until we had the issue with the inspector. When my husband called to talk to him about the plumbing issue and told him that we wanted the money refunded over the phone and these people said that he had a bad connection or he is in a noisy situation and would call back. He never called back, so, after several days I sent him an email and told him to return the call regarding this plumbing situation and if you don't return the call, we will have to take you through Angie's List conflict resolution. Then, about a week later he called and he was irate just at the mention of the Angie's List which concerned me because I have a property in the area he lives in. He was yelling, said that his phone has been turned off and did not have internet. He also said that we should not threaten him with Angie's List wherein my intention was just to get him to return my call, so that we can talk to him about the issues. After his over reaction we thought maybe our best bet is to not do anything right now. I don't want him going to my house and damaging it because he is obviously a little explosive.

I loved them!!! I had spent all day waiting on a different handy man (no call, no show) so when Merrick said, "I'll be right over." I was so happy. He arrived within 30 minutes. We agreed on a price. They were so fun. We laughed a lot and I was just amazed at how easy it was for him to work 3 stories up. I had lots of rejects on the job b/c of the height and small job so I can't even begin to tell you how happy I was with them. Just good people looking to do good work and make a living. It was 92 degrees and he worked from 3 to 6 so I was very, very appreciative and pleased. The downspouts are back with braces on the one that needed it and screws in the places that needed it.

I couldn't be more pleased.

I found Mr. Collins on the List approximately at noon on a Friday. By 4 PM that day, I had signed the contract for the work detailed above. His crew started work at 9 AM on Saturday. He was finished by 6 PM on Sunday. While the crew worked, they kept doing extra work...painting larger areas because the old paint was so worn, fixing extra boards, and patching concrete cracks with their leftover mortar. None of what we asked to be done was particularly detailed, fine work, so I do not know the limits of Mr. Collins' ability, but we are very pleased with the quality of the work they performed. Now, on Thursday, Mr. Collins called to confirm we were satisfied with the job, and to check what may need touching up (like shrinkage of the caulking or absorption of paint). Overall, I am amazed at the speed of the work, happy with the price, and happy with the quality of what was done.

I was extremely happy with the work performed by Mr. Collins and his assistant. They sent me a written estimate promptly after assessing the job. They began work when they said they would begin it, and finished on schedule. Mr. Collins very carefully matched the trim work and his repair to my beadboard soffits looks great. He carefully matched the paint colors, so the repair is unnoticeable. His final charge was within his estimate. He cleaned up the work site each evening when he finished, and was quite thorough in his work. I will use him again for other home repairs.
