John, with Liberty, discovered a small leak of carbon monoxide emitting from the furnace. Recommended a replacement unit. Unit scheduled to be replaced. Also decided to replace AC unit. Does this sound like an oversell by the Service Rep? NO WAY. They have been servicing our units every six months for 30 years. We get detailed reports and explanations with every service so we were well aware that our AC unit had been leaking freon for two years and our Furnace has been on its last legs for a few years as well. So it was no surprise when John recommended that it was time to replace the Furnace. We decided to go ahead with the AC unit as well. John and his Sons have been providing us with HVAC services since the 1980s when they were Forest Park Electric. Over the past 30 years we have grown to trust these pros like family. Why? They are a hard working, honest amd polite family that takes care of you in the right way, They are really experts at what they do, and explain everything before you can even ask a question. (He went into great detail about Carbon Monoxide poisoning, where to set alarms, how it travels in the air, and what to do if you get the symptoms.) They always give you a reminder call an hour before the scheduled time. They are prompt, efficient, way too polite, and do quality work They sell the best HVAC manufacturers. We are buying Train units which are exactly comparable to the size units we have, but higher quality,, beacuse they NEVER upsell to sizes you don't need. Oh, and one last thing, John also gave me payment and installation options to ease the pain of replacing the units (eg. waiting to replace the AC in the spring if money was tight; or indicating that he could hold a check for a week or so until we had funds). WHO DOES THAT! Libery Electric does.

I was satisfied with what they did. I don't have anything to compare the price to. On quality it’s definitely an A. We're very confident in the quality of the work that they do and we don't have any reservations about any incorrect wiring or anything else. It took them I believe it was 2 days to complete the work. The workers were professional and at the same time we had confidence in them that they acted professionally. They cleaned up very well.

We have them do maintenance work a couple times a year. We have it done twice a year for the air conditioning and for the heating. We've used them for quite a while. I would say it's probably an average price. I really don't know because we haven't compared anybody in a long time. They tend to do a good job; the quality of work I would say. The workers were professional and seem knowledgeable. It took them about 45 minutes to complete the check. They cleaned up well after.

I noticed the air temp in the house was low in the morning, called in to relay information, scheduled an appt. early afternoon same day. Mike arrived in the one hour time window that was given. Took a while to find out what was going on, turns out some spider webs in the air intake duct were reducing air flow enough to keep the burners from staying on. He also made a note to check this during annual inspections. Work was completed in an hour. Mike is very conscientious and highly recommended.

I was looking for a new provider for hvac services and had used this company for some minor electrical work several years ago. I was pleased with that work and decided to try them for hvac. Mike, the owners son, performed the service. Was much more thorough than my previous provider. He found the gas pressure off quite a bit on the low fire setting and adjusted both low and high fire pressures. Cleaned air and condensate lines, burner tubes, flame sensor, and more. I will use them again.

Installed two A/C as well as new furnace and hot water heater. |In retrospect ,I was disappointed in some of the work. The owner was well aware of electrolysis in some of my copper pipes because of two dis similar metals in contact with each other. Yet, when the hot water heater was installed they used or tried to use silicone to isolate a copper fitting from coming into contact with a heating vent. It failed to do the job . It was corrected by another firm when I had other work done. There was no need if the work had been done properly the |first time, it was a matter of cutting a piece of pipe shorter. |I am still willing to use this firm but will check their work in the future as they go along. |The owner of this business was responsive to my initial inquiry and was more than willing to explain exactly what we were getting and how it worked. They were also on time and did not leave me with a mess to clean up.
Response from Liberty Electric Heating & Cooling
"The problem with the water pipes is a problem that has existed since the 1990s in Butler County, where the water pipes used by the original builder was defective. We are not plumbers but did show the customer were water pipes showed signs of problems, and suggested that they contact a plumber for proper repairs. The pipe from the water heater was within .10 cm of the duct system but did not touch at the time of installation, so we did insulate between the two metals VIA GE Silicone to help prevent contact. The customer did not contact us with any concerns, or we would have responded that same day to satisfy the customers concerns."

I contacted Liberty Electric, Heating & Cooling to schedule an appointment to perform the above service. I've used this business in the past for other electrical, heating and cooling work. They take the time to explain and answer my questions. The owner and staff are extremely knowledgeable (for electrical, heating and cooling), courteous and professional. I scheduled a timeframe of 1:00 - 2:00 pm they showed up promptly at 1:00 pm they are always punctual. The cost was appropriate for the work and labor hours performed which also included a Lifetime Customer Discount. They provided a detailed report checking off parts inspected, the condition and any action needed (if applicable). The invoice listed line items containing the Job/Repairs Description along with the price for each line item.

I should mention first that while this was the most recent service I recieved (servicing my home furnace), I had an air conditioning system installed at a rental house we own last month (approximately $3000).
Regarding the furnace servicing - they were prompt, polite, did the job and explained everything they did.  They also mentioned that if I had my furnace serviced by them again next year it would be $60 (rather than $90).
Regarding the A/C installation - they had the best price and I didn't feel like I was being "oversold" by the guy who came to give me the quote (like I felt with another larger company). My husband was out at the house the day of the installation but he said it went smoothly and it was fast.  They did reschedule the installation from the originally scheduled date, but that wasn't that big of a deal to me.
Overall I would definitely recommend them and will continue to use them at our house and the rental house as needed.

They called this morning before 8am to confirm appt. we made last week.  She said they would be out between 10a-11a.  John arrived between the time agreed, accessed the situation, and completed the task quickly and neat. Very professional, polite, and conversational. It was good to see an electrician/contractor who cared/respected the customer.  I would be comfortable for them to do a larger job for us in the future.

They were wonderful.  I called the office, explained the situation and gave them the OK to work on it (since it is outside) while I was heading home from work to meet them.   By the time I got home, the repair was done.  Everything was explained to me in detail so I understood the work that had been performed.

Fujitsu unit was not operating properly.  Liberty came to determine problem and had to work through Fujitsu to make the fix.  Fujitsu had recently changed distributors in the area and Liberty had to do considerable follow up with them to get the unit repaired.  It took quite a while but Liberty kept in regular contact with us so we knew what was going on.

It never fails that your A/C goes out during a holiday weekend (our last experience was the Fourth of July several years ago).  We knew that our current system was of low quality, and suspected that we were going to need to buy a whole new system.  We had used Liberty before and had a good experience, so we called them again.  The technician, Mike, was able to work with our schedule and arrived on time.  He then gave us the pleasant surprise that we didn't need to buy a new system.  He explained all of the issues in detail to my husband, more than he really needed to.  He told us that we eventually would need a new system, but probably a couple of years from now.  That proper maintenance and tune ups would extend the life of our system.
He was so thorough, and was at our home until 6:30 or so, ensuring that tape and tubes and everything else was properly in place.
This is our second experience with LIberty, and I cannot imagine going with any other company for repairs and for purchasing a new system, when the time comes.
