Hyde Park Landscape & Tree Service

Hyde Park Landscape and Tree Service has taken excellent care of the Mt. Washington Cemetery for over ten years. When we lost twenty-eight 150+ year old ash trees due to the emerald ash borer, they meticulously removed each tree. This was no easy feat in a cemetery with over 4,000 headstones. Not a single headstone was harmed and they left the cemetery immaculate. They did all of this in a timely, efficient, pleasant and professional manner. They have performed other dead tree removals for us in an equally meticulous way.Their prices are reasonable; they offer excellent value for the money. The Mt. Washington Cemetery is a formerly abandoned cemetery that is cared for by neighborhood volunteers who formed the nonprofit Mt. Washington Cemetery Association in 1985 to care for the cemetery. On several occasions, Hyde Park Landscape and Tree Service has come to the cemetery's aid, delivering mulch and cutting up and removing sections of a massive tree limb that was too big for the volunteers to handle, at no cost to the cemetery. I called Hyde Park Landscaping in February and met with Nick on March 2. He was very pleasant and offered to do new plantings and undertake the maintenance on my property. I specifically inquired to be sure that the time commitment would not be a problem. We agreed to meet again later in the spring when the plants could be better assessed. It was clear to me that we had an oral agreement. I called mid April to schedule an appointment. Over the following five weeks, I called five times. I spoke with Vicky and Eliza, and each time I was told that Nick was given the message and should call me. I did not receive a return call. In late May I stopped at the Hyde Park Landscaping office and introduced myself. Vicky and Eliza certainly knew my name, and Vicky said she would again talk with Nick and try to set up an appointment. Again, I did not receive a call. It is hard for me to understand the discourteous way I was treated. If, for some reason, they chose not to do my work, a simple phone call would have sufficed.

They did a fine job and I would recommend them.

Workers were punctual and organized. Crew leader Carlos talked with us about the work to be performed. Work was professional and thorough...we'd go as far as to say, "Excellent." Trees look great. Clean-up was also very thorough. You can bet we'll be regular customers.

Nick came over to give a quote and I found him to be professional, courteous and knowledgeable. The two gentleman that performed the actual work were polite, hard-working and knew exactly what to do. They arrived promptly and got straight to work at pulling weeds, pruning shrubs and trimming the ground cover resulting in a much clearer, defined and more presentable outdoor space. I was altogether very impressed and will definitely be calling Hyde Park Landscape & Tree service next time we need our yard maintained.

I called Hyde Park Lanscape and Tree and the same day they came out to assess my property, which was great. Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there. I received a proposal the next day to have them come and mow my yard and perform a year-end clean up the following week. Two weeks later nothing was done and I received no communication. After following-up several times I was told they had already gone to my property and a bill was in the mail. After sending back pictures of my yard, they realized they had gone to the wrong address. I then followed-up for several weeks to get the work done with e-mails and phone calls not being returned. I finally received an e-mail back offering to complete the work for 10 times the price originally proposed. To be fair my yard had more leaves at that time, but I was shocked by the lack of responsiveness and ownership this company took. They obviously did not value my business.

After I got out of the hospital,  we called this company to take over the yard work.  They have been so great.  They came right over to talk with my husband and get started.  It was such a relief to have someone take that burden away.  I usually do the lawn and I am very picky.  I was expecting that I would not be satisfied.  I was pleasantly surprised.  The crew is so nice and they do such a nice job.  They try really hard to please the customer.  I am so happy we called them.

