Laying Wood

Tony and his crew did an excellent job. He sanded and put down several stain colors for us to see. He was very prompt and accommodating. His price was fair also. He communicated with us daily and sent pictures to show us the progress.

Tony Nelson (Laying Wood) and his team did an excellent job from start to finish. Tony was easy to communicate with. We primarily txt'ed each other, but spoke over the phone as well. The initial crew came in and installed the hardwood flooring. They replaced carpet/linoleum in our living room & kitchen area with hardwood throughout. They stayed on schedule and even came on the weekend (Sat/Sun) to finish the job. Tony sanded a very small area of the existing floor as well as the new floor and put down sample stain colors to determine the stain color that we liked for our hardwood. The 2nd crew came in and re-finished (sanded) our existing floor as well as the new flooring to make it smooth as ice. After sanding, the crew stained and put on an initial two coats of polyeurethane on the entire hardwood flooring. The initial hardwood floor installation (640 sq ft), re-finishing of existing floor, staining, and two coats of polyeurethane only took 6 days total. Since we were re-modeling our kitchen, Tony felt it would be best to wait until the kitchen remodel was finished to put on the last coat of polyeurethane & install shoe molding. I called Tony a week out from requiring the last (3rd) cost of polyeutherane & shoe-molding when the kitchen remodel was in it's final phase. Tony and his crew applied the 3rd coat of poly and installed the shoe molding around the entire area where the hardwood was. The crew even installed additional scribe molding (that I had bought for the kitchen cabinets) around the flooring of the kitchen cabinets and the doorways, giving it a nice finishing touch. I would highly recommend "Laying Wood" and Tony Nelson. Tony and his crew were professional, top quality, and hard-working. Also, Laying Wood (Tony) gave a very competitive quote, which included wood vents in the pricing. He gave me great references with a realtor and builder that had used him numerous times and they had nothing but praise for him and his crew's work regarding hardwood flooring installation and re-finishing. I highly recommend and will be using him in the future for any other hardwood flooring projects I may have.

Tony and his guys started our job a day early and didn't stop until it was complete. They even came by Sunday am to put a coat of poly down. We gave them a key so they could start early as we stayed in a hotel to stay out of the fumes. We love the floors. The stain we chose looks beautiful.

Tony was on schedule and kept us informed of the progress. There was a small issue with backordered trim. Tony was persistent with the supplier and installed it as soon as it came in.

It went wonderful, the floor looks beautiful. Tony is very professional, his prices can't be beat! Highly recommended!

Our experience was very good they did a great job. They came in to give an appraisal and came to do the work later.

Tony was very responsive and very easy to work with. He arrived promptly for the estimate and gave us the estimate on the spot. We wanted our floors refinished while we were out of town and he was trustworthy enough for us to leave him with full access to the house. He wanted no money upfront but waited until after we arrived home and were happy with the work to be paid. Tony also helped us by working around and moving an item (treadmill) that we were unable to remove from one of the bedrooms and then he graciously helped me reconnect my dryer.
