The singles were replaced following damage done by a previous contractor. The repair was done beautifully. There was great attention to small details during the work.
The painting looks great! While they were working, it was nearly impossible to tell a project was going on. The ladders were neatly stored in the back of my house every day. I have yet to find the scrapped paint or a drop of paint on concrete or grass around my house.
I felt the workers did the project like they were working on their own house. I will use them again.
When the job was complete we were satisfied overall. The house looked very very good with new paint. Also, HPPC did meet our additional carpentry needs by fixing damaged wood.
I first noticed the coverage issue a couple years later when I mentioned to a roofing estimator we had recently done painting and wanted to avoid damage from roof work, and he said, "Well they missed few spots here."
As we are getting ready to do some painting again, I've been inspecting the different areas to paint. I've notice numerous spots there isn't coverage of the previous paint. Some missed spots are brush marks and other missed marks are patches. This is surprising to me since the contract I had was for two coats.

The other reviewer found the missed spots right after the job was complete, so HPPC came back and fixed the problem. Lesson learned for me is to inspect the work in detail immediately to identify correctable issues.
"We worked meticulously on this job and the end product looks great. We were in constant contact with the husband who signed the contract and we never met or spoke to the wife, who registered this report. The husband was always very cordial, pleasant and seemed very happy with the work.. We worked around their schedule and their roof issues. From start to finish, the job took eight working days and we did additional railing work at cost."
We chose McCoy and Sons Painting instead. Prices were about equal but McCoy impressed us with their affinity for oil paint and meticulous methods. Proved to be a most fortunate choice - night and day vs. HPP&C experience from 1998.
"We painted the exterior of this home 16 years ago. That's right, 16 years ago. And, the paint job still looked very good! This is a very large, old wood and stucco home that was in great need of attention when we painted it. A considerable amount of unforeseen carpentry work presented itself and we were very thorough in replacing the rotten wood at cost! When we bid say, an exterior paint job and then find additional carpentry work, we do that additional work at cost--to help and better serve the customer. The customer only complaint is that we (HPPC) do not have affinity for oil paint. He is right. We do not like oil paint for exterior wood and stucco surfaces. Oil is archaic, bad for the environment, bad for the house as it doesn't allow the surfaces to "breathe", and all technology is going into development of acrylic coatings. The new acrylic coatings are FAR better than the oil paints. Although it sounds corny, we always want the best products for customers as we want the job to last as long as possible. Our name and reputation is on the line with every job so we always want to apply or install the top quality products."
"We are very sorry you felt that we were a little too professional. We have been satisfying customers for over 37 years and working on older homes is certainly our specialty. When the unexpected pops up, say unforeseen carpentry work, we notify the customer about it and provide an estimate to replace it. This additional work is not quoted with profit in mind but at a cost basis. We are very easy to work with and we ALWAYS want the customer to be completely happy with our price and quality of work. We have a staff of 30 where we handle all aspects of home repair---remodeling, roofing/gutters, plumbing, electric, concrete, carpentry, and int/ext painting."