This was a total NIGHTMARE experience for me, working with Hyde Park Landscape & Tree Service.  
First I hired them for grass mowing.  They came out and made a nice appearance.  They presented as professional and knowledgeable.  When the mowing went well, I went to their office to request bed and yard maintenance as I would have to be out of town for a long time to care for sick relatives out of state.  I emphasized how important it was that the yard be maintained, such as sticks picked up after storms and weeds in the tree beds, bushes trimmed etc.  With a smile they assured me it would be done and they understood my situation.  In addition, my exterminator suggested overhanging branches from the trees be cut back from the roof.  I requested Hyde Park Landscape & Tree Service please handle this as well.
I returned to find that the yard had indeed been mowed nicely, but the weeds had grown up to the tops of the first floor windows, and branches were laying across the walk up to my home.  In addition, a prominent tree in the front yard had its top shorn off  in a very ugly way.  
When I called them in a panic about the weeds, they said they never got permission to do anything other than mowing.  Over the next few days I spoke with the office and landscape designer over the phone and in person at the office.  They were very callous, and acted as if I never requested yard maintenance.  They kept bringing up a late payment from months ago, even though I am currently paid up with no ongoing payment issues at all.  The manager said he didn't even know they were still cutting my grass.  He did not know I was a current customer!!!  That  helped explain why they weren't doing yard maintenance and didn't alert me to the horrible mess in the front of the home.  They would not take any responsibility for anything, and did not offer to make amends.  I could tell they didn't care at all that I was a customer.  They stood by their decision about the horrible cutting of the tree, even though every other yard and tree service I've since brought out immediately said it was a wrong action to cut the tree as they did. (The tree has since died even though it was blooming and living before)
Overall I would say that Hyde Park Landscape & Tree Service cannot operate independently.  I thought hiring them would take one less worry off of my shoulders, instead, it added a lot more pain.  In addition, when a problem arose, they were very cold, and took no responsibility.  I was shocked as they had seemed so nice and professional. So buyer, beware!  Hire them at your own risk.  I would say that's a risk you don't need to take.  They put on a good face, but they will just as soon turn their back on you, and you'll be the one who has to live with the damage, and they won't care at all that  they caused it, had any part in it, or that you were hurt in the process.

Used a crane to minimize damage.  Was also fast.  Did 5 trees total - 3 in my neighbors and 2 in my yard.  I'd have to say zero damage to grass and other shrubs.  Cleaned up.  Were professional and focused on getting the job done - took about 10 hours total.

The work Hyde Park did was nothing short of amazing.  We live in a historic neighborhood (19th century homes) that is located in an urban center in Northern Kentucky, so the homes are very close together.  The job was very technically challenging due to the closeness of the tree to our neighbor’s home; as well as, the power lines that ran near and through the tree.  Everyone on the Hyde Park staff did a great job.  I was in awe of the crane operator’s ability to maneuver the crane in such a tight space.  The guy who did the cutting, did so with the precision of a master sculptor.  Both the cutter and the crane operator needed to communicate effectively to do the job right.  From spotting to relaying communication, everyone on the team helped make sure that none of the logs damaged any buildings or power lines. Their team is very professional and personable.  One of our neighbors had used Hyde Park before and she said there was no one better, we tend to agree.

The tree was cut down to the stump, and was a very big, expensive job.  The person responsible for coming out and discussing the damage/repairs, came out Thursday by 1 p.m. after the storm came through 9:00 a.m.

Scheduled job for two days per discussion with company.  The crew was able to complete the job in 4 hours.  Professional and hard workers.  Took a lunch break and went right back to work.  Have used the company for tree service with excellent results.  Have them scheduled for landscaping and landscape lighting within the month

They did an excellent job. They came when they said they were coming. They were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. I have no complaints at all. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

Hyde Park Landscaping & Tree Service's price were incredible high. There was some sort of mix-up and it took them 2 weeks to give me a quote but once we got it scheduled they arrived on time. When they gave me the quote, they were two and a half times the price of what I often at least paid for it. I think it's more of an anomaly because I think my job was too small for them.

They are professional. 

I like everything about them.  I work with one guy pretty much and his name is Nick.  He is super responsive and he is willing to work with me on what I want done.  I call him and he comes out.  He would come back repeatedly till the issue is taken care of.  He is really nice and goes above and beyond.

They were very professional and trustworthy. They did what they said they would and did a good job. They were on time and reliable, as well.

They came out and said they were pretty backed up on work and I said that was OK as long as I could get it done before winter set in. Then I got the estimate for $3100.00 plus fuel surcharges and sales tax and decided to not go with this company.

Never showed up for scheduled time to give estimate and company came highly referred by a friend. We are new to the area and looking to redo our entire yard including grass, landscaping and tree trimming. Very disappointed in lack of customer service and fact that they never called to reschedule.

After receiving the initial written estimate, they advised I would be scheduled for work to be performed within 30 days. After 2 phone calls to find out when the work would be scheduled & not receiving a date, I found another supplier. The price seemed comparable with their competition, but the follow-through & attention to customer service wasn't there.

CALLED TWICE AND LEFT A MESSAGE FOR SOMEONE TO COME AND GIVE ME A QUOTE FOR LAWN SERVICE. NOBODY EVER RETURNED MY CALL.
