Very good. Fairly difficult in that the drive is hour glass shaped, on a grade and between stone walls.

These jerks were doing the concrete on my neighbors house and decided to take a break to lean over our fence and use their twirled up t-shirts to repeatedly smack and whip our dogs. When approached, they laughed and thought it was funny. Our dogs bark at strangers but they are fenced in and harmless. This was a senseless act of animal abuse and should never be tolerated in any environment. When the man in charge was approached he tried to joke it off. They had no business being near or leaning over our property line. I would say if you want a professional, call someone else.

Great Job. Had to fight all the unplanned rain this summer but they worked at it and did an excellent job.

Holmes was prompt with the estimate, in May 2014.  Due to bad winter, all concrete contractors were running behind, so he estimated work would be done in June/July.  I received notice in late May that the 1-day project was scheduled for the first week in June.  Talked to Holmes on 6-2; was told the work would be done on 6-6.  As rain occurred that week, I left a message with its answering service on 6-5, to see if the work was still scheduled.  No reply.  Workmen did NOT show up on 6-6; my message with answering service received no call-back.  Sent an email later that day, and was told work would be done on 6-9.  (These are the reasons for my lower "responsiveness rating."  I understand that the weather, and site conditions, can cause delays -- but I need to hear about it.  Just a quick phone call or email would have sufficed.)
Work performed on 6-9.  Crew varied from congenial to sullen/profane, but I can overlook a lot when the work is done correctly.  There had been concrete edging around the sidewalk, which had disappeared.  (Work began at 7:30A; I arrived on-site 3 hours later.)  Crew said they'd check on the edging's whereabouts.  I did not hear about the edging's demise until several days later, after my email inquiry.  I requested, and received, a $30 discount on the bill, to compensate for edging's loss.  (20 ft. of edging @ $1.50/ft.)
It required another week, and my questioning email, before the sidewalk's wood supports, and soil backfill, was performed.  As for enduring quality of the work, time will tell.
GENERAL NOTES on concrete work from ANY contractor:
This was a new experience for me, so I wasn't sure what to expect.  IF you have concrete work done which abuts any vegetation, expect damage.  I not only lost concrete edging, but also some plants.  I wish I had been warned of this -- I could have removed edging and plants beforehand.

The work went well. The estimate was reasonable compared to others I had received. The tear out and gravel part of the job went well. The company did not tell me that they wanted to wait a week to complete the job, which was a surprise and then it rained. When they returned after all that, the job completed well. I was satisfied except the asphalt in front of the garage door is not sloped well so that some puddling does occur(ice in the winter).

They showed up on time and completed the work in a timely fashion. The quality of the job in general was good, although I felt that they rushed a bit particularly at the end of the job. The result of rushing showed up later. We were told that the concrete would cure to a nice and even white color around spring. The job was done the previous November. It did not end up with even coloring, and the skirt was somewhat pitted. We started calling Mr. Holmes around March or April, and were usually told he'd "be out next week" or "call me right back". This went on until around August when he finally had someone come out. They repaired a small crack on the front of the porch and explained the problem with the sealant/curant. I was told that the uneven coloring was a result of the curant/sealant they sprayed on it when they finished. The driveway was probably still too wet for it to go on evenly, and the pitting was from it being sprayed too hard. We were told that the curant is only good for 30 days while the concrete hardens; beyond that, we would have to apply some sort of sealant on our own, something that was not clearly explained at the beginning.

Took forever for them to respond once I signed contract, several months, communication with them was very difficult until I finally tracked down the owners cell phone number. I was very disappointed in the finished product, especially in finishing of edges. When they came back to apply sealer (1 year later as recommended by them) the info. said brushed on, it was mopped on. It has been 1 year and I have to go out and fill some cracks on edges they did not fill, even though I pointed it out to them when they came to seal driveway (225 dollars more). I was very disappointed with the entire experience.
