 + -1 moreVery friendly staff dedicated to their customers. Awesome checking account that pays 2.5%. ATM fees are quirky. You pay $3.00 after 4th non Kemba ATM w/d per month. Online banking is simple and very good. Soon they're rolling out mobile deposit.

 + -1 moreThey are friendly. They know me by name when I go in. It is old school banking and I like that. They take care of us and they know everything that needs to be done. Their interest rates are usually a little bit lower for loans and much higher for deposit rates. We never have to worry about getting slammed with a list of up-sell questions when we visit the branch. Based upon our experience with Kemba, we will never bank at a large bank again. My kids have savings accounts and they do a birthday draw where they go in and grab a handful of money out of the jar and get to put that into their savings. It is totally free. It is nice that they offer that to the kids. It teaches the kids about savings.

 + -1 moreother reasons not to bank with KEMBA are the paucity of branches and NO ability to use the financial services inside the Kroger store. Being that KEMBA is owned by Kroger, we ought to be able to access accounts in the stores.
Description of Work: i was traveling from cincy to chicago and my debit/credit card was deactivated by KEMBA because i left cincy. i could not use my card anywhere. i called the number and was told no-one could help and the card was decactivated because i was traveling outside my home area. i've never had such bad customer service! anywhere else i've banked has called or e-mailed me if there is a suspicious transaction. and i wasn't informed when i opened the account that i needed permission aqhead of time to access my account out of my home area. i travel quite a bit and this policy, meant to protect me or not, is most inconvenient!
